Chapter 1

"Emma!! Don't you have somewhere to be right now?" Andrea screamed out. "I'm here! I'm here! It's not like I'll be the only late one anyways." Emma came down stairs to see her best friend in the kitchen making pancakes.

"What in the world?? Are you going to apply as the cleaner or what?" Andrea exclaimed. Emma looked down at her baggy jeans and the extra large T-shirt she wore without any change in her expression. She went into the kitchen and shoved a medium sized pancake into her mouth.

"It's not like I'll get accepted anyways so why dress up like a doll." Emma said as she picked up a glass of juice and downed it with no care how she looks.

"Common Emma, why can't you put in a little more effort in your looks. You are a girl for crying out loud." Andrea stared at Emma seriously.

"Yeah yeah!! And you have to behave like one blah blah blah" Emma completed Andrea's statement like she always does.

'Sigh' "May God bless the man who's going to marry you." Andrea said playfully as they both burst out in laughter.

"Alright alright... Time to go. See you later girl." Emma then put on her sneakers and ran out.

Emma met Andrea in the University and they have been like sisters ever since. Andrea works as a chef at a second class restaurant in C city so her pay was enough to cover the small one storey apartment they live in.

Even though Emma barely contributes a third of their living expenses, Andrea had no problem taking care of her baby sister even if it meant she goes bankrupt.

Emma arrived outside the company and went in after adjusting her long blonde hair. "Sorry miss... Who are you looking for." the receptionist said scornfully as she looked down upon Emma.

'Like what the hell!! Does she think any ordinary person can walk into Omars Royal Corporation??' she scoffed inwardly.

"I'm here for the interview. Which way please." Emma said calmly ignoring the disdain on the receptionist face.

"humph... So even a beggar like you thinks she can work in such an environment huh?... " The receptionist said provoked as she dropped down her act as a respectful person.

"I won't provoke me if I were you. Just show me where I need to go and shut your mouth." Emma said with the last bit of patience in her voice. I mean common, weren't ordinary people capable of working in such a big company?? Emma questioned inwardly.

"How dare you?!" the receptionist screamed out as she stood up furiously. "Secu-"

"What is going on here." The receptionist went dead silent at the sound of the cold and frightening voice that cut her mid sentence.

"Goo- good morning president." the receptionist greeted humbly as she bowed her head in fright.

"What is the meaning of this??!" he asked again, staring at Emma coldly.

"Um... President, she came here demanding to be interviewed. Our Omars Royal Corporation doesn't welcome such people, she sure overestimated her worth." The receptionist said with confidence seeing the president's cold look at the girl.

"What nonsense!! I can't believe this." He said as he took our his phone and dialed a number.

The receptionist had a smirk on her face seeing the president take out his phone as she thought he was going to call the security.

"Zeus... I need a new receptionist." All it took was one sentence to drain all the blood from the receptionist face.

"Pr-- President... I'm- I'm sorry." the receptionist burst into tears as she realized what just happened.

Did the president just fire her??! How is this possible?? What in the world?? Her mind went blank when thinking of her life from here on out. Omars Royal Corporation was the biggest running business in all of C city and anyone who walks here held their shoulders high in the society.

An average cleaner would get at least five thousand dollars every month which most normal civilian would kill for to get as their annual salary. How much will a receptionist like her be left with if she's fired now? How would she face her friends she bragged to??

The man referred to as the president turned to face the average loking girl beside him with the same cold expression every other person receives.

"I'm sorry for the nonsense you had to witness. It won't happen again." He said briefly before taking large steps towards his personal elevator and soon, he was out of sight.

In less than 20 minutes, a new receptionist was appointed and she was several times diligent in handling her duties. Emma was led to the interview and even if it ended 40 minutes ago, she was given the privilege to be interviewed due to a word from the president.
