65 Truth Lies Beneath

You see Nick running around the corner with his gear on and you know he's on a mission. You're not feeling too well but you know that your heart has sunk with the thought that Nick is going out there to fight and you don't know if he'll come back alive. 

You shake your head in an attempt to get the thought out of your mind. You can't think that way, you have to believe that he'll come back alive. You feel how gentle Sergeant Vincent put you down on the bed. You look him in the eyes and realize that he's staring at you. You try to avoid his stare and then you see his cheeks turn bright red. You smile a little and then thank him.

"Thank you so much, Sergeant"

"No problem mam"

Nita comes storming in, not looking too happy. "What's going on? What happened?"

You smile at her, lifting your hands in the air, surrendering to her stare.
