Tamra’s mother is a banker and she runs the family finance business. Even she does not have the liberty to do what she likes. Her Grandmother Aditi is a very calm and ideal woman. She never speaks or intervenes in any family matters. No one really knows much about her. She is like one of the furniture in the house. Without knowing where to go, Tamra hires a Taxi. The driver Ravi suggests she goes to his village Dantla, where she has many research sites. Agreeing to this, both reach Dantla. When she enters the village, she sees an abandoned burnt house. When she enquires about it, “Why don’t you go and ask your grandfather about it?” says an old woman with contempt. She also warns Tamra to leave the village immediately otherwise, she had to face the wrath of Tamra! Thinking the old woman must be senile, Tamra stays at Ravi’s house as a paying guest. The night she sets eyes on Kamal, she feels something strange and faints. That night, without her knowledge she wanders the deserted streets of Dantla and enters the burnt house. My name is Tamra...

Chapter 31:

Both Tamra and Arunika were in great pain. Not able to bear it, Kamal took a step forward. But He was stopped by a strong hand. It was the Sanyasi. He ordered him to stay calm.

"Tell me what you want from that devil?" asked Suraj again digging the dagger deep into the professor's flesh.

"Don't torture him, Suraj! I will tell you that"

Both professor and Suraj were startled by a new voice in the middle of the desert. The sanyasi came before them.

"Oh! It's you! You were behind all these?" asked the professor with great difficulty.

"Yes! I am. A true follower of Maa Kali." Replied the Baba.

"Hey! You! Tell what this evil wants from that devil?" demanded Suraj.

"Chintamani!"

"Chintamani? Eh?"

"Yes! It's a stone from ancient India. It has the power of changing any metal into gold. That is what he wants from Tamra." Told the sanyasi.

The prospect of turning all metal to gold made Suraj's eyes glitter with greed. He looked like a devil himself.

"Oho! She has that stone has she now? You are also after that I think?"

"Yes! We can share it. I will help you to get it from Tamra. But you have to get rid of this man." said the baba.

"No! Don't believe a word! He is lying through his skin. He is here probably to give Tamra salvation. Once you finish me, he has no opponent. He will help Tamra to get you. "Cried the professor.

Suraj looked at the sanyasi questioningly. He shrugged his shoulders.

"It's up to you. If you don't have to trust me, don't! But just remember he was the one to offer you as a bait to Tamra."

"Don't listen to him. He is a fraud. The moment I release Tamra, she won't spare you. It's because of me, that you are still alive." Shouted the professor.

"What do you have to offer me?" the professor asked the sanyasi.

"I am not a commercial man like Anil Rastogi. I am a Tantric who knows how to get Chintamani through a tormented soul. That's all I could tell! You are a very intelligent man, decide for yourself." Said the sanyasi looking at the moon. Now the full moon was almost half way through to the mid sky. He was very much worried. But did not show it.

"Come on Suraj! At least wait till the moon passes the mid sky. Then you will know" Said, the professor.

As if decided to wait, Suraj came and sat near the pattern. Sanyasi was now in a fix. If he did not act, then Tamra would suffer for eternity.

"Ok! Suits me! We all will wait. But if we don't complete the already started ritual, by the time moon comes to the mid sky, Tamra would be released from the spell. Once she is released…" without completing he gestured Suraj to look at Tamra and Arunika.

Both were staring un blinkingly at him with fumes coming out from their mouth.

"He is lying! Release me. I am the only person who could save …" Professor Rastogi was not able to finish his sentence, as Suraj Rathore stabbed him on the chest. He looked pathetically at Suraj and closed his eyes. There was no life left in him.

The moment Rastogi died, his spells were disabled. Tamra with a screech came near Suraj. She stood so close to him, he was unable to breath.

"Hey! Man! Get rid of this." shouted Suraj.

"Not yet Suraj Rathore! Not yet!" replied the Sanyasi. As Suraj was watching him, he made different pattern on the sand.

