The Truth About Tomoe

"Hey man, I want to ask you something." A man behind me suddenly calls me and wants to ask a question. I turn my head around and see the head of the man calling me and he stares right at me. It's creepy, you know? He wears a spectacle and has neat short-black hair. I think he's around 30 based on wrinkles on him. "What do you want?" I ask him with an annoyed tone to let him know that he's annoyed me.

"A woman who was just with you before, is there by any chance that she's Ochimura Tomoe?" The f*ck!? How does he know her? ...Hmm, he can be one of her friends and he asks because I think he just wants to confirm it. Yeah, that must be it. "Yeah, she is. Are you her friend?" I say. He fixes his glasses position and speaks again. "Friend, huh? I'm used to being more than that. After the divorce, I married my assistant and we have our first child two months ago. That's the story."

... ...I'm... speechless. No words come out of my mouth. I can't say anything after hearing his story. I don't know if it's true or not but it's possible. She asks in curious. She manages to see him but not his face, that's why she asks. Is she, though? It's not like I don't believe her, it just that for someone who has spend five years together, it's almost unheard of unless one of them went through plastic surgery or involved in an accident but he's not.

"Oh, nothing. Just someone who wants to talk. You know how men are, right?" I lie. I have to. If not, it might ruin the date and also remind her of the past. I don't want tonight becomes a sour night because of him. I'll tell her eventually, just not tonight. Tonight, let us enjoy our time and moment together until tomorrow before Erika and I go to the destination for a vacation.
