54 Aiden stays behind
Jayden held his phone and walked impatiently around the living room. Mike was holding his head worried about the tea he made. When Aiden and Elina entered the house, they both looked at the depressing atmosphere and felt like something was not correct.
Elina thought, 'Did Jennifer get angry again and bashed them both?'
"What happened, why are you both looking like you ate shit?" Aiden asked.
They both glared at him for a second but later continued to behave like how they were before.
"Come on, guys! Tell us what your problem is. We will all try to resolve it." Elina encouraged them to speak.
"Jennifer…" Jayden started.
"Jennifer…"Mike said at the same time.
"One by one! You can complain to Elina, all you want. I am going to take a bath" Aiden tried to escape but Elina pulled him down and made him sit next to her.
"Jennifer…"
"Jennifer…"
Once again they both started to speak at the same time. Aiden looked at them both and said, "Since Mike is an elder, he gets the first priority to talk. Jayden you hang on there for a minute."
"Jennifer did not like my herbal tea because it was not good! Here taste it and see… something is definitely wrong that's why she did not like it and she left angrily knocking Jayden out" Mike complained.
"What? Jennifer left? When?" Elina jumped up in shock and asked.
"Like two days ago…" Mike said hesitatingly.
"Why did no one inform me about this?" Elina demanded.
"And her phone has not been reachable for a long time. Do you know where she might go?" Jayden asked.
"She always stays at her parent's house. She never liked to go anywhere." Elina replied and then turned to Aiden and asked,
"Is that why you took me away from here saying you want to enjoy the night sky with me?"
"Yes, I mean no! I really wanted to enjoy the night sky with you. Didn't you say you liked the full moon and having s*x in open?"
Elina leaned and closed his mouth and warned, "Shut up! If you say one more word, I would never sleep with you ever again."
Then she looked at Jayden and asked, "We need to leave now and search for her. I really cannot understand why she would go so suddenly without even telling me about it!"
"I am telling you it's all because of my herbal tea..." Mike started once again.
They all turned towards him and shouted at the same time, "It is not because of your herbal tea, Dad. Yours is the best in the world. So relax."
"Let's go," Jayden came next to Elina and put his hand on her shoulders.
"Don't you dare put your hands on her" Aiden shouted from behind.
"Shut up" Jayden and Elina shouted and walked out of the house.
"Are you not going with them?" Mike asked.
"No! I am staying behind for a few more days. My whole team was hurt in the previous mission, so we are not taking any more missions for the time being. So, dad, I will be staying at your place and drinking your herbal tea all day, every day..." Aiden said.
Mike, finally getting his spirit back, jumped out from the sofa, and walked briskly towards the kitchen to make herbal tea for Aiden.
Even though everything went according to his plan, he felt like something did not fit the puzzle. He planned the operation and intentionally got caught but someone indeed helped him from behind. Or else the escape would have not been so smooth. He expected a hard-end fight and he was sure that he might have not won.
Someone, who definitely had some high-power inside the golden poison helped him. But who is that person? What am I missing?
Mike came back with herbal tea and gave it to Aiden.
"Thanks, dad. You are the best!" Aiden said.
"... I don't know if I should say this but you are being influenced by Elina a lot."
"What?" Aiden looked at him blankly.
"You never sweet talk to me, or to be frank, you to anyone in that manner. Not even to Jayden! I thought that quality only belonged to Jayden and today you proved me wrong."
Aiden just huffed and got up from the sofa to finish his bath. He was completely drenched in sweat and smelling a lot worse. Not having Elina with him right now, made him feel slightly empty as if he was missing something important.
He picked his phone and dialed her number. He heard the phone ring when he opened his room door. Then he realized that he made her leave the phone so that they won't be disturbed by anyone else.
He frustratingly kicked the door and threw the phone on the bed. He walked towards the shower and opened the cold water. His phone rang at that moment, he came rushing out and picked the call.
"Boss, where are you? How are you? When I came back from finishing the task you assigned me, I was told that an impersonator came along with your two girls…" Before Sam could continue, Aiden spoke in between.
"He is no impersonator, he is my twin brother. And please do not behave like you do not know him at all! Why did you call me?"
"I just wanted to check when you will be coming back?"
"I won't be back anytime soon. I am planning to take a long vacation. I suddenly realized that I have never taken one in my whole life. So, how did the work go? Did you find her?"
"No. Melissa was declared dead as per the official documents. But I found a clue about her second identity."
"Good! Keep investigating it. If I am not wrong she is working for Logan now. I want each and every detail about her including how she met Alex and why she ran away from their marriage. I am sure it was not because of Alex's mother. There is something she is hiding from everyone. If required send hints to Alex and try to get him on our side."
"Isn't it easy if you ask Jayden to do this?"
"No! He is busy as his wife ran away?"
"What Jennifer got married to Jayden? That's news for me! So did she run away with her old boyfriend?"
"Why don't you ask this to Jayden directly? Maybe I will meet you in hell one day and we can discuss what he did to you!"
"Boss, No thanks! I am good! Bye! I will send you the details once I find anything useful."
"Hold on! Also, investigate a couple… They died in a car accident, 20 years ago. I want you to get everything about them before their accident" Aiden then gave his parents name to Sam.
