1 Chapter 1: Ancient Book

A girl could be seen picking up a large and thick book in a dim room.

She read the title of the book and she notices that it was in an ancient text. It would have been impossible for her to read it. If she didn't study ancient text and language that ever existed in this world.

"Versteckte Magie" she read out loud

Of course like the name implies

It was about magic...

According to the book. Magic is something that can be manifest through mana. That mana will be something you need to control to perform magic. A magical power or it is better known as mana can take any shape or form.

"A mana is a fuel to trigger a magic"

She read out loud this sentence then she continues.

Your mana can take form base on your affinity. Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind is the most basic affinity. Someone who has the Light and Dark affinity are beyond rare. In history, there are only a few cases about the wielder of such magic. It can be counted in one hand.

'Hmm... This book contain about Magic. I haven't tried magic before. It's not like I'm interested in magic' She flips yet another page of the thick book.

If she isn't interested in magic then, why read and pick it? Simple, it's the book that caught her interest.

A book covered in dust, so old and thick. A book she hasn't heard or seen before despite reading most books she has seen. A book that gave an ancient vibe and text that she couldn't read if she didn't study ancient text.

'Well, it's not like I could read all the books in the entire world but still...'

The girls' name is Kiara Ferrer. She has red hair that drips down to her waists like blood and roses, with her body covered in a white dress that emphasized her youthfulness and loveliness as a cute girl. Her golden eyes exude a slight bewitching feeling which gives her overall balance to her looks.

The girl that we now know as Kiara closes the book with eyes glittering in anticipation to read it later.

'I guess I'll read it later'

She speeds up her cleaning pace. Once she was done she hurried to her room while carrying the book in tow. Her mother notices her daughter's excitement and asks her.

"K!! You done cleaning the basement?"

"Yep, all done mom"

She answered before slamming the door behind her

She sat on her bed and open the book with anticipation. She began to read the book she has found at the corner lying in the basement.

The introduction of the book was just the concept of how to convert mana into magic so I skip that part. As I was reading through the book I found it very fascinating. It was about ancient magic or lost magic.

The book shows me about necromancy and space magic. How to conduct magic made of the ancient flame. Earth's Beauty in which it can help grow nature from the wasteland. It also shows you how to construct something from that specific element — an example of this is the Terrakinetic Constructs.

The book has much chronological magic which ceases to exist in the present or forgotten magic and relic. I read the book with so much interest that I lost tracked of time. I only notice that it was already dark outside because my stomach growled.

I look at my progress of the book but I only read 1/4 of it. I was about to place the thick book at my table when something drops from it.

"A paper?"

I mutter and look at the paper. It has something written on it.

It was:

"Visualization is the Key — Flora Bloomfield"

'Flora Bloomfield? Who? I'll ask mom later'

I decided to wrap up and finish the rest later.

"Mom, Is dinner ready?!"

I ask mom while I was heading downstairs for dinner.

"Almost!"

My mother replied

-----

"K!!!"

I couldn't react immediately and was already pounce by someone. I also lost my balance in the process and fall on the floor.

"Agh... Who?"

I ask while rubbing my butt because of the impact of the fall. I look to see who is the culprit. It was my childhood friend— Suzanne Farell.

She has sky blue hair that drips down into her hips. Royal blue eyes resemble a crystal clear ocean. Porcelain skin and finally She was wearing a white sweater and shorts that emphasize her cuteness.

"Suzu?"

"Yup"

"What's up? You seem more enthusiastic than usual"

"You see, I've decided!!"

"Decided what?"

I asked tilting my head slightly.

"To enter the Sword and Magic Academy!"

She happily announced.

"Eh?..."

"Ehhhhhh?"

I exclaim when I finally process the information.

"W-w-why?"

I ask her, stammering at my words.

"Hmn?"

She pondered in a thinking pose while her index finger was on her chin.

"Because you told me yesterday that you will enter the academy?"

"But you don't even practice any magic?"

I said I was sure that Suzu didn't practice any magic while I was always training my Swordsmanship. I am no prodigy. I am just a bit above average.

"Well, As fo—"

Suzu was about to say something when mom interjected.

"What are you two doing on the floor? "

Mom ask.

We are still in the position where Suzu was sitting on my lap while facing me and her two hands were on my shoulder.

"Ohh, I forgot! Can you get off me Suzu?"

Without saying anything Suzu gets off me and we proceed to eat dinner.

" Suzu, Eat dinner with us"

"Sure!"

She enthusiastically replied

The dinner was as usual. Talking about random topics and laughing. After finishing dinner, I went to the bath with Suzu and get on to the bed. She says that she was staying over today. It's not an unusual thing and our closeness was like that of sisters.
