Coincidence

On the same day as the previous chapter, people pass by the cafe where Kai and his buddies hang out. It has been three hours since they have been hanging out when time passes 12, they say goodbye to each other as they each have something to do. Kai goes out of the cafe, walks to the left a bit, and stands in front of the cafe windows left side. He thinks, I have to find a way to apologize to all people I mess with, but that's for later, now I have to buy some groceries to make lunch for us.

He then walks to the supermarket a mile away from his home and grabs a shopping basket that was provided by the supermarket at the entrance. Walk to the ingredients area where all kinds of ingredients are sold here. The vegetable aisle is his first target as he wants to make tempura and karaage for lunch. So, potato and dashi are needed to make tempura while karaage needs ginger, Chicken thigh, cornflour, and vegetable oil.

After searching and taking anything needed from the Vegetable aisle, he looks for his next target, which is the Wet Food area to buy dozens of shrimp, chicken thighs, fish, and other things, too. While he is searching, he notices someone familiar on the right side that is about two meters away from him, someone that he met a while ago when he was with his younger sister, Erika. "Wait... Ayaka? You're Ayaka, right?" He asks her for confirmation in case he is wrong.

"Hmm? Oh, hi Kai. I didn't see you there. How are you?" Just as she notices him, she immediately greets him with a gentle smile and a bow. He replies with a bow too and says that he is doing good and also asks her back. She is good, too. "Oh, how is your sister? It's been a while since we met at the convenience store." She also asks whether his sister is here with him while taking a look behind him. He tells her that his sister is okay and she is not here because he just from hanging out with his old friends. He wants to ask her about her younger sister, Rina when he suddenly remembers that he sees her almost every day.

He then asks her why she is here since he thoughts that she is busy with work. "My boss gives me a break for today since there are some personal matters she has to attend to, so I come here to buy some ingredients to make lunch for my sister, it's been so long since the last time we eat together. I hope she's happy when I go home early."

He slightly smiles and tells her that he is sure she will be happy when she has time to spend time together. They talk while searching for ingredients when she notices that he has dozens of shrimp in the plastic bag also a few other things, too. "Are you planning to cook Tempura and Karaage for lunch, Kai-kun? I notice that you have the right ingredients, so I wonder if you can cook. I'm sorry if I being rude, but I never met a man that knows how to cook." She makes sure to apologize after asking that question.

"No, no, it's okay. I never met them too, so I have the same prejudice as you. But, yes, I can cook. I learn how to cook after my parents died in order to cut some costs on daily food, therefore I can save more money in case an emergency happens. Lucky for me, Erika likes the food that I made and she has been so eager to eat the food." He says with a slightly embarrassed face.

"Waah, Erika-chan loves her big brother's homemade food. So cute~." He is a bit shocked but decides to ignore that. He then invites her to walk together after pay since they gonna take the same route to their house. Along the way, they talk a lot about their daily life. She also laughed at his jokes. When they arrive at her house, she invites him in to repay his kindness with a cup of tea. He agrees. When they are inside, she asks him to sit on the couch and wait for her to make tea for him, and so did. After sitting on the couch, footsteps can be heard on the second floor to the stairs and Rina can be heard calling her big sister to see if it is true that she's home. Down the stairs, she sees that her big sister is truly home, and immediately went for a hug. Ayaka hugs her back.

This is a precious moment for them, so he and his sister decide to not disturb them. "Wait... Erika? What are you doing here?" Notice that his sister is standing beside him makes him confused. "What do you mean? Rina-chan is my best friend, is it wrong to hang out at her house? Don't look at me like that, she was the one who invited me to keep her company while also helping her with some homework, like yesterday. I text you half an hour ago, do you even check your smartphone when you're hanging out?"

... ...Silence. He cannot say anything as she keeps verbally attacking him with her stinging words. "And why are you here, with Ayaka-nee san, alone in the living room? Did you plan to do something bad to her, huh, big bro? Am I in a way of your plan?" She keeps hurting him with her words. He just can keep his head bowed.

"...Eh? K-Kai-nii san? W-Why are you here? Did you come here... to see me?" Rina notices that her crush is in her house, hoping that he comes to see her. But, her hopes are shattered to pieces after Ayaka says, "I invited him in to repay his kindness for walking with me from the supermarket after buying a few things for lunch. Oh right, Rina, do you want to have lunch with me? It's been so long since we eat together and I'm sorry if I don't have much time to spend time with you."

Kai notices that Ayaka tries to make up for the time she had wasted working instead of spending time with her sibling. "Let's go home, Erika. Do you want Tempura and Karaage for lunch? I've bought a few things to make it happen. So, how is it?" He decides to leave them alone. "...Tempura?! Of course, let's go! Ey, Rina-chan~, we meet tomorrow, okay? I want to eat Tempura that my big bro makes."

"Whaa... Already? H-how about tea, don't you want to try it?" She actually says that to Kai, not Erika. "Wait, I want to give you this. This is a special tea that my boss gives me after she went back from China. I want you to take it, please." She hands out a bag of leaves of tea, the bag is small, so it's easy to carry. He takes it and thanks her for it. Then, they go back to their house. "Hey, big bro, Ayaka-nee san is pretty, right?" Erika suddenly asks the question when they walking. "Yeah, she is. Why?"

"So, do you like her? I'm down if she becomes my sister-in-law, you know."

"... ...No comment."

Hehehe, I know you are, big bro. You just won't accept it. Don't worry, I'll make it happen. I promise. She thoughts.
