Chapter 40

Julia tentatively asked Justice, "I heard that Ashton caught a cold. Can I go inside to check on him? I’m worried.”

Justice stopped Julia and told her, "It’s better not to accidentally infect you. You should join Mr. Holland for dinner downstairs and leave him to me.”

Julia, however, remained standing still. She could hear a faint voice from the bed. It was as if someone drank the porridge before he hummed contentedly, "Julia, are you still here?"

Hearing that, Julia immediately responded, "I'm still here."

He chuckled as if he was in a good mood, "Julia, thank you for this. The porridge is tasty. You should go have dinner now. Uncle Justice will take care of me.”

Julia then bid him goodbye before leaving the room. After walking out of the room, Julia came to a sudden realization. Why did she feel that Ashton sounded different than usual? Not only his voice but his tone and attitude were completely different as well.
