Roar!!!!

"What is that?"

Jason said when he heard the roars of several monsters while they became running in a certain direction.

"Did someone activate a luring device? But who could be that foolish" said Jason who quickly looked at the direction in which the monsters are heading "it must be one of those foolish kids"

Jason did not waste anymore time as he also flew in that direction.

Elsewhere

Dean Silas was already in a tight corner after he encountered Jason a few minutes ago who was not very pleased with him showing up in the wastelands especially when he was here on a special mission.

And now an idiot from his academy has activated a luring device drawing the monsters to themselves.

He also did not waste any time as he gathered the students with him while sending some of his best instructors to get the other students spread out and return to the Academy with immediate effect.

"Go, leave without me"

"And leave you to die here, what sort of person do you take me for?"

"Just go, I am only holding you back, I saved you from those boys not so that you can come and die with me here, and besides I can take care of myself"

"How? Last time I checked, you could not even walk properly by yourself, so how are you going to take care of yourself being chased by some lunatics and monsters who would stop at nothing until they tear into your skin"

"That's why you should go without me least you might just end up being a monster's food, same as me"

"Yeah, I will take my chances, it is better I die here with you than live the rest of my life as someone who is ungrateful to the one who saved her"

Jace and Eve bickered back and forth against each other.

Jace knew that if he was to let Eve continue to carry him while running, they might never make it out alive.

He did not want her to die as that would mean that he was here for nothing.

Earlier in the day, he overheard the boys saying that they were going to have a taste of Eve and end her life.

He did not understand what they mean by having a taste of her but what he did understand is the ending her part and that was what made him to come to her rescue in the first place so now she wanting to die along side him was not really what he signed up for.

Thud!!

Jace fell face flat on the ground as he patted heavily for breath "I can not continue anymore, you can leave me all by myself, don't worry, you don't have to live the rest of your live hating yourself for what happened to me" said Jace trying his very best to convince Eve to live.

"Don't even think about repeating what you just said, I am not going to live you here all by yourself, so grab my hands" said Eve stretching her hands to Jace.

Jace sighed as what he planned was not what he got but good thing he has a backup plan.

As soon as Eve stretched her hands for Jace to grab, he immediately pulled out a syringe that is with him always in case of emergencies like this, and stabbed it into Eve causing her to sleep instantly.

"That will keep you out until the others get to you" said Jace while getting up and looked at Eve one last time before running in another direction.

When he was a great distance away from Eve, he brought out another luring device from god knows where and pressed the button on it, drawing all the monsters away from Eve to him.

"I am as good as dead anyway, might just make my last moments epic" said Jace with a sad smile.

Jace heard the monsters roars as they changed their direction to his current location.

"But I won't just go down trying" said Jace as he threw the device with all of his strength away from him and ran in the opposite direction.

Meanwhile all of these was observed by Jason who just hover in the air "what a pathetic bastard, trying to be the hero just like his father" he said before turning around abandoning his nephew to carter for himself while he went to rescue the young girl who made his sickly nephew active today.

Jace began running for his life in the wastelands as he made his way to the walls hoping someone must have already gotten to Eve and helped her.

Meanwhile, unbeknownst to him, his Uncle has already arrived in the city and ordered the walls to be closed and in under no circumstances should that get be opened.

But even if his uncle did not do that, he will not still make it to the wall as he finally succumbed his fatigue and fell to the ground awaiting his eventual death.

"this is the end of my pitiful life, father I'm sorry that I could not fulfill the dream you had for me, I'm truly sorry" he said as he closed his eyes.

But death didn't answer his calls but something else or in his case, somethings.

During his final moments, something within him awakened causing a part of his hair to turn into an abyss like black hair.

And due to this, it attracted two floating orb of light flying at an extreme speed to halt and flew to him, merging with his being and completing his earlier awakening.

The monsters that was already close to him all froze on their feet as they felt an oppressive aura oozing out Jace's unconscious body.

Jace did not know what was going on in his body or outside his body as he had already lost his consciousness from the recent changes in his body so he was not able to hear what happened next.
