Chapter 14 - Closet

3rd POV: It was Saturday in the blink of an eye and Xiao Zhan was standing in front of his mirror, shirtless with a towel wrapped around his waist, struggling to figure out what to wear. "Zhannie!" Luhan called from outside Xiao Zhan's room, literally kicking down the door a few seconds later. Before Xiao Zhan could even protest with, "Yo! Wait I am not wearing any clothes!", Luhan had already barged into his room and thrown himself on Xiao Zhan's perfectly made bed. "Good Morning, Zhannie. I made breakfast want to have some of it?" After Xiao Zhan had quickly wrapped another towel around his neck, in hope to cover most of his chest, he began having an internal conflict on whether he should install a lock on his door since 'knocking' was definetly not in Luhan's dictionary. Who builds an super-delux apartment made up of formidable doors WITHOUT LOCKS! Seeing that Xiao Zhan was not answering, Luhan looked around the room to see a variety of clothes on the armchair next to the bed. "Oooo who you trying to dress up for and impress?!" Luhan pried with curiosity dripping from his tone. "I'm Mr Wang's companion for the Summer Corperate Banquet today and I have literally no clothes to wear. My sister brought me my clothes from her house but none of them are formal wear." "Wait what? I think I heard you wrong...did you just say that Mr Wang invited you out on a date to a Banquet?" Luhan's eyes were as wide as sausers. "That's because you did hear me wrong...I said I was his companion for work..." Xiao Zhan shook his head and returned back to searching for clothes in his closet. Luhan gasped in offence. "And you did not bother to tell me or Kai and Sehun! I am so offended. Imma call em over now...gotta tell em about your secret randevu you were going to attend without telling us." "But I..." Xiao Zhan turned to protested. "Ah Ah Ah...keep your very pretty and alluring lips shut until our other half is here." Luhan shushed Xiao Zhan by pressing his index finger onto his lips. Xiao Zhan sighed submissively and rolled his eyes. He only wanted to get dressed. ~~~ One thing led to another and all three men were now sitting on Xiao Zhan's NOW very messy bedspread looking up at him with anticipation. Xiao Zhan had thrown on some boxers and a tank top to cover his body from the two new, invading, guests. The man sighed again at the sight of three grown men, who apparently had nothing better to do on their off day, than not so much sitting on the bed as completely lying down on it. Accepting his fate, Xiao Zhan decided to confide in them. "Okay, what do you think about a blue turtle neck with a black suit?" Xiao Zhan asked holding up the two pieces of clothing. After recieving apathetic groans of disapproval, Xiao Zhan turned frustratedly back to his closet, trying to fish out a decent piece of clothing. "So where is this place where the Banquet is being held? And why don't you just wear your usual work clothes?" Sehun asked popping a popcorn into his mouth which he had found in a jar from the kitchen. "I am pretty sure it is the NUO Hotel..." Xiao Zhan mumbled. "Ha and you told us you were not going on a date! Him inviting you to a hotel means he is in love with you." Kai scoffed, throwing a handful of popcorn in his mouth. Xiao Zhan whirled around in disbelief, "Kai...how is being a companion to a banquet and going on a date the same thing?" "Oh but it is..." Kai stated, munching on his popcorn. Sehun leaned over to Kai and added whispering, "No it isn't..." Kai whipped his head to Sehun, "Shush, Hun! I know that, but how else are we gonna get his confidence up for him to make a move on our boss?" Luhan slowly looked up from his phone, befuddled and speechless. Even Luhan felt that Kai was just jabbering whatever nonsense that came to his mind and, to Xiao Zhan's delight, whacked the back of his head. "Do you think he is an idiot?" he hissed at Kai. Whilst their squabble, Xiao Zhan had picked out the most extravagant clothing he could find and slipped it on, twisting and turning to see how he looked like in the mirror. The colourful outfit caught his eye and he just wanted to try it on a few seconds for fun. Luhan however took that way to seriously. He looked up and gasped in horror, "Oh my eyes! Are you trying to kill me with that piece of cloth! I mean sure...Pride colours and all but...you look like you are a performer in the circus! Also please don't ever wear a polkadot suit in front of me again..." Luhan exclaimed, standing up and quickly pulling off the jacket from Xiao Zhan's shoulders, "...I have Trypophobia." "You have left me with no choice, I will provide you with a clothing of my collection." Luhan grabbed XiaoZhan's wrist dragging him out of his room, into his. Kai, Sehun and the polka-dotted jacket were left behind on the bed in Xiao Zhan's room. Kai and Sehun just laid down, spread out on Xiao Zhan's bed, with the jar of popcorn