"I will start your salvation Mantras, you start your vengeance" said the Sanyasi smiling. Suraj tried to run, but was pulled back by Arunika. He also signed others to come out. Now Trikala, Kamal and Ravi were watching.

"Leave me Tamra! After all you loved me when you were alive! For the sake of love, you leave me!" begged Suraj.

"Love? You are talking about love? You used me for your lust. Then burnt me alive with a baby in my womb for the sake of wealth. I won't leave you!" said Tamra with a glowing eye. Suraj was shivering from top to toe. All his money, power, servants, nothing came useful. He ran away from that place. But as if by magic he came round and round to the same place where Tamra was standing. Now she started laughing.

"Look at the man who burnt us Trikala! Look at him Birju! How he is running like a rat." The ferocious laughter echoed through the desert.

"Tamra don't kill him immediately. Let him beg for death. Give him so much of pain so that he begs for death" cried Arunika. Birju and Trikala came nearer.

Laughing Tamra cast a streak of fire at Suraj. It went inside him and burnt his parts. He cried out loud in pain. Slowly his fingers turned black. From the other hand, blood started oozing out slowly. He felt dizzy. He could not tolerate any more.

"Please Tamra! Forgive me! I have sinned. Please punish me with death. This is unbearable." cried Suraj.

"Now you understand the pain? You know what is a pain in the heart? another streak of blue fire. It burnt Suraj's heart. He yelled with pain.

Tamra's fury was going on increasing. She looked like a Goddess of death. The happy days in the desert with Birju and Arunika made her infuriated. The happy life she was not able to lead because of Suraj Rathore made her soul burn even more. With a screech she shouted. "I won't leave you Suraj Rathore. All Rathores must die! Your blood should perish. "

Tamra stamped her feet on the ground. Suddenly with a yell Arunika fell down with a great pain.

Tamra did not expect this to happen.

"What Have I done? Oh! Arunika is a Rathore! I am sorry Aru! Again, I have caused you pain" with tears Tamra was begging Arunika to get up. Not able to bear anymore, Kamal rushed to Arunika.

"Aru! Look at me! I love you Aru! You cannot leave me. We have to live" cried Kamal with tears in his eyes.

Without saying anything Tamra went to the Sanyasi and begged "I am sorry! My fury was wrong. Please do something."

"Only you could bring her back Tamra. You are a very powerful soul. Use your primal energy to take back the curse. I was afraid this situation might arise. You decide. Whether you want your vengeance for which you have been waiting for such a long time, or you want Arunika to live?"

Tamra went near Arunika and started stroking her face. She was in tears. The happy memories came back to her. "I give up my vengeance for the sake of love and friendship Arunika. I want Suraj to be dead, But, more than that, I want you to live. I have done a great mistake by not listening to you. Dragging you to the mire of death. You sacrificed your love for Birju for my sake. Now it's my time. I am sacrificing my burning fury of vengeance. I want you alive. Come back Aru! Come back to your friend Birju. He is waiting for you.!" Said Tamra with a choking voice.

Trikala was sobbing uncontrollably. To everyone's tremendous relief, Arunika slowly opened her eyes.

"Now it is time for you say Good bye Tamra" reminded the sanyasi.

Casting a look at Suraj who was not able to cross the circle, she came to the center, where patterns were drawn by the Sanyasi. Now she was looking very beautiful. From her face and body golden light emerged. She looked as if she had repaid some kind of debt.

"Good bye Aru! Good Bye Birju! I am sorry for everything. Bye Trikala"

There came a bright light blinding everyone. When they were able to see no Tamra was there. In the place she stood there was a flower. It was a desert flower plucked by Her.

Arunika sobbed.

"What are you going to do now Arunika? Leave this man? Remember he is your grandfather." Asked the Sanyasi.

"No! Tamra might have pardoned him, But I have not!" crying hard, she stabbed Suraj in several places. The blood was all over the place. A great hole appeared on the ground and sucked the body of the Greedy, cruel, inhuman Suraj Rathore.

Angry roar from Arunika echoed in the whole desert.
