The unspeakable past.

As Ava entered into her room. Her countenance was in no place to be seen by anyone. She shut her door and locked it. She walked towards the table where her audio player was on.

She placed her hands on the table and turned on the music to a sad solo slow song. Of course, she only choose the most melancholic song to cry the more.

Her head was splitting into two. She had always encountered problems in her life. No matter were she was in this world, she felt like there was no place for her in her world. Ava tried to stand up so she could lie on her bed.

But her legs were to numb. And couldn't control her legs. So there, Ava laid in grieve and skepticism. She had doubts about her existence. Whenever she believed that there were good people, somehow she would always be proved wrong once again. She felt her life was just complicated unsolvable puzzles. The pain Ava had was the most excruciating and unbearable.

Ava hit her hand on the floor several times in a desperate attempt to feel something other than the pain that throbbed in her heart. But the soreness from her bruised hands was nothing compared to the ache of her heart.

"My life is like a museum... People come and go, but no one ever really stays. I'm just a passing curiosity, an exhibit that people examine for a moment before moving on to the next one. I'm not someone worth remembering, someone worth being cared for and loved." Ava's words were trapped in a wall of bitterness as she tried to speak.

There was a sudden knock on the door that drew Ava out of her land of rue for just a moment.

Hey, Ava your door is locked. Ava's sister said while knocking on the door. Ava wiped her tears with her clothes in haste and went to open the door for Kelly.

Ava opened the door for Kelly, as she did Ava's smile lit up her face, her eyes crinkling at the corners, but the smile didn't reach her eyes. There was something false about the expression, as if it were a mask she was wearing.

Kelly was Ava's sister, her hair was like a grey ocean, her eyes like the red berries of summer, her nose like a delicate mountain peak, and her smile like the first rays of dawn. The off-hand shirt she was wearing, was rich, deep red.Her jeans were a deep blue, the color of the midnight sky. The denim was soft and comfortable, with just a hint of stretch. The seams were straight and neat, giving the jeans a clean and professional look. She was a force of nature, as wild and free as the wind.

"Avahhhh, what you doing" Her words pulled out of her mouth like she was singing.

"Um, I'm just um cleaning up my wardrobe."

"What, but you never do that on weekdays? "I just decided to do it. Mmm." Ava avoided eye contact with her sister, Kelly, because even the slightest strand of hair out of place would be immediately noticed by her keen eyes.

Kelly noticed that she was trying to avoid eye contact."Kelly could tell something was up with her sister. Ava kept her gaze downcast, refusing to look her in the eye. "Come on, Ava, you can tell me what's going on." She said, putting her hand on Ava's shoulder.

"You can tell me."

"I don't want to talk about it." She walked to her desk and sat down on her chair. Kelly stood there for a moment, not sure what to do. She wanted to help her sister, but she didn't want to push her too hard. She walked over to the desk and sat down in the chair next to Ava, giving her some space but still showing that she was there for her.

Kelly looked at Ava and said, 'oh no, lighten up! You're wound tighter than a rubber band! Don't you know that laughter is the best medicine? Life is too short for you to be serious all the time. Mmm." Ava just rolled her eyes and tried to look annoyed, but she couldn't help but crack a smirk."

Kelly tried to soothe her with more placating words "I want to tell you a story. It's an old Native American legend about two wolves.' Ava looked at Kelly with interest, and said, 'Okay, I'm listening.' Kelly said, 'In this legend, there are two wolves inside of each person. One wolf is filled with hatred, anger, and greed. The other wolf is filled with love, compassion, and kindness.' Ava nodded. Kelly continued, 'The grandson in the story asks his grandfather, 'Which wolf wins?' The grandfather replies, 'The wolf that wins is the one you feed.' The grandson thinks about this for a moment, then asks, 'Which wolf do you feed, Grandfather?' The grandfather's reply was simple and profound. He said, 'The one that brings me peace.' Ava looked at Kelly with tears in her eyes. She said, 'I see what you're saying. It's up to me to decide how I want to feel.' Kelly stood up with so much enthusiasm and said.

" Exactly, you're a good person and I know that." She said pompously.

"That's an interesting story, but I think there is something wrong with this story. I'm not sure it's that simple. Sometimes, the world is full of grey areas, and it's not as easy as just choosing one wolf or the other. I think we have a lot of different emotions inside of us, and it's not always easy to choose one or the other.Sometimes, the bad wolf helps us protect ourselves and make good decisions. Sometimes, the good wolf can lead us astray. So I don't think it's as simple as just choosing one or the other."

Kelly could only stare at her with frustration, while her mouth agape.

"Ava, you can't be serious. I thought you just got it." She sighed heavily.

"What I'm trying to say is that... In school today the teacher was teaching about Good Parent-Children Relationships. Then after, Darcy and all her little doofus friends, had to get on my last and my most weak nerves so I thought her a lesson. And the explanation I gave on how bad wolves helps us protect ourselves and makes good descions only work for petty feathered-brains like Darcy and her maniac friends, they would rather think of it that way... Oh my, that came out real quick."

"What did you do to her now? Ava, I understand that what happened in the past was nerve-wracking for our family, and I know it's not easy to move on. But maybe it would be helpful to see those experiences as lessons that can make you stronger, rather than something that you need to fight against or get rid of. Maybe you can use those experiences to learn and grow, instead of seeing them as something negative that you need to eliminate from your life and..."

"And that is exactly what I'm doing... I- I'm doing what any human would do, learn and grow from my mistakes and not lean on them again. I am literally doing what you just said." Ava interrupted. Tears dripped down her red eyes like drops of rains sliding down a window on a stormy day. Her voice was shaky and Kelly was just waiting for her to let down all her thoughts. "Papa was... and, I mean Calvin was the only person I ever trusted and I would never again go back to my vomit . So stop always trying to brief me about what can never be changed. I was trying to hide these tears but it's all futile and my agony but those Darcy and-a..." Ava paused because her mouth were too dry, too bitter in her throat like she was having a surgery on it . She was bereft of words, she could no longer speak well out of her surplus grievances.

"Humph, I know what you need now. Let's go get you what you love at times like this."

"Wha-aaas, Ahem,Ahem." She did not want to talk so much cause if she did she would feel a sharp pain in her throat.

.....

Ava was wearing a black top, black ripped boyfriend jeans. She tied a denim jackets on her waste with converse shoes. She also wore a beanie on and her black-brown wavy long hair swept down graciously at different directions that landed on her shoulders. Ava had exquisite facial feautres;like how she has a beaming sublime grey eyes that prepossesses Ava's oval shaped head. Her birth mark, a small, dark mark located on her skin located just below her right eye, near the corner of her eyelid.

Kelly and Ava were both sitting down in a park while Ava was drawing and were both licking Brown butter bacon ice-cream. Ava was feeling the breeze surrounding her skin and the breeze also flowing through her hair. She loved nature so much she could draw every thing in the park related to nature. Her mind was settled and unperturbed, well just for a moment.

"How I love this ice-cream and this beautiful view, I haven't been to this park in these past few dyas, you know what interest me Kel."

"I know. Sometimes all we need is a beautiful view and an ice-cream that can make us forget our sorrows for a short while. Don't you think?"

"Mmm"

"Absolutely right, you have no idea how much this helps." Ava sighed in relief.

"Ha, yeah I do! So up next we have to pickup Jane from her dance class lessons, I wonder why mom wanted us to do that when she could just walk home by herself."

" It's obvious, so she could feel Mom."

"Hahaha. I see what you did there."
