A boy with black hair was walking down the road with a peaceful expression. He had black eyes that looked as deep as the abyss and expressed no emotion other than calmness.

In the sky was the beautiful golden glow of the sunset that illuminated his face. The light seemed to paint his handsome face which made him look more handsome that he already is.

He was wearing a white shirt with black pants, the standard uniform of their school. On his back was a blue backpack which contained all of school materials. It was evident that he had just come home from school.

He walked alone until he eventually reached a moderately sized two story house. A hint of recognition flashed within his eyes as he then grabbed the doorknob and twisted it, only to find it locked. He tried twisting it a couple more times to check if it really is locked or just broken.

A few unsuccessful attempts later, he determined that the door was really locked. He then knocked on the door, hoping someone would come open it for him. Unfortunately, nobody seemed to have heard his knocks.

He was about to start shouting to attract the attention of whoever was inside when his eyes suddenly became dazed and his expression froze. Slowly, a bitter smile made its way up to his face.

"Of course, they would be dead. I should've expected this as soon as I transmigrated.", said the boy.

In that moment that he was about to shout, memories surged within his head that nobody was inside the house as everyone in the family had died, leaving behind the boy.

The boy's name was Lucas and belong to the local rich family, Morgan family.

They were a family of four consisting of Lucas, his parents, and his elder brother.

To give their two kids a comfortable life, their parents had established a small convenience store in their town which slowly grew as years passed by. Currently, it had grown enough to bring in enough money to let their children live in luxury.

Unfortunately, a recent robbery which had evolved into murder had taken place inside the store.

Someone came in to rob the store after hearing that it was the most profitable business in town. However, during the process, his parents were strong willed and vehemently refused to take out even a dollar. Unfortunately for them, the robbee was armed and easily irritated. After failing to forcing the couple into submission, he just shot them dead.

His elder brother had just graduated high school and had just started working there to help his parents. The robber, scared of leaving any witnesses, shot him dead too. This immediately left Lucas as the only person left in the family.

All of the related memories slowly merged themselves with the new owner of Lucas' body. As he 'remembered' the events regarding his supposed family, his bitter smile just grew. He let out a depressed sigh as he fumbled to grab the keys which was in his bag.

He then entered the house and was greeted with the depressing smell of loneliness. Although he wasn't directly related to the family, the memories of the original owner of Lucas' body was merged within his current self, making feel as if he had also lived the same life as him.

Fortunately, he had another set of memories that held him back and restrained himself from falling into depression.

Lucas just release a breath which he had been unconsciously holding back for some time. He dropped his bag at a chair and plopped on the couch. He then started remembering all the current events that had happened this day.

He transmigrated just this morning when classes were about to start. At that time, Lucas woke up with great anticipation and immediately began wondering what type of world he had arrived in.

The first thing he noticed was that the classroom's designs looked a bit too modern so he assumed that he was in a world with the same technological advancements as Earth. He then began wondering if this was a world where both science and technology fused together.

Unfortunately, as time passed by and Lucas went through different classes, he learned that this world was no different from Earth.

There was a difference but Lucas didn't know how significant it is to the world. During his science class, he learned that the planet he was in was called either The Lonely Planet or The Wandering Planet.

It was called lonely because apparently, there was no other planets in the solar system at all. It was then called The Wandering Planet for a very fucked up reason. It was because the planet was constantly moving.

No, it was not moving like how planets would revolve around the sun. In fact, it was the sun revolving around the planet and the planet was travelling in random directions, taking the sun with it.

Lucas was no scientist but with his half-baked science knowledge, he knew that orbits have something to do with the sun's terrifying mass, forming a gravitational field, and keeping planets in their orbit.

Lucas knew that the planet shouldn't have that kind of power to actually make a whole ass sun revolve around it. He then started imagining that he was actually in a fantasy world. After all, other than magic, he couldn't really find an explanation on why this could happen.

Sadly, he didn't find any signs that could tell that this was a fantasy world. Other than the weird characteristic of this planet, it was almost the same as Earth.

Lucas sighed in disappointment at this thought. He really expected some sort of magical setting where he would obtain a cheat that would give him an immense advantage. It was very cliche but Lucas' expectations were great because his situation sounds exactly like the plot of a webnovel.

First, he died through a car crash (yes, he actually did). Next, he transmigrated into someone else's body. Moreover, that someone else's body turned out to be orphaned. Which one of those doesn't sound like a protagonist of those transmigrator novels?

The only thing he was missing right now was his golden finger. What's worse is that he didn't arrive into a magical world.

The only thing that was keeping Lucas motivated was that he was still expecting his cheat to arrive. After all, he can still get a cheat in the modern world, right? Even if he didn't get a cheat that gave him super awesome magic, this is a modern world and having a cheat that could turn him into some sort of super genius doesn't sound so bad.

He had read about other protagonist's having to wait for years before their golden finger would arrive. He had just transmigrated for less than a day so he wasn't that impatient in waiting.

Although he did wish it would come earlier.

As Lucas fell into deep thought about the different cheats he had read about and which cheat he wanted, he felt a sudden weight crashing down on his legs.

He looked down and saw a cat with the blackest and silkiest fur he had ever seen. It stared back at Lucas with its large round eyes. From its look, Lucas could see familiarity and warmth.

It was then that new memories surfaced which made him remember this cat.

Its name was Rezi, the family cat. It was a stray cat that the family had taken in and turned into their house pet. From his memories, Lucas learned that the original owner really loved this cat and seriously considered her to be a part of the family.

Lucas admired the cat's beauty and couldn't help but reach his hand out to pet Rezi. Much to his delight, Rezi took the initiative to bring herself closer to his hand and let him pet her freely. She even started purring loudly.

This filled Lucas with happiness. He was originally a cat lover so the first thing he wanted to do when he saw Rezi was to pet her. Seeing her being very cooperative, he was very happy. Rezi didn't act like how the internet described cats at all. She didn't act like a proud little empress and didn't have that usual sharp look that cats would give you.

She was basically a dream form true to Lucas. For some time, he just sat there and continued petting Rezi until the sun went down. Only when he heard his tummy rumbling did he finally get up to cook dinner for himself.

His dinner was very basic actually. He just took out some eggs that he had taken from their store and fried it. Lucas didn't bother making anything else as he was too lazy so he just went with the easiest thing he could cook.

He then opened a can of cat food and had Rezi eat with him. The two then had a very satisfying dinner.

After that, Lucas went to his room and fell asleep quickly.
