The football player

As I take Ely's hand, I automatically see him different, his straight brown hair, his intense gray eyes, his cream skin covering his muscles, and the best looking jawline I had ever seen in my life, had he been handsome all of this time, "Do I have something on my face?" said Ely, Oh my gosh, did he just catch me staring at him? "No...I just don't think I look good..."I said, "Dont worry you look pretty" said Ely, "I dont think so..." I said, Ely responded saying, "You are pretty, you have intense hazel eyes, olive skin, black wavy hair, and-, "ok I get it..."I said with a squeaky voice, "Any person that doesn't see you as pretty as you already are, is an idiot" said Ely, "Do you think I'm pretty?" I said, oh my gosh! what did I just say, Ely was about to respond but the school bell rang. "Come on we are going to be late" said Ely.

I let go of his hand "What's wrong Nicole?" said Ely, "This is high school right...what if people think were you know...dating..." I said trying not not to blush with all my force, "let them think what they want" Ely responded confident, I nodded and took his hand again, we walked and entered high school, it wasn't long before everyone in the hall was looking at us, I swear I could hear them whispering if we were a couple, not that it bothered me, but what does Ely think about it? In the end we ignored them, and looked at our first class on a big whiteboard that had people's names and their first class, "I have Room 108" said Ely, Ely pointed at my name on the whiteboard... Room 108, I smiled so big, that I remember my cheeks started hurting when I stopped smiling, "Come on" said Ely, I nodded and followed Ely with our hands still being held together.

Soon enough Ely and I saw our first class in Room 108 "History" my favorite subject, Ely then stopped holding my hand, it was nice...even if it was only for a few minutes, his warm touch... We went inside and saw the teacher, she looked really mean she was wearing a high ponytail, and had a stern face, but what was the saying most people say? oh right, "dont judge a book by its cover", "y'all have assigned seats please look in this paper for your name and desk number"said the teacher, nevermind I think she is mean...The desks were lined up by every fifth desk, Ely sat at desk number 5, while I looked for my desk number on the paper, desk 10, behind Ely...I was about to take my seat when a girl with shorth blond curly hair, and white skin, took my seat and said "This is my desk", "Oh my bad I must have seen wrong" I said, "Leave her alone Ashley, I already know you dont sit there, I specifically choose your desk infront of me" said the teacher, "This is so unfair Mrs.Johnson!" said Ashley with an annoyed face.

It seemed that the teacher and this girl Ashley, had already known each other, does that mean that Ashley failed freshman year? By the looks of it, it seemed that Ashley was a troublemaker...Ashley rapidly got on her feet and purposely bumped onto my shoulder, the whole class started going "ooohh", "Apologize to her" said Ely, "Its alright, Ashley didn't do it on purpose..." I said with a low voice "Looks like she doesn't need an apology" said Ashley with a grin, she confidently walked to her seat, Ely gave me a weird look, but I knew what he meant, hed meant that I should stand up for myself...but it isn't an easy thing to do especially since Ely, has been the one to do that part for me...

Class ended and we went to our second class, Ely and I didn't get the same class as before, he got Room 206, which was math on the second floor, and I got Room 168 which was science, at first I was obviously sad but it wasn't all bad, I met a nice hispanic girl named Vanessa, with black long hair, and curly bangs that reached her chin, she was a very talkative person, but I didn't mind because I usually didn't talk, except with Ely ofcourse. She presented me to one of her friends, his name was Alex, I think she tried setting us up on a date, because when she asked me if I was single, she automatically brought up that Alex was also single, he wasn't bad looking or anything, he just wasn't my type, but then again what is my type...

After my second class finished which was Room 154 "Reading", I went to my third class but it wasn't interesting, I didn't make a new friend, and I didn't see a familiar face. When lunch time came, I hurried to find Ely, but I didn't like what I saw, Ely was sitting alone on a lunch table,with a bunch of whispering girls sitting behind Ely, I didn't want them to get any ideas of us dating, ofcourse I didn't want to leave him alone but I didn't want any rumors going around school, I know what rumors can do to your life... so instead I tried looking for Vanessa or Alex at least, since they were probably the only people I got along with besides Ely, I kept looking for them but I couldn't find them.

I felt someone tap my shoulder, I expected it to be Ely but it wasn't him, "Hi Alex" I said "Wanna eat lunch together"said Alex, "sure but where's Vanessa?"I said, "She has B lunch" said Alex with possibly a grin? maybe it was just my imagination, "Alright let's find somewhere were we can have a seat together" I said, we took our seats next to some muscular boys that wore the same blue sweaters but different numbers on the back. "They're football players" said Alex, I nodded and kept deeply staring at them "D-Do you like one of them" said Alex with the squequiest cutest voice I've probably ever heard, "No It just that there went any football players back in my old school" I said with a teasing voice, Alex nodded and it seemed that he was...smiling? I started hearing the football players whispering and soon enough one of them sat next to Alex, the football player probably whispered something probably mean to Alex because, he got up from his seat with anger and sadness in his dark brown eyes.

"I have to go... see you around Nicole" said Alex, "See you around Alex" I said, I didn't notice it at first, but it seemed that while I was eating, the football player had been watching me eat...I felt awkward eating in front of the football player, so I went to the bathroom, I washed my hands and face with soap quickly and got out of the bathroom. I bumped onto a large figure, I looked up and saw the same football player that had been staring at me while I was eating my lunch, I said "sorry", and I tried to walk around him but he blocked my way, I tried the same thing on the other side but he blocked me again..."My name is Zac"said the football player, I nodded and just kept looking intensely down at the floor. Zac gently put a finger under my chin and forced me to look at him, Zac closed his eyes and slowly kept getting closer to my face, at that moment I was so shocked my eyes were probably about to pop out of my head and I couldn't even move, so I just waited for my first kiss to be stolen by this football player.

"Leave her alone Zac" said someone behind me, I turned around and saw Vanessa, I had never been so happy to see her, ofcourse I'd only seen her today but I was still happy, "Mind your own business Vanessa" said Zac "Its my business" said Vanessa, Vanessa pulled her phone out of her back pocket and started recording, "Say hi to the blog Zac" said Vanessa grinning really devilish, In the end Zac rolled his eyes and walked away, "He didn't do anything to you right?"said Vanessa, "No... he just gave me a small scare" I said, " I gotta get to class now but dont freeze like that again ok?" said Vanessa, I nodded and she walked back to her class, I went back to lunch and saw Ely heading out, "Hey" said Ely, "Hey" I said, "Let's go to class together, I already checked and the rest of our classes are together" said Ely, "sure let's go together" I said, the rest of the day is normal except for our last class...

"So you and Ely are only bestfriends?" says Vanessa and Alex, "Yeah..." I say awkwardly, Ely seems so chill about this weird coversation... currently we are in our last class talking about my relationship with Ely which is obviously awkward, but were save from a loud bang that opens the door to our classroom. "Zac is right here on time!", says Zac screaming with a playful voice , in my mind I tell myself really?... Zac is going to be in my last class of the day of the rest of my freshman year. I roll my eyes and the worst things happens "Hi Nicole" says Zac, everyone in the classroom turns around and looks at me with a concerning face, things had just gotten even more awkward...
