I spent the next couple of days in bed. I didn't go to school cause I didn't feel like.

Aiden understood I needed space so he didn't come see me but he was kind enough to lie to teachers that I was sick and send pictures of the notes.

On Saturday it was his birthday so I had to see him.

You could just Imagine my surprise when I stepped into his room and my wolf screamed "MATE"

I halted .What was going on ? My mate was Aiden??

I slowly backed away to the door . Sure, i'm supposed to be psyched and all but my mate was an omega.

That's just making us the lowest of all lows together and I didn't like it. Not one bit.

Aiden stepped out of the bathroom as his eyes widened. His wolf must have felt it too.

" Alexis-"

" I won't accept this" I blurted out. Yes, he was my best friend and all but I won't accept my mate being an omega.

Never .

" Alexis , are you-"

" yes ." I replied strongly tightening my fist" I'm rejecting you "

I turned around and ran out of his room not caring about how Aiden felt.

All that mattered now was how I felt . I ran into the woods and screamed. " Why!!!!"

I slowly fell on the bed. I was rejected by my mate and it hurt more because it was my best friend, someone I sincerely cared about.

I'd never felt embarrassed being an omega, sincerely. All though it sucks most of the times but I'd never regretted being an omega.

But now, I do.

I wish I could change myself or rather change being Alexis mate for her.

I looked up as I heard a knock on my door .

It was Alexis " I'm sorry. I was too harsh "

" it's okay" I said looking away from her eyes.

" anyways, happy birthday" she said.

I could feel the awkwardness in her words. Were we ever going to be the same again?

"Thank you " I said and proceeded to leave when she held my hand.

" what are we going to do ?" she asked

I faced her " what's there to be done ? you already rejected me "

I released her grip from my hand and ran out of my room to Bobby's house.

Bobby was the only alpha friend I had. I'd begged him to keep our friendship secret because if the pack found out that he was hanging around with an omega ,he's as good as dead.

" happy birthday" Bobby shouted.

I smiled " thank you "

Bobby came closer to me and smiled" so , have you found your mate? it's about time "

I sighed "I don't want to talk about it " I went over to his fridge and brought out a can of beer .

"why?" Bobby asked .

I downed the beer" I was rejected"

Bobby was shocked " why ? how ? who is it ? "

I sighed once more " I don't want to talk about it. I just want to get wasted"

Bobby smiled" That's the spirit,my friend. how about a good race later ? Nothing cheers you up more than a run "

I smiled . This was why I liked to hang out with Bobby.

He knows exactly how to cheer you up .

" you are up " I replied " shall we put a bet on it ?"

Bobby smiled " okay, I'm liking drunk Aiden. if I win, you tell me who your mate is "

I nodded my head " fine and if I win, you let me drive your red car to school for the next one week "

Bobby nodded his head " you are on "

I dropped down my beer and we both transformed and started running.

This was exactly what I needed to feel better. The cool wind blowing against my fur and the exhilaration from running against time.

I got back to the house first. I'd won but it seemed like Bobby allowed me to win .

As I'd said, he knows exactly how to cheer you up.

But still, I was glad that I'll get to ride his red car to school. That was like his baby and I was finally getting it in my hands.

"Take care of my Melissa" Bobby said frowning as he handed me the keys .

I bowed down as I took the key " yes , my Lord "

" One scratch on her and you are dead"

Despite the fact that Bobby might seem to be playing right now, you don't want to see him angry.

He's one of the strongest alpha's in his pack and very possessive with his properties so him handing Melissa over to me meant a great deal.

I'd spent the whole day at Bobby's and when it was dark, I went back home .

The effect of the alcohol was finally taking it's toll on me ,so I was dizzy and everything was spinning.

When I couldn't walk further anymore, I passed out and landed on the floor.

or so I thought. Alexis had caught me.

" you stink "

" and whose fault is that?" I said sleepy.

She helped me into my room and placed me on the bed.

" hey, I know you aren't happy with the way things turned out. I know that more than anyone" I say drunkingly"but did you really have to make me feel bad about being an omega? You made me feel so unwanted." I sighed" I can't believe you forgot for a moment that before your were my mate , you were my best friend"

I'd fallen asleep after that. Whatever nonsense I'd said after or she'd said they all were blocked out by darkeness.

I just hoped that whatever I said after didn't hurt her because if I still remember clearly, I'd slept off with tears streaming down from my cheeks and hearing Alexis softly cry.
