9 A Beauty In A Bar

Deciding to learn more about the system was never the issue.

The real problem is how?

Fortunately, Leo was a smart guy.

If the system promotes promiscuity, he would do just that. Leo decided the best place to meet new people was the nightclub. But since it was still too early for that, he had to settle for a bar.

---

Leo located the nearest bar down the street and walked in under the gaze of many. Like any other bar, there were people separated into rowdy groups drinking and laughing loudly.

The stench of booze and cigarettes filled the air, enough to make anyone nauseous, but Leo wasn't affected one bit. He walked in and went straight to the counter and took a seat there.

In the midst of all the repulsive stench, there was one redeeming fragrance in the air. A fragrance Leo was sure only he could perceive because everyone seemed oblivious to it.

Leo's eyes darted around, in search of the source but then a voice dragged him back to reality.

"Are you going to keep staring around like that or order something?" A hoarse voice rang like a bell, causing Leo to frown.

He turned to meet the gaze of the ruddy bartender who had thick mustaches and nostrils the size of a bell. The man's gaze was fierce, but Leo could feel no real hostility, so he didn't take it to heart.

"Root beer." Leo responded absent-mindedly while his eyes squeezed through the crowd to spot the source of that aroma.

Ding!

[Mission acquired]

[Host has become acquainted with the unique fragrance which only purity can bring forth. Leading people like this astray attracts even better rewards for the host]

[Sleep with Rachel Lambert]

[Rewards unknown]

Gazing at the messages, Leo's eyes dilated slightly as he understood something new about the system. A strange thought crossed his mind and a deep frown spread across his face as he remembered Maria.

What if the rewards he gained for sleeping with Maria were little because she was already into things like this?

A system created by the demon lord is definitely not one that comes with pure intentions. The main purpose of good and evil has always been to spread, not amongst people who already believe in them but those who don't. If he wishes to get stronger at an accelerated rate, then Leo had to be willing to single out people like this and reach out to them.

"I guess I have got some work on my hands." Leo said as he picked up his glass of root beer and dropped a ten-dollar note on the counter.

"Keep the change." Leo said with a wink.

"Heh! Not bad for a pretty boy." The bartender gave Leo an approving nod as he picked up the cash.

Before he could look up, Leo was already lost in the crowd.

---

Rachel was seated in a lonely corner of the bar. She leaned in the direction of the window by her side as if she was searching for fresh air. Dressed in a black skirt, a pink shirt, and a black leather jacket, Rachel was a stunning beauty even as she sat down. As such, it was unavoidable that some would approach her.

"So tell me, what part of town are you from?" The man wearing a cowboy hat leaned forward and spoke in an annoyingly loud tone which made Rachel squint to show discomfort while pressing herself closer to the wall.

Rachel held on to her bag anxiously while trying to ignore the drunk man making advances at her.

Pa!

Suddenly the man felt someone hold onto his shoulder. He and Rachel felt the presence of a third party, and they all turned to meet the gaze of a calm and unusually handsome guy.

---

"Oh, he has done it now."

The bartender looked at Leo in the distance and sighed in pity. The man Leo just chose to disturb had smashed the faces of over five people for exactly this reason.

The pretty boy is about to get his face bashed.

The bartender sighed as he felt that Leo would soon follow in the steps of the previous five.

---

"What is the meaning of this?"

The man seemed to flare up, but before he could react Leo was already standing in his face with his eyes wide open. His frame was slightly larger than the man's as he firmly gripped the man's shoulder.

Leo gave off a vigorous energy, but it wasn't an intimidating one. Instead, it was calm and mature.

"Leave." Leo said with his eyes letting out a faint red light which was visible to only him and the man.

[Charm skill activated]

[-10 DE]

"O-Okay." the drunk man stuttered and obediently began walking away, leaving everyone in the room stunned.

[Name: Leo Wright]

[Race: Human]

[Sin: Lust]

[Unassigned point: 0]

[Level:1]

[Strength: 1]

[Speed: 1]

[Dexterity: 1]

[Charisma: 3]

[Demonic energy: 40]

[Exp:10/20]

While everyone in the room was confused about how the pretty boy was able to send a well-known brawler running obediently, Leo was bothered by his demonic energy stat.

The outcome of the charm skill on the man wasn't surprising since his Charisma has already been increased to three points and the man was already drunk. The main problem now was the demonic energy expense.

Leo had acquired five demonic essences since he received the system. He used all five and gained fifty demonic energy out of it. But by using the Charm ability now, he ended up losing ten demonic energy!

Ten!

Do you know what that's worth?

If Leo had known using the system skill would cost this much he would have considered fighting the man.

"Hey, I'm Rachel. Thanks for the save. I really needed it."

A melodious voice washed through Leo causing his soul to shiver. All these strange feelings just because he was in the presence of a virgin.

'Isn't it a bit exaggerated?' Leo couldn't help but complain in his mind.

He turned to meet her gaze, but then he wore a look of worry on his face as he spoke.

"Did you get hurt? I hope I didn't get here too late." Leo took a step forward as he spoke.

Leo didn't touch her, but he was close enough to perceive her fragrance, likewise for Rachel.

Rachel was stunned by the sudden questions from this handsome man who saved her life. The look of concern on his face shattered any mental guard she may have set up unconsciously. Unbeknownst to her, a pink fume invisible to the mortal eye was diffusing from Leo, slowly spreading across the club.

"You made it in time and no, I'm not hurt. I'm the one who should be worried about you. You could have gotten hurt for a total stranger." Rachel said with her face bright red already.

"Don't worry, I'm pretty strong for a stranger." Leo said with confidence brimming in his tone.
