25: Baiting The Mouse (3)

After getting chased out of the hotel, Izabelle immediately called Leo.

Even though she is limping, she still needs to meet him.

If she really wants to continue this alliance with him, she needs to first secure her son's safety. She cannot afford to drag her little angel into this fight.

Her treasure. She can't afford to get it stained even if it is a little scratch.

And there's no one who could provide better protection than seeking help from her ally.

Finding a secure place and making sure that no one's following her, she texted Leo. To which he responded to a meet point.

The rendezvous is located at one of Hanes night clubs.

Izabelle easily went inside and found the room where she is going to meet with Leo.

Sitting down to the sofa, a waitress and a nurse went inside to treat and serve her. Although she is on guard and hesitating to receive such treatment, she knew deep down that the employees would not possibly harm her, right?

After all, this place is a high-end one.

But she still can't let her guard down.

The tv in front of her lit up.

A person who is wearing a three-piece suit is seating behind an office desk. She can't see the entirety of the man's appearance but she knew that it is Leo.

"Did you, do it?", a deep raspy voice came out of the tv's speaker.

"Yes, it's all in here"

Izabelle then unclipped the pinky tip sized filming device and place it unto the table.

The waitress who came back inside of the room served her some refreshments and gently place the filming device on her tray before going out of the room.

"What did she say?", Leo asked.

"She wants trouble. To ruin your faithful lover image", a smirk can be seen from Leo's irritated face.

He can't believe it. His aunt would stoop so low as to use this trick to actually ruin his clean relationship record.

Making him the bad guy for being a two-timing jerk.

Well, if he really wants to let his aunt think that everything's going on her way, he must do his best to cooperate to her request and fool her.

The only thing that he is worried for is Raiver.

He just come clean about his intention of getting together with him. He hasn't even got Raiver's approval of love from him, yet he is willing to dig for his own grave.

*long sighs*

If he didn't play with his aunt, he won't be able to let her guard down. And the mouse will detect that something went wrong and it will be hard to corner her again.

However, Raiver will not get hurt in the process. The trust that Leo kept on showing will have its credibility.

But if he played with his aunt, the opposite of the earlier situation will happen.

Thus, hurting Raiver on the process and he will start back into square one.

Leo kicked his desk hard.

Why should he choose between these difficult situations?

Is there no other option available?

His kick made a loud sound that echoed through the television.

Izabelle flinched from the sound. Well, if she were in Leo's shoes, she would feel his anger and helplessness.

After all, he is going against his relatives. On top of that he needs to risk his image. He just got back his love one only to send it away?

Raiver and Leo's love story became the hot topic of the century after the nationwide search that happened last time.

They became the international couple.

Everybody wished for the former couple to get back together again.

And now the news of the other being a jerk after all those stunts that Leo pulled?

People will think twice and will get confuse on which side to believe on. Both sides have babies and their eyes will undoubtingly sell the news.

Now the tyrant's about to face a very difficult choice of his life.

Izabelle just wished for this to be over.

"Mr. Gruigel", Leo snapped back to reality.

"What?", the cold voice escaped his mouth unconsciously.

Izabelle gathered her courage. They're allied. She is not scared of asking for help. He needs her help as it is for her.

"She-*sighs* she", Izabelle pursed her lips.

Leo detected the woman's anxiousness.

"Please don't hesitate. I am not like her", this console made Izabelle to tear up.

"Please protect my son. She threatens to harm him. I, I can't afford to lose him. I don't care what happens to me but please my son is innocent", Izabelle pleaded.

Leo knows that her son is his nephew. He can't possibly hurt his own relative.

Unless he/she have the intention to harm them.

Is it because that he also has a son now that he felt pity for Izabelle?

He would also put Andrei into safety first if something like this would ever happen to him.

No!

He might go overboard and make arrangements to not let that person go see the light again.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure to keep your son safe", this reassured Izabelle.

She can now breathe a sigh of relief.

"Thank you so much Mr. Gruigel", Izabelle bowed down to the tv's direction.

"Don't be, you agreed to help. Of course, I will do the same thing for you", Izabelle wiped her tears and kept on thanking Leo.

After ending the call, Leo relaxed on his office chair.

A knock on the under resounded then slowly opened.

Raiver head popped out from the door's slit. Leo can't help but to chuckle at what Raiver is doing.

'He is too cute!'

"What does my dear want?", Raiver got used to Leo's endearment.

The people in the premise kept on saying that the most common endearment that the couple always use when they are still married are "Honey" or "Dear".

At first Raiver got cringe from Leo's unconscious use of the endearment, but now he is used to it.

There's nothing that can be done.

After all, he is not the real Raiver and is taking his place.

But it's strange… every time Leo calls him unintentionally his heart flutters.

Everyday Leo courts him, Giving him the things that the previous Raiver wants.

Unexpectedly, both the clone and the original have the same likes and dislikes in everything.

From clothes, food, drinks, desserts, you name it. Even their habits were surprisingly the same.

The only difference is their personality and their race.

So Raiver just let him do what he wants. After all, he's just leeching off of him.

And the way Leo woo him makes his heart skip a beat.

He may be falling in love to him but he won't give in so easily.

Especially the day that his role is needed as the lover of this tyrant. He needs to be in character on that day.

"Are you busy?"

"No. Why?", Leo stood up from his chair and walked towards Raiver.

He opened the door only for Raiver to fall unto his chest. Leo instinctively caught him in his arms.

Raiver's face bumped to Leo's hard and firm chest. His hands landed on Leo's steady arms.

Because his face landed unto Leo's chest, he could feel his heartbeat.

Its fast and pounding loudly.

It's as if the heart felt that its owner is near and kept on punching Leo's chest to let it out so that he could hug its owner. To shout at him how much he loves him. To spit out sweet words that can melt a person who's in love.

Raiver pressed his face harder into Leo's chest to hear how his heart beats like a drum.

It's as if Leo could hear Raiver thoughts, he smiled and hugged him tighter so he could hear his heartbeat better.

'Hear that Love? That's my heart screaming for you to love me again', Leo looked at Raiver tenderly.

The two stayed in that position, listening to each other's heartbeats.

Raiver is fascinated on how Leo's and his heart beats like crazy.

He is comparing their hearts. He wants to see if what he is feeling is love. Making sure tjat both are in the same page.

He is so amazed that he is feeling this heart pounding moment for the first time of his life after thousands of years of him living.

If this is love that he is feeling, then it feels warm. He likes the warmness it brings to his very being.

Leo can't remove the smile that plastered his handsome face. His love initiated to hug him and listen to his heart.

He is too happy to describe it.

At least he is making progress.

They are still going to keep on that position when suddenly Leo's butler came in.

"Young master, baby Andrei kept on crying. He wanted Master Leo to hu-", the butler paused.

Noticing the butler's presence, Raiver pushed Leo away and his face flushed red. Leo glared at the butler, sending him signals of death.

The poor butler paled and coughed.

"Oh yeah, umm… Andrei wants to sleep with you", Raiver shyly said.

'Gosh, this is embarrassing', Raiver can't even look at Leo while asking.

Leo cleared his throat before answering.

"No. I'm not. But I don't know how to put him to sleep. Can you help me?", Raiver slowly nodded his head in response.

'Yeah, might as well ask him to sleep in my room', is what in Leo's thoughts before going to where Andrei is.
