|Chapter 8| Rowan's Ex-Girlfriend

Baara was shocked when she saw the different waitress serving the food.

She was one of the students who bullied her in high school.

The waitress had a surprised face when she glanced at Baara.

Baara smiled at her, the waitress served, and hurriedly left.

Rowan and the other guest were taking pictures.

Ariel left her seat to meet her parents who are talking to Rowan's parents.

"Are we going to stay overnight?" Baara asked Eve.

"It depends, do you want to stay with them at the penthouse overnight, or do you have to go work?" Eve asked back.

"Hmm, uhh I don't know what to decide right now". Baara said with a contemplating facial expression.

"You can stay with us, the party is not yet over, we are going to celebrate it in the penthouse, it has a rooftop swimming infinity pool, this party is just formal". Daphne said standing up.

"Hmm, ok I will stay". Baara said with surety.

"Good". Eve said smiling at her.

"Yessss!". Baara replied giggling.

"Hmm, alright ladies let's go take pictures," Freya spoke out as Ariel called out to her to join in a group picture.

Beryl was still eating so she couldn't join them.

"Everyone!, wear your best smiles," Ariel said holding up a phone.

'Click'.

she takes a picture.

"Alright, this will do," She said looking at the picture.

"Only one?". Daphne asks.

"Mmm-mn". Ariel answered.

"Hmm, it's not bad". Rowan said looking at the picture.

Then he notices Eve and turned to her with an apologetic face.

"Hey Eve, I am sorry I couldn't come to greet you, I was occupied". Rowan apologized to Eve.

Eve laughed.

"There is no problem, you thought I wouldn't come".

"That's true," Rowan said and turns to Baara who he hasn't seen before and is beside Eve.

"Hey, my name is Rowan, Geal told me that you are Eve's friend, nice to meet you". He said stretching his hand for a shake.

Rowan had that charming face, he looked cute and handsome at the same time, he has a very fine jawline with large light brown eyes, and eyelashes look like that of a girl.

Baara redden as her thoughts were running wild.

'Oh My God!, he is so handsome too just like his friend.....Huh, his friend talked about me to him?'.

Baara stretched her hands also to accept Rowan's shake.

"Nice to meet you too, I am Baara".

A guest calls out to Rowan.

"Hey Rowan!, it's been a long time".

An average-height beautiful lady dressed in a silk white bodycon gown, with a mellifluous voice, calls out to Rowan.

Rowan turns to see who that is and was very surprised.

"Oh my. It's been a long time, I didn't know you came, how did you know, I am sorry for not inviting you I forgot since we have lost contact with each other".

"Geal invited me, he told me about your birthday celebration last week and I decided why not?". She said with a smile.

"Wow, Geal keeps surprising me". Rowan said.

And she laughed.

"Yh and I told him not to say anything about me to you, I wanted it to be a surprise".

"It sure was one".

"Are you going now or you would like to stay at the penthouse, I am sure Geal told you about it too".

"Yeah, sure! I am going to stay, why would I leave now?".

"Oh! That's fine". Rowan said a bit nervous.

"Alright excuse me, I would like to speak to some other guests before they leave, and once again thank you for coming today". Rowan said walking away.

"The pleasure is mine". She said with a smile on her face.

Rowan walks away from there and walks fast out of the restaurant.

The lady smirked and turned to the others who were still looking at her with curious faces, especially Nate and Waylen.

"Heyyyyy guys!" She said waving her hands at them.

"Finley?!" Nate called out still surprised and curious.

"Yeah it's me, I am back". She said with a prideful face.

Freya looked at Daphne and giggled.

"Why are you giggling?" Ariel asked.

" Nothing, I am out of here!". Freya said flatly not interested in anything that was happening around her as she walks out.

"Wait for me!" Ariel called out following Freya.

Finley rolled her eyes at the two of them.

Daphne had a disgusted look on her face. She hated this girl more than she hated Freya.

'Why is she here, what does she want?'.

Daphne thought to herself.

Finley looked at Daphne and smiled.

"Hey, I knew you would be here too",

"What do you mean by that?" Daphne asked flatly.

Finley looked at Daphne with an expression saying You know what I mean.

"Don't give me that look, if you can't explain don't ask vague questions, and go straight to the point". Daphne said to Finley with a straight face.

Finley shrugs and turns to Eve and Baara.

"Hey I have not seen you guys before, I am Finley, Rowan's ex-girlfriend". She introduced herself to them with a smug expression.

"I am Eve and this is Baara, my friend, it's nice to meet you," Eve said.

"Oh nice, you guys are so pretty, I am sure we would relate well and soon become friends" Finley replied.

'Hmm, I don't think so'. Baara said in her mind as she was not impressed with the way Finley introduced herself, wondering in her mind why someone would introduce herself with pride as someone's ex-girlfriend, and with the way she behaved towards the rest of the friend group she doesn't seem like someone that she can relate with because she doesn't make friends that easily and especially not with someone who seems to have a narcissistic vibe and is prideful.

Eve just smiled lightly at the statement and left with Baara.

Noticing that everyone is leaving her, she turned to Waylen who was sitting in front of her.

"Where is Nate and where did the others go to?".

"Oh, He just left to see his girlfriend out and I don't know for the others". Waylen replied as he is playing with his phone.

'Oh,' Finley said as she sat down on one of the seats near Waylen.

She looks around and saw Daphne and some waitresses carrying the gifts from the table where they were placed out of the restaurant.

"Hey, tell me what has been going on since I left for school, especially about Rowan". She leaned closer to Waylen and asked.
