6 Meeting the Protagonist: William

"You are too naive, William. After I went through all the trouble for you to come out of the village, do you think I will spare you?"

William's eyes widened with realization when he heard this, and a bitter smile appeared on his face.

"So, was it all planned by you?" he said with despair in his eyes.

"That's why you can only be a servant, dumb bastard," Felix said with even more disgusted eyes.

William let go of his body as he fell to the ground and his eyes faltered as with resignation.

"Just end me now," regret flashed through his eyes.

"No, how can I give up? What about my sister?" Suddenly, William's eyes opened as he saw the cold blade coming right towards his neck.

His heart skipped a beat as he somehow was able to dodge the blade.

Shing!

The man was stunned by the unexpected dodge of William, and his sword went towards the ground.

"This fu—" the left-eyed scarred man tried to pull out his sword; however, he faltered as the sword was too deep in the ground.

William, seizing this chance, had his eyes glinting with ruthlessness as he ran away from the man and approached Felix.

"Huh, is this bastard insane?" Felix thought, confused about why he was coming towards him instead of running away.

"So, you want death at my hands instead, huh? Then I will gladly fulfill your wish," he took out his sword from his waist.

Seeing the chance, the two goons behind Felix moved forward.

"Felix, we can take care of this poor bastard; you don't have to dirty your hands."

"Alright," Felix said with an amused expression, seeing the charging Williams at him with madness in his eyes.

"These two idiots will help me finish him off without an injury, and at the same time, I could test their loyalty."

Williams looked at the two goons who were obstructing his pathway to Felix with sheathing rage; almost all the humiliation he had endured till now erupted, with only rage in his mind.

He quickly took a sizable rock from the ground discreetly as he charged straight at them.

"Stop right there," the two of them said, feeling a little nervous seeing the madness reflecting in William's eyes.

However, they were given a chance to utter a single word.

William caught the sharp point of the stone and directly smashed it onto one of the youths neck at lightning fast speed.

Pshh!

Blood gushed from the wound as William coldly took the stone back from the neck of the youth. The youth's eyes turned vacant as his lifeless eyes were still open.

The youth fell to the ground, staining the leaves with its crimson hue forming a small pool of blood slowly in the ground.

"You…" the other youth's eyes filled with horror when he looked at the lifeless body of his companion.

The other goon of Felix also fell to the floor as he couldn't believe his eyes; his body was trembling violently.

However, William didn't even glance at the first person he had ever killed as he sprinted towards Felix with malevolent eyes ignoring the other goon as if he was non-existent in his eye.

"I will die after taking you with me," he roared with anger.

"This guy has gone into madness," Felix gritted his teeth as countless thoughts flashed in his mind in a span of seconds.

"Wait, why am I even scared? I am stronger than this peasant born from a bitch."

Dong!

Felix looked up to find Williams up close in front of him. From the corner of his eye, he could see a right hand entering forward toward his neck area, soaked in blood.

Crack!

The bracelet that Felix was wearing cracked and broke into pieces, while Williams' eyes widened in disbelief.

"You son of a b…" Felix cursed, seeing the broken bracelet fall to the floor.

"Why was I scared of this peasant?" he roared, preparing to punch Williams.

Splurt!

Suddenly, blood splattered all over Felix, causing him to close his eyes. The paper was also soaked in blood, and its text started to glow faintly in colour.

A sword pierced through the heart of Williams, almost reaching Felix in the process.

"I am sorry, young master, I was late."

Shing!

The left-eyed scarred man coldly pulled out his blade from William's body.

Ahhhhh!

The painful scream of William reverberated in the forest as his vision dimmed. As the blade was taken out from William's body, his heart came out with it.

He fell to the ground, and his vibrant eyes soon lost their color. He died.

"This son of a lowly wretch dared to attack me, and I even lost a precious artifact because of this…" Felix shouted out loud in frustration, seeing the corpse of William.

Splat!

He spat on the lifeless body with disgust in his eyes.

"Worthless bastard." Felix kicked the already dead corpse again and again. William's body was mangled due to the sheer strength of Felix's kicks, and it became even more gruesome with his body soaked in blood.

"You too."

"I am sorry, young master."

"It's fine; I will reward you after we go back." Felix said after some thought.

However, they both failed to notice the faintly glowing golden text on the paper, slowly leaving the paper and going towards William's body.

The golden text was absorbed by his body like a sponge meeting water. More and more text floated in the air, separating from the paper and entering his body, being absorbed by him.

As if defying nature itself, William's wound slowly started to regenerate, and a new heart, gold-ish in colour, began to form.

Soon, all the text was absorbed into William's body, and his heart fully healed, emitting a golden light that shone brightly within him. All the blood he had lost was pumped back into his body by his golden heart.

His wound from the sword had already healed.

William's lifeless eyes fluttered as vitality returned to them.

"Eh, where did the text and patterns on the paper go?" Felix finally noticed the wordless paper.
