"The dragon's core was what I really wanted, but this will have to do." Hood spoke these words as he observed the blue sphere of an uniform shape that hovered on his hand.

"When you absorb that core, you will get the ancient beast's skills and strengths, so it's still a victory for you,"  The statement was made by Shadow as he stood in front of Hood.

Hood sighed as he kept it in his astral storage, "I didn't expect to beat that ancient beast so easily." 

"Since you started taking the tablets that Sango provided you, you've seen a substantial increase in your power." Shadow provided a response.

Sango had given Hood some pills to use as medication after Hood had taken the lightning whip for Lucky when the boy had suddenly appeared out of nowhere that day. Hood had suffered major internal injuries, and the pills had helped him recover a great deal.
