Anye Hotel.

Ground Lavi theatre.

Inside the Anye Hotel, at the Ground Lavi Theatre, a monumental moment was taking place. It was the Golden Brines Actors Awards, one of the most prestigious award shows in the world. It was taking place in the heart of New York, Midtown-Manhattan.

Anye Hotel was located in the famous Broadway District, where the world's most prestigious retail shops, restaurants, clubs and iconic skyscrapers were found.

Inside the hotel theatre, the Golden Brines Actors Awards taking place. Famous people from all walks of life were present. To be given an invite to such a prominent event was gag-worthy and showed the class one belonged to.

The Golden Brines Actors Awards was a very important event in the world of movie and theatre musicals. It defined the culture of acting and was held in high esteem. It was organized yearly by the Brines Group and Associates.

The award show brought a lot of people together and important relationships are forged through this event. The awards were in different categories and each was equally important.

The attendees of the event were mostly actors, actresses of various genres which included dramas, short films, documentaries, movies, sitcoms, family comedy, action films, just to mention a few.

As the show was ongoing, the presenters for the Golden Brines best Voice Actress for a series came to the stage to make the presentation. The nominees sat anxiously, anticipating the winners' name to be mentioned.

Amongst the nominees was our lovely protagonist, Sabrina Van. Seated in the middle of the theatre hall with her manager, Tia. Sabrina looked flawless as usual, with her heart-shaped face, perfect jawline, thinly shaped brows and naturally thick lashes. Her makeup was perfect and blended with her melanin skin.

Sabrina was a voice actress, a famous one at that with a huge following and fans called the Briz. Sabrina was 28 years old, the perfect age to advance into her career.

Along the same lane were three other voice actresses that were currently amongst the nominees for best voice actress. They were equally capable in their own ways.

As the presenters took the stage and started talking, Sabrina clenched her fingers around her Valentino Couture 2023 two-piece creamy button-up, long sleeved shirt with a silver sequined skirt. Her hair was neatly rolled into a spongy wave and she paired her look with diamond earrings and a silver purse and ten inches ankle strap heels.

"I can't believe you are still nervous?" Tia whispered into Sabrina's ear and she whispered back.

"My soul won't be able to rest well if I don't get this award. The underworld might have to organize this award show and give me the award for best voice actress if I lose this one."

"Stop jinxing yourself. I'm warning you, you are not allowed to talk about dying.'' Tia warned with her finger. Sabrina smiled and held Tia's finger.

"Alright! Don't get worked up. Let's concentrate." Sabrina turned her head towards the stage in time.

"And now, the winner for best voice actress for a long series goes to…. Sabrina Van!" The female presenter yelled excitedly.

Sabrina and Tia looked at each other. Tia gave Sabrina a tight hug. "We made it, Sab!" Sabrina nodded her head. "Mm! We made it, Tia!"

Sabrina stood up and waved her hand elegantly before walking up to the stage. The invited guests clapped hands for her as she walked down the stairs towards the stage.

"I've always wanted to ask Sabrina a question. Do I have the opportunity to do so now?" The female presenter, a famous journalist by the name Freda Mines asked.

"Is the interview starting already?" Sabrina joked and the crowd laughed.

"Well, I don't mind!" Freda replied. "I want to ask a question that everyone is also curious about."

"Shoot!" Sabrina said.

"You don't age at all. I remember presenting you with the newbie award ten years ago, when you first broke out at the age of 18. You still look like a teenager. How do you do it?" Freda asked.

"Well, I guess I was gifted the best genes in the world. The melanin in me is doing a great job." Sabrina replied with a chuckle.

"Here is your award." Freda handed over the award to Sabrina and stepped back.

"This feels so monumental for me. I've stood on this stage every year for the past ten years of my career. I've won different awards but today, this award feels different for me. I've always dreamt of wining this award and today it finally came true."

"First of all, I want to thank God for making it possible. I want to thank my ride or die, my best friend and manager, who has always believed in me and stood by my side. Tia, I love you, babe." Sabrina chuckled when Tia mouthed the same words back to her.

"I also want to thank the producer, the director and all the production team, the actors and actresses I worked with on 'Finding Love', I made a lot of memories that will always stay with me. Finally, to my Briz, my fans who send me gifts and messages all the time, I want to say that I love you guys a lot and you made this journey as a voice actress a meaningful one for me.''

"Thank you to my follow nominees, you are all people I look up to and I do not take this award for granted. I will continue to work hard to bring you good series in the future.''

Sabrina bowed with her award before walking back to her seat. Along the way, she maintained a professional smile.

"She is so fake! Finding Love didn't even do that well in the box office.'' Bianca glared at Sabrina as she muttered.

"That's not her fault. She did a good job though." Mimi said. Unlike Bianca, Mimi was more composed and discrete.

Bianca turned and looked at Mimi. "Don't you hate Sabrina because you think she is fake? Why are you praising her?'"

"Because she did a good job. I hate her but it doesn't take away the fact that she did a good job and deserves the award." Mimi replied.

"Whatever!" Bianca turned to look at Sabrina again.

Sabrina looked over the upper floor and locked eyes with Bianca and Mimi. Mimi nodded her head politely and Sabrina did the same, but Bianca looked away. Sabrina ignored Bianca and sat down next to Tia.

"Sab, we did it!" Tia said excitedly.

"We did it!"

As the two were busy whispering to each other, the award show continued. Different people took the stage to present the awards, one of which was a low-profile mogul. He was the CEO of Tyme Magazine, a multimillion news and fashion company that was fast becoming a household name in the world of fashion and films.

Sabrina turned and looked at the stage and saw the man's back as he walked off the stage. She didn't know that, in no time, this man and her were going to be tied together by fate.

Sabrina caught a glimpse of the man when he turned to exit the stage from the backdoor. Her attention was taken away when Tia spoke to her.

"What did you say?" Sabrina asked and looked at Tia.

"Dear, what were you looking at?" Tia asked.

"Nothing. What did you say?"

"I said we have to celebrate tonight. I just received an invite from Greta Gigwet. She wants us to go to her afterparty."

"Decline it! You know I don't like to attend such industry parties." Sabrina made a puppy face.

"But, still… she is the executive producer. It would hurt her feelings if you decline going. There are already rumors of you being standoff and unapproachable. Darling, I know how you feel about such parties, but we really can't say no to this one. Greta has a lot of connections in this industry and it will not be good if you get into her bad books." Tia explained, holding Sabrina's hands.

"Alright! I guess I can't get out of this one." Sabrina sighed. She had always avoided going to industry parties because things could turn messy really quick. She had lived her life avoiding scandals and staying lowkey for the past ten years.

Most of the credit went to Tia for always shielding her and attending most of the parties in her stead. Sometimes she had to apologize with a gift anytime she declined an invite.

Sabrina avoided such parties because they were fake and also because she was trying to live the most of her life doing things she loved.

After all, she didn't have much time left. She had just clocked 28 years and just like the rest of her family, she wasn't going to see her 30th birthday.

Sabrina looked around and smiled when she locked eyes with a few people in the industry. When the award show was over, she went to take a few pictures with the media and did a quick interview before looking for Tia.
