Continue Looking

We're still looking for a place for her to stay and we've still not found any place that is suitable for her yet. We go to the city to see if there are any cheap places to stay. But, this is a city we've talked about, I don't know if we can find any. Even if they exist, I don't think it gonna be in great condition, though. You know, people can't make a profit if they sold it at a cheap price but the place is in perfect condition. No profit at all! ...Okay, why did I act like a businessman all of a sudden?

Anyway, we come to the city in the living area where you can buy or rent places like condominiums, apartments, bungalows, and other things here. This place is really great with everything in perfect condition but of course, it's expensive and she can't afford that. I can help her but she's stubborn. So, we make a negotiation with the owner of the house to make the rent cheaper. He says he can do that if she's willing to sleep with him. Just as she hears that she slaps him right in the face and left a red mark on it. Then, because we don't want to deal with the aftermath of her action, we get away from him as far as we can. Whew! Almost.

Now, we are at the apartment area and go into the lobby where the guards are on duty at their chairs. We ask them about the owner of the apartment and his number and he gives them. We thank him and go away a bit to not let them hear anything. We dial the number and wait until he picks up the phone. It's quite a long waiting before he finally picks it up. About time!

She puts it on the speaker to let me hear too. They greet each other and he asks what he can do. Then, she asks him if there is any available unit in his apartment that she can rent. He then asks her back what kind of unit she is looking for, like the space, the price, and the condition. She says that she wants a small unit enough for one person, the price, if it okay she wants it to be decent, and the condition is decent too. She's quite picky, isn't she?

He says that he has one unit that is still available and meet all of her requirement. He will come and show it himself as he is the only one who knows every crook and nook of his apartment. Then, he cuts off the call and leaves us hanging. So... the only choice we have right now is to wait for him to come. We don't know how long it might take for him to come here, maybe half an hour or more! Because we don't want to just wait, we go to the food stall I see when we first came in.

She agrees. So, we walk to the stall while chatting a bit about general things, nothing so boring. Then, we arrived at the stall and see that they sell fried food only. Actually, there is another stall next to it that sells beverages. I don't know how I miss that, hmm. Not just that but apparently, there are actually a round table and chairs for four people and currently, it's empty a few meters from the stalls. Seriously, how can I miss that!?

Worried that the table may be taken by other people, she aggressively drags me to the stalls and buys any food we can get, and hurriedly runs to take the table. Relax, woman! there's no one here except for us and the stall. So, calm down! And, she's quite strong, too. Is it because the thought of having the table taken by others makes all adrenaline in her body activate?

We sit on the chair and try the food that she buys without even looking. Before I take a bite, I look at her with so many questions going on in my mind and I don't have the answer to any of the questions. She looks at me too confused, "What? Why are you looking at me?"

"No, nothing." I take a bite of the corndog with cheese on it and it tastes normal as you would expect from a stall like that. Nothing special about it. Then, I take a sip of the drink, I think it's called Sunny Juice or something, and WOW! The orange flavor in it is so strong! Aaagh, I don't know if it's good or not but at least, it's delicious, so I don't really mind.

Rebecca, on the other hand, doesn't look like she's satisfied with the fried chicken tender. "Haaa, who told you to randomly order food like that, huh? I could just take the table and let you order the food."

"How it was my fault?! You didn't say anything!" She raises her voice. Looks like she's getting irritated by my comment. Hehehe...

"You didn't let me! Whenever I tried to say anything, you shut me off!" Well, because she's raising her voice like that, I do the same thing too. Fire with fire! Not exactly a good idea, actually.

We keep shouting at each other, throwing all the excuses and reasons we can get to get a victory, a win that shows who is the right one.

While we're arguing, a man in his 40s step in and stop us. We're a bit shocked that he comes out of nowhere and stops us just like that. "*Sigh* You two are adults, why are you two fighting like a child, huh? It doesn't look mature at all. Try to act like your age next time." The old man says.

We nod in unison and apologize to each other. Now that this thing is done, we ask him who is and why is him here.

With a smirk and a proud laugh, he introduces himself. "My name is James Libberton, the owner of the apartments here! I'm here because I receive a call saying that they want to rent a unit in my apartment, so I'm on my way to meet them. Where are there, by the way? Are you two happened to come across a woman here?"

We're dumbfounded when he says he is the owner here and are you stupid, old man? Can't you see a woman here beside me?
