Hickey episode
The couple spent their weekend, close together, very close. Liang was back to his clingy self and Jinjing was thankful for it. The stoic and aloof Liang was good for the corporate world. She did not want any part of it.
He followed her like a little puppy everywhere she went. When cooking, he would hug her from behind, nuzzle, bite, fondle, tickle. Sometimes even cut and chop veggies while still hugging her.
It was no different while taking a bath. The time they took a shower, they first spent an hour soaking in the tub. Jinjing indulged in some reading and wine, but Liang's wine was his wife.
He did nothing but tease Jinjing. He did not get a glass of wine for himself. He liked to drink from Jinjing's glass, but what he loved was to drink from her.
When she would take a sip, he would clutch onto her mouth, turning it to his and seal her lips, drinking from it. Jinjing would be left with only the taste of wine, whereas he would gulp the entire liquid. When this kept repeating, Jinjing pouted furiously. But the shameless hubby just grinned from ear to ear.
In the evening, the couple decided to visit Jinjing's house first. Her parents were surprised to see her return to city B before schedule. Mama Lee thought she just arrived in the city and wanted to even enquire about it, but when she saw that blaring hickey on her neck, she gulped hard and kept her mouth shut.
Papa Lee also noticed it and did not know where to look. Jinjing noticed their awkward behavior but could not understand the reason for it. Mama Lee went into the kitchen and called out to Jinjing shortly. When Jinjing went to the kitchen, in a low voice Mama Lee said to her, "we are pretty modern, but at least hide those love bites." Pointing at the reddish blue mark on her neck.
Jinjing panicked and covered it with her hand, realizing the reason why her father was averting her gaze. She had completely forgotten about the hickeys. She quickly went up to her room and fetched for some foundation and concealer. Applying them, she was somewhat able to hide the signs of their wildly passionate weekend.
Flustered, she made her way back to the lounge where Liang and Papa Lee where chatting about business stuff. Jinjing sat next to Liang, who immediately placed his hand around her waist. The awkwardness from the hickey episode was still prevalent and now this, she shifted a little in her seat, trying to signal Liang to take his hand away. But guess his receptors were out of order, for instead of moving it away, he pulled her closer to himself.
Papa Lee simple cleared his throat, "Ahemm….". Before it could get any more awkward, Mama Lee's entry with some snacks and tea saved the day. When she settled down, Liang said in a solemn tone, "uncle, aunty…. Jinjing and I have come to seek your permission to get our marriage registered." As nervous as he was, he blurted everything out in one breath, leaving the older couple astonished.
"we would like to register our marriage first on Monday in the presence of both the families." Jinjing's timid voice got her parents out of their daze.
Finally understanding what the young couple was proposing, Mr. and Mrs. Lee were elated. This is what they wanted. Mama Lee's face was a mirror of her true emotions, but Papa Lee like any other man, or to be precise the father of a daughter, found it hard to emote. His heart felt heavy. Looking at him, Jinjing went to sit beside him. Placing her head on his shoulder she asked, "what's the matter papa? Why do you look sad? Aren't you happy that we are getting married?"
Patting her head Papa Lee said, "I am very happy, but the thought of giving you away is weighing on my heart. Even though you stayed away from home, but giving my beloved daughter to someone else forever, is different."
Jinjing hugged her father's waist, still leaning on his shoulder, and said, "I love you a lot papa! And I will always be your little princess." Papa Lee kissed her on the head.
Pulling her away from her father, mama Lee embraced Jinjing in her motherly warmth. She did not say anything just pecked on her forehead. "come on! The tea will get cold, let's eat some snacks." Mama Lee suggested.
Liang gestured Jinjing to come back to him, which did not go unnoticed by her parents. They could only shake their head and chuckle at their son-in-laws behavior. Jinjing glared at him but nevertheless went to sit beside him.
The next stop was the Sheng household.
