chapter 7: The Virgin

After Sam closed the door, he turned to her and said, "My mother likes you", Evon was about to smile, when he said, "It will be so easy to convince her that we are in love". Evon was forced into the reality that this was a plan to deceive his mother a deception she has agreed to.

"My mother wants me to settle down so I can have someone take care of me, she doesn't believe I am taking care of myself, that the company may kill me as it did my father

Sam then chuckled as he said, "I think her main reason is she wants a gran child", When Sam said the word gran child, Evon blushed and looked down. Sam was surprised and told her, "Remember the marriage won't last long enough for that".

With a straight face, he said, tonight's date is booked as my mother will be expecting us at her place. So, you can leave early so you can prepare properly for the visit. I will send the driver to come pick you up.

Sam took the contract and kept it in the safe in his office and said. "As soon as the marriage is official you can stop working but for now, I will tell the admin to start looking for a replacement for you". He looked at her and said, "It will be so hard to replace you, you are one of the best". Sam smiled at her and said, I am not saying this because you are going to be my wife, it really the truth.

Evon was smiling as she looked at Sam and said, "You are a great boss to work with too". Evon couldn't look at Sam as she noticed the chemistry between them was strong, she had not noticed it because she was such a professional. And now with the proposal and the kiss they have shared, things have changed between them.

She believes she could let her emotions run free. But she needs to be careful because this is business to him and it should be to her too; but is it.

Sam smiled as he said, "We need to know each other enough to play this game well. All I know about you is in your file and what you said in the restaurant last night. Is there something else you would like me to know?

Evon looked at Sam and said, "I don't think there is anything I want to add, except I am a virgin and would like to keep it like that until I fall in love and marry my true love.

Sam was shocked and saw that she was telling the truth. He looked at her and said, "I won't force you to do anything you don't want to do".

Evon looked at him and said, "This is business and the first rule of running a successful business is, never to mix business with pleasure. So, let's keep this strictly business. Evon got up and walked out of his office.

Sam was not surprised to discover that Evon was a virgin it gave him great pleasure that she was a properly brought up lady. A thought now crossed his mind, was the kiss they shared her first? The thought pleased him to know he gave her her first kiss. And as he allowed the thought to linger longer, he began to think about her. He then remembered the look on her face when she said, business and pleasure don't mix. He has to remember that this is business. He then called her and said, dinner is with my mother by 6 pm. You can leave now so you can get prepared. She told him she would like to leave by 4 pm, so she could get a gift for his mother. He smiled and thought, 'She is playing the role so well'. He turned to her and said, "I might give you a promotion if you keep this up. My mother love fruits, any kind will do, so get her a basket full and she will love you for it".

Evon left his office to finish for the day. As she dropped the phone and continued typing on the computer, her mind kept thinking of how she would tell her mother and father that she just gotten engaged to her boyfriend and he was her boss; a boyfriend she just got. Her mind began to work out a plan on how she will begin to involve Sam in her life.