in-between them, in silence. A few minutes later, they heard a loud squeal from the neighbouring room. The two men jumped up and rushed out of Xiao Zhan's room to come to the rescue of their friend. As they entered Luhan's room it was empty with only a bed, a desk and an open closet in view. Kai gasped, "Ahhh they have been kidnapped!" Sehun tapped the back of Kai's head, "No doofus, Luhan has a walk in closet." They walked over to the ajar closet door and peered inside, however the bright light from the inside blocked their view. Without much thought, Sehun and Kai ended up squeezing through Luhan's tiny closet door. It was mystically magestic. The walk in closet was more like an IKEA store than a closet. The vaulted ceiling reached quite a distance above them and crystal chandeliers suspended from the ceiling caused everything in the room to shimmer heavenly. It was a wonderland for designer shoes, bags, suits, scarfs - you name it. The walls were a pearl white that pulsed in the light, sprinkled with shelves that held bags or shoes, mostly with tags that displayed their worth. Sehun and Kai were awestruck and speechless as they looked around the palace-like room. "What the frick is this? Barbie's Life in the Dreamhouse closet! I cannot even see Luhan or Zhan." Kai blurted amazed yet frustrated at the closet. Sehun slowly turned to Kai, "You watch Barbie?" he questioned raising his eye brow in a judging manner. "Well I had a childhood sweetie." Kai said with defiant pride and sauntered further into the closet to look for Luhan and Xiao Zhan. "Haha...wait what? What do you mean! Are you insulting me?" Sehun shouted after Kai following him. ~~~~~~~~~~ "You have got to be kidding me?" Kai mumbled as they approached a white marble, spiral staircase. "How does Luhan even have a closet this big? It's an apartment for goodness sake. Doesn't this staircase, like go though the other apartments?" Kai questioned not being able to comprehend the physics of the layout of the building. "Kai, he lives on the top level. It's a penthouse." Sehun explained as they started to accend the staircase. Just as they reached the top of the staircase Luhan came in their direction. "What are you two doing here?" "LuLu, we heard a scream and got worried. Are you two okay?" Sehun checked. "Oh that? It's alright, Zhanie was just so overwhelmed when he stepped into my closet, he screeched." Luhan chuckled, recalling the memory. "LuLu, the suit is a little tight." Xiao Zhan called, coming out of a room on the 2nd floor, in a noticably luxurious, three-piece pure, black suit that fit like a glove. Xiao Zhan stood in front of the three men in the aristocratic cutting lines of a great tailour, one who could take his well-built and beautiful form, and make him a figure of power and beauty. The illumination of suit from the chandeliers made Xiao Zhan seem even more godly than before. Kai and Sehun could not keep their eyes off him and Kai gulped and opened his mouth to speak, "Damm if you were a girl, I'd..." "Which he is not. Snap out of it, he's your friend." Luhan stated as a matter of fact. Xiao Zhan ginned at the compliment. "Wow Zhan, you do look beautiful. No doubt you will be the cynosure of the banquet." Sehun commented patting Xiao Zhan's arm. Then he leaned in and whispered, "Personally, if I were you. I'd watch out for my virginity." XiaoZhan's eyes widened in shock as he pushed the smiling Sehun away, "HunHun!" "He just stated the truth, Zhan" Luhan backed Sehun up, which made it very obvious that Sehun's whispering could not be considered whispering. ~~~~~~~~~~ "Anyways..." Luhan added closing the doors to his closet after everyone had exited the laburinth. Xiao Zhan had changed out of Luhan's clothes and held them gently in his arms. "...as a companion you usually just have to support and make the job of meeting people easier for the boss. Nothing too complicated. I can tell you one thing tho...you will be the king at that buisness banquet." "You mean Queen." Kai corrected erupting in a bunch of giggles, earning a smack on the back of his head from Luhan...again. "Wait a sec, Luhan you still have not told us why you have so much expensive stuff? Are you like extremely rich? Wait so why are you working as an intern at Wang Corporation..." Sehun tried to connect Luhan's life decisions with reasons, but obviously failed. Luhan looked over to Sehun and held his index finger to his lips, "That's a secret of mine I will tell you another day." "Tell us now! Tell us now!" Kai screamed and tackled Luhan, pushing him onto his bed and wrestling him. The four men spent the next hour laughing, fighting and shouting, generally having a blast with each other. Looking at his brothers, Xiao Zhan then noticed that he would be so lost and lonely without them. Yes, even Kai with his terrible comments. He was grateful to the three men and loved them with all his heart. See you next chapter.
