My Own Paradise

two main male characters: Claude, a modern-day witch, and Eden, a Nephilim. Even though they are completely different from one another, they are ultimately just the two sides of the same coin. Hundreds of years have passed since the war ended between the Nephilims and the humans. Eden, being the last of his race, had received punishment from the Archangels for their transgressions. Therefore, he had been doing nothing but obediently carry out his punishment, since what else could he do with his inescapable fate? Until ... PACK! Eden turned to see an unfamiliar man against the window, squinting at him. His ivory hair was dripping wet, well actually he was drenched from head to toe as if he went for a swim and forgot to bring a spare change of clothes which made his current clothes stick to his body and outlining his muscles. His pinkish eyes squinted hard at Eden for a few seconds before recognition sets in. "YOU!" He pushed himself off the window and went towards the entrance all while Eden was trying to place the crazy human in his head and the next thing he knew the man grabbed hold of his arm, ignoring some humans in uniform telling him off for getting the floors wet and dragged him out of the place. ૮ ․ ․ ྀིა comissioned cover by: @anis233yaya [everything i write in my work should not be tied to the artist.] ૮ ․ ․ ྀིა socials: @tenshisoleil at X ૮ ․ ․ ྀིა NOTE: I'm the orginal author of this work. my previous account was binded with just a twitter account that i dont think it's secure enough so i made a new account.

Eden wonders if there's a rule in Heaven that Angels can't gossip. Although the Heavenly Court was silent, the Angels' in attendance scornful gaze towards him spoke loudly of what they thought of him.

Eden stood at the center of the courtroom. He wasn't tied up or was chained up because the Seraphims didn't see the need to; Raphael has healed all the Nephilim's injuries but he can't make him grow a new pair of wings, and Eden is in their domain with all the Archangels present. He couldn't escape even if he wanted to.

The seven Archangels were to the front of him, staring down at him as if he were a criminal and his heterochromia eyes stared back at them. He would rather be somewhere else than with these holier than thou.

Their kind were the victims and yet they are painted as the villains.

But to be truthful, he doesn't care about what they think. They have already achieved justice. There was nothing more to be done but wait for the archangels to lay a judgment on him that was without a doubt a sentence to death.

Humans are God's precious creation after all.

Eden wasn't scared of death rather he welcomed it. He was the last of his kind after all. Being in a world where everyone and everything is against you, it's better to just leave.

"Eden." One of the archangels spoke with a smile on their lips. Eden couldn't tell their gender even by their voice. Their facial features were androgynous with long brown hair tied into a braid with sharp yet loving hazel eyes. "You have a nice name. Paradise. Your parents have good taste." They said, Eden scoffed.

"Spare me the mindless chatter and just get on with this. Breathing the same air as any of you any longer might make me kill myself instead."

"You should mind your manners, child." An Archangel with dark skin and hollow eyes said, before turning to the smiling Archangel, "Zadkiel, at least be offended."

The Archangel named Zadkiel just shrugged their shoulders in response.

Mikhail cleared his throat, "Let's begin shall we? Uriel, if you please."

Uriel stood up, he was the one with the hollow eyes. He addressed the room. "Usually Metatron would be the one to lead this court but due to ….. unforeseen circumstances, we archangels were given the task instead and the decision that holds this child's fate."

"This will be straightforward," Uriel looked down at Eden. Eden couldn't see his eyes but he could tell his gaze was likely accompanied with detestation. "And fair trial where in the end, we would vote on whether this child's sins is forgivable or not and whatever vote we decided upon, judgment of our decision will not be tolerated if I catch wind of it. Now,"

Uriel beckoned a Cherubim that was standing at the side of the court. She looked to be nine to eleven years old. She skipped happily to the middle of the room, pulled out a scroll from her satchel and started reading out Eden's sins and only his sins, without any mentions of what the humans have done to them.

Eden almost burst out in laughter if he hadn't clasped his hand over his mouth.

'Ha.. this is fucking hilarious. What part of this is a fair trial?'

But then again, what did he expect?

Eden closed his eyes. He could feel his sword was somewhere near but when he willed it to come, for some reason it couldn't. He let out a sigh. He wasn't planning anything with it. He just wanted the sword to be by his side when he gets executed.

Adamas, the sword was precious to him. He took a mental note to request for it later. If the Archangels were benevolent enough to grant his last wish anyway.

Eden does wonder, where would his soul go after this? Would it be Hell since they were born from sin?

Regardless, he doesn't mind if it's Hell or any other place as long as he's reunited with his family and everyone back in his community. There's so much he wanted to say to them, especially to his sister that he failed to protect.

"Eden."

Uriel's voice made Eden return to reality. He noticed the little girl had gone back to the side of the room. "It seems your own sins bore you."
