Half-Way There

I'm in my room, sitting on the chair, doing nothing at 9 at night. I was asleep for 30 minutes in the afternoon, waiting for the food Erika had ordered using my money. When the food arrived, she woke me up and told me to eat. We ate like normal and after that, I went to sleep again till dinner. Here I am right now after had showered and have nothing to do.

Oh wait, I need to tell Ms. West that she is the only candidate that piques my interest which means that she's hired to work as an accountant for the shop. *Taking out phone* Okay, where is her number...? Ah, here it is. I press the green phone symbol button and wait for her to pick up the phone. Not even a second, she picks it up, "Hello, is this Mr. Izanagi?" It looks like she saved my number after I gave it to her at the cafe where we did the interview.

"Yes, it's me. I'm calling you today to announce that you are hired! Congratulation. You exceed every single factor we need in our accountant. I hope we can work together after this."

*Gasp* "Really!? Ooh, thank you so much! Thank you! x4. I can't believe that I get the job, I'm still young yet I manage to get a job, thank you, God!" She doesn't stop thanking me and God. I wonder why, it's not like this is her first job. She said that she used to work as an accountant for a famous person before but quit after he tried to rape her. This story never got published to the public since both sides agreed to not let this event be known to people as it can affect his career and her life.

I tell her that I expect her a few days later to start her first day as an accountant. She totally accepts it judging from her excitement. Then, we hang up. Huh, 'never judge a book by its cover', I believe in this proverb but I never expect it to happen another way around. When I first see her, she looks like a serious, professional person but after the call, she definitely did not seem like that anymore. Maybe she puts up that disguise since it was an important interview for her.

Well, now that the matter is done, I need to hire workers to work there after the renovation is done. Ugh, I don't want to go through that madness again, I'll just give the task to one of my buddies then but who...? The twin is definitely a no-go since they will probably prank them. I call him and tell him about the task and he agrees without hesitation. He says that he trusts me and will make sure that he hires the best workers. Before we hang up, I remember one of the ex-candidates for an accountant who is a single mother in her 40s and needs a job.

She didn't pass the requirement for the job as she doesn't have job experience and is busy taking care of her child. Having said that, I think it's a great idea to straight away hire her to be working as a clerk for the shop. So, I give him her phone number and tell him to call her and tell her that he is one of my job partners. He agrees. Then, we hang up.

Now, I don't know what to do. The past few days have been so busy for me, so I think it's only fair if I get to be lazy for a while. So, I turn on my computer to play games but before I manage to look for a game, Rena calls me with 'Discussion'. Why that she always calls me whenever I use my computer and not when I'm not using it? It's like she knows when I do or do not use it. No matter what, I have to pick up her call.

"Yo, Rena. How it's going? You good?" I greet her.

"Yeah, everything is fine. Say, Kai, are you busy next week?" She asks.

"I don't know yet. Why?" Is anything gonna happen next week? I don't think I've heard of any event that occurs on that day.

"It's nothing, I just want to know if you want to go to the Game Convention which gonna be held in Tokyo. There are a lot of things in there like new games announcement, available merchandise, discount on some old games, meetings with games developers like Antony Heart who is the head of the team behind the making of God Judgement, and more. Since we both are famous streamers, we'll get a Special Pass that allows us to enter a few places that are forbidden for normal visitors. Besides, we can use this opportunity to finally meet face-to-face without any monitor or camera in front of us. We have known each other for a few months yet we never meet in real life, only using the Internet to communicate. So, what do you think?"

... ...Meet her in real life? Of course, I want! I'm sick of using the Internet to talk to her, I want to meet her face-to-face, too. "Uh, Kai? Are you there?"

"Huh? Ye-yes, I'm here. I think it's a great idea! But I didn't receive any invitation, did you?" She says she did and maybe I'll get it later.

"I'll meet you there, Kai! Bye!" She cut off the call and leave me hanging here. Hmm, she feels different from before, she's like... more confident, I think that's the right word to describe what I feel when I was talking to her.

Put that aside, I finally can meet her in person. I've been waiting for a perfect opportunity to meet her but never get the chance to do so. Thank you to whoever held the convention, I give you my biggest gratitude. I can't wait for the day to arrive.

Rena's POV: *Exhale* You did the right choice, Rena. You've thought about this many times before and he wants to meet you, too! So, there's nothing to worry about.

Ugh, I don't know where I got the confidence to invite him to meet. I don't I'll ever get that kind of confidence again. I hope I do not regret doing this.
