Chapter 1

As I fell through the sky, you might wonder how I ended up in such a strange situation. Well, let me tell you how it all began.

It was just like any other day. I dragged myself out of bed, went to my college classes, struggled through the day and eventually made my way back home. Usually, when I got home, I'd try to go to bed, but sleep rarely came easy with my ADHD. However, on this particular day, I was so exhausted that I fell asleep almost as soon as I hit the pillow.

When I woke up, I realized I was already two hours late. Panicking, I rushed to the bus stop, desperately hoping I wouldn't get in trouble. This was my last chance before I was fired. But when I got to the stop, I saw the bus pulling away, leaving me stranded for another hour.

With nothing else to do, I pulled out my phone and started scrolling through stuff like when the next "Solo Leveling" chapter would come out or checking out "Hazbin Hotel" memes. Then, out of nowhere, this weird survey popped up on my screen.

Now, I'm no stranger to online scams, so I tried to close the survey, but it wouldn't go away. I even tried restarting my phone, but that didn't work either. The survey was titled "Wonder Corporation for Misguided Souls," which sounded pretty sketchy to me.

Despite my doubts, I decided to check out the survey questions. It was all about wishing to be reincarnated in another world, which seemed pretty far-fetched. But part of me was curious, wondering if it was some kind of prank or maybe something real. I couldn't shake the feeling of uncertainty as I debated what to do next.

I decided to go ahead and answer the survey questions to see where it would lead me. The first question asked if I liked my life. I answered affirmatively, feeling content with where I was at. Despite graduating from college a semester late, I had recently secured a job, bought my own house, and was managing my bills independently. Moreover, I was grateful for my loving family, especially my mom and my sisters.

The next question posed whether I would explore a new world if given the chance, to which I eagerly responded, "Absolutely!" The survey then presented me with a list of options reminiscent of various anime worlds, including 40K, Universe, Black Clover, Marvel, My Hero, and even Lucifer from Netflix. Despite the tempting array, I settled on the Pokémon world, enamored by the idea of having a cute companion by my side, even though I never imagined having one in reality.

Following that, the survey inquired if I desired anything specific from the chosen world, such as zombies or a harem. Lacking any specific desires, I clicked on "I don't know." However, the subsequent question truly piqued my interest. It asked for three wishes I desired.

After pondering for what felt like an eternity, I settled on three wishes. Firstly, I wished for extreme senses, allowing me to heighten or suppress my senses, including perception and instincts. Secondly, I opted for communication, granting me the ability to converse with anything and everything. Given my fondness for talking, it seemed like a practical choice. Lastly, I selected perfect stealth, which promised to render me invisible to even the eyes of God, an ability that could undoubtedly prove invaluable.

The subsequent questions were more straightforward, asking me to choose between aura and psychic abilities. I chose psychic abilities, and then proceeded to customize my appearance to closely resemble my actual self—a light-skinned mixed kid with dark dreads.

Then came the pivotal question where I made a critical error. It asked how I would like to enter the new world, offering options like being reborn as a baby or waking up with amnesia. Without much thought, I impulsively selected "dropped off," assuming it would randomly place me in the new world. Little did I know, that decision would lead to my unforeseen descent into darkness, my vision blurring and everything fading to black in an instant.

As I continued my seemingly endless descent through the sky, frustration and fear gnawed at me. How long had I been falling? Five hours? It felt like an eternity. The last thing I remembered upon waking up was hurtling through a swirling vortex of blue, purple, and pink, followed by a desolate black void peppered with twinkling stars that resembled space. I desperately hoped it wasn't the real deal.

As the sky gradually shifted to a bluish hue, I couldn't shake the sinking feeling of losing everything—my family, my job, my education—all slipping away as I plummeted. Amidst the turmoil, a fleeting sight caught my eye: a bird soaring nearby. Was that... a Pidgey? It was a bizarre realization, but it finally dawned on me: the survey was real. I had been isekai'd, transported to another world, and now I was hurtling towards what seemed like certain doom.

As the ground rushed up to meet me, panic surged through me. A lush green forest came into view, but it offered little solace in the face of impending impact. I screamed, a primal cry of denial as I hurtled towards the unforgiving earth. This couldn't be how it ended, I protested internally.

Then, with a bone-jarring thud, I made contact with the ground, sending shockwaves reverberating through my body. Darkness enveloped me once more, my vision fading to black for the second time that day.
