My Movie Queen: Chapter 77

"I actually have a good memory," Alice said casually, catching both Yanna and Melody by surprise. "I planned to ask you out after the survival show, but I didn't expect you to be replaced halfway."

Yanna, feeling slightly guilty, replied, "I'm sorry about that. Let me make it up to you next time."

Melody, who had been listening beside Yanna, was taken aback by their closeness. She couldn't help but ask, "You two know each other well?"

Alice took a sip of her mango juice before answering, "Yeah, we went to the same school before."

Yanna glanced at the white cat sitting motionless on the sofa, a beautiful creature with no other cats around it. As if sensing her gaze, the white cat opened its mesmerizing blue eyes and locked gazes with Yanna, before shutting them again.

Yanna chuckled ' The cat has a lot of similarities with Vanessa '

Alice noticed Yanna's wide smile, thinking she made a good choice in selecting this place.

"How have you been?" Melody asked Alice, breaking the silence.

Alice shifted her attention from Yanna to the cat nestled in her lap. "I'm doing good. I went abroad for some time, worked on new projects, joined a show, and now I'm on a new project."

"Yeah, I saw it," Melody replied. "You're doing great. I watched your works closely, but I didn't expect you to join a survival show. It really surprised me."

"Well, it hasn't all been sunshine and rainbows, Melody," Alice sighed. "Yes, I got some media attention from the show, but it also brought unwanted scrutiny. And then there was this recent project...it's been a rollercoaster ride. But enough about me, how have you been?"

"I'm doing well now," Melody confessed. "I'm sorry about what happened between us before. I was a fool and made a mistake that hurt you. I'm really sorry, Alice. I won't make the same mistake again."

"Luckily, you woke up in time," Alice remarked, playfully tapping Melody's forehead.

"Thanks to Yanna's help, everything is good now." Melody said rubbing her forehead that felt itchy because of Alice

"Yanna? Really?" Alice asked, her doubts evident.

Yanna, who was enjoying her milk tea, heard her name and nodded. "Yes, but it's not like I'm the only one who helped her. Let's not talk about it though. We're here to relax, right?"

Yanna swiftly changed the topic, steering away from her involvement in helping Melody. She was afraid Alice might ask how she found out, so it was better to avoid it for now.

The three of them spent a pleasant time chatting, reminiscing about the past. Melody shared how she believed it was fate that she met Yanna and became her manager, but she deliberately left out any mention of Oliver. She focused on her current situation and getting her career back on track.

Alice looked at Yanna and casually asked if they could have dinner together the next day, but Yanna politely declined. Melody stepped in on Yanna's behalf and explained that she would be starting a live stream and preparing for an upcoming project, leaving her with little free time.

Alice didn't take it to heart, though she felt a tinge of disappointment. She understood that they would have plenty of time to spend together once the shooting for their project began.

Alice looked at her watch and bid farewell to Melody and Yanna. Although she wanted to stay longer, she had something else to do and didn't expect time to pass so quickly. Yanna smiled at Alice and said goodbye, but she didn't leave. Melody, who was beside Yanna, also stayed with her.

"Are we not going back yet?" Melody asked.

"But... can we talk to the owner or manager of this cafe?" Yanna hesitantly said.

"Why?" Melody asked again.

"That cute white fur cat, I like it. I want to ask the owner if they're willing to sell it to us."

"I don't think they sell cats," Melody replied.

"I know, that's why we're just going to try and ask. Can we? Please?" Yanna pleaded in a childish manner, holding Melody's right hand with both of hers, trying to convince her.

Melody was taken aback by Yanna's sudden coquettishness. It was the first time Yanna had acted like this towards her. From being a charming royal sister to a coquettish girl, it really struck a chord with Melody. She loved cute things, especially when they were beautiful. Her heart warmed, and like a caring mother wanting to make her daughter happy, she didn't say anything to Yanna. Instead, she walked towards the front desk and asked if they could speak to the manager.

Yanna was momentarily stunned, but she quickly followed Melody. She wasn't good at negotiating, but with Melody by her side, it felt like a piece of cake. She was just surprised that Melody took action immediately; she thought Melody would consider it first.

The manager arrived and had a conversation with Melody. As expected, they declined to sell the cat.

Melody felt dejected for failing to negotiate, but Yanna cheered her up since it was her idea in the first place. Yanna told Melody that it wasn't necessary to get the cat; she just liked it. Melody understood Yanna's sentiment and smiled to reassure her that she was okay.

Although she understood Yanna, she still wanted to get her one. ' If I could successfully help Oliver get what he wanted, why I couldn't do the same for Yanna? ' She made a mental note to look for one next time.
