PROVOKING A MONSTER

Katherina helped me back to my house and laid me on the couch.

After treating my wound, I stood up hastily from the couch but Katherina stopped me.

"Stay"

"Katherina-"

"I'm not saying this because I want to but because you are hurt. If you go now, you won't be able to do anything. You can barely walk well"

That was true but there was no denial that Alexis was waiting for me.

A second wasted could mean me not seeing her forever.

"I know what you are thinking but we both know that he won't hurt her"Katherina voiced and I suddenly felt reassured.

But then, can we ever be sure of what Kenny was capable and not capable of? .

"I'll take it from here"a voice said startling us. I looked behind Katherina to see that it was Bobby.

Bobby walked up to Katherina"You should go and rest. Good work today"

"I'm not sleepy"Katherina countered.

"Katherina"I dragged.

"Fine, geez. I'm going"

We watched as she left as Bobby whistled"You are one lucky,omega.You got an alpha like her at your calling?"

"Not a time for jokes, man. I'm worried as hell about Alexis"

"I know you are,believe me so to get you to sleep this night, I'll go search around for her"

"You should rest too, man"

"And I will. You are the one who can barely walk but I do have one question though"

"What's that?"

"Those people Kenny came with. Where are they from?"

"I don't know. They were really strong"

"I had a sense that they were all alpha's"

"Really?How did Kenny get to know them then?"

"Exactly. You need to be careful about that guy"

"I know, which is why I'm really worried about Alexis because I feel like he might hurt her"

ALEXIS

I had to do something.

I couldn't just stay here, sit and wait for three days to pass while doing nothing.

I searched around for any small passage that could lead me outside but none and no windows either.

And that's when I saw it-The wire cable-

Pinned to the ground by Kenny, I shivered in fear.

How had he caught on so easily that I had the wire cable? and how was he so strong?

"I told you not to try anything stupid, didn't I?"Kenny growled. He was obviously angry.

"If that's true then let me go!"

"I will. In three days!"

"No. Let me go now. I'm sure Aiden is really worri-"

"DON'T SAY HIS NAME!!""Kenny roared while hitting his fist on the ground and shaking the whole room as I yelped.

Kenny dragged the cable wire from my hand as he pulled me towards the wall and tied my hands behind the wall.

"I think you should sleep"he said before smacking me hard on the face and knocking me out.

As Jessica and Grey trailed back home, they walked in an awkward silence for a while.

"We bonded for the first time today"

"Yes, we did"Grey said looking away embarrassed.

"Its been so long"

"You are right"

"Jessica, are you alright!" a voice screamed coming towards Jessica from the woods .

Jessica yelped in shock as Grey impulsively reacted and held the figure by the neck.

"Who are you?"Grey snarled.

Jessica looked at the figure shivering in fear before his face came to light"Stephen?"

"You know him?"

"Yes. He's ..my mate"

Grey instantly dropped him on the floor as Stephen gasped for air.

He adjusted his glasses as he got up on his feet and scanned Jessica.

"Are you hurt? I just heard that some other wolves attacked you. Where? When?-"

"Hey, catch your breath, will you? I'm sick of seeing powerless Omega's form strong all the time"Grey said in annoyance"Anyways,I'll leave you two and head in now but I'll be watching you"

Grey left them alone as Jessica turned to face Stephen.

"Were..you worried about me?"she asked him.

"Yes"he replied softly"I know you don't like it because I'm an omega and it repulse you but-"

Stephen was cut off as Jessica threw her arms around him"Thank you for worrying about me "

It was new to Jessica. To have someone who wasn't her brother worry about her.

Her two best friends didn't even show up.

She slowly refrained from Stephen who was still in a trance.

"I have to go in now and uhmm...I think you better run"

"Why?"

"HEY, YOU OMEGA. HOW DARE YOU HIG MY SISTER!"Grey shouted stepping out of the house. "I TOLD YOU, I'LL BE WATCHING YOU!"

"That's why"Jessica said as Stephen took to his heels as Grey gave him a hot chase.

Jessica laughed at the duo as she headed to her room.

Her mate was worried about her. she smiled despite herself.

It felt nice having someone worry about you. she thought.
