Magna said excitedly. "Let's start this thing! First, show me just how much guts and stamina you have! Five thousand sit-"

But before he could finish his sentence, a flying slash passed near him, creating a big cut on the ground.

"If you're going to ask me to do such lousy things then I better cut you in half," Alex said lightly.

Everyone was surprised as they were unable to close their mouths. Except for Yami, no one even realized when Alex unsheathed his sword.

"Magna, watch what you ask him to do or he'll really slice you in half," Yami said as he released a cloud of smoke.

Hearing Captain Yami's serious words, everyone was shocked and looked toward Finral who nodded his head like a chicken.

"Alright then, let's start the final test. You can use magic or whatever else you want... to either block or dodge my attack magic! If you're able to do that you'll officially be one of us Black Bulls and get your precious robe!" Magna gulped down but still underestimated him as he said.

Magna created a flame bat and started firing many fireballs at Asta.

Alex sighed as his attack was too reckless and only ten percent was targeted at parts of his body. He tilted his body slightly and avoided all of them, without even leaving his original spot.

"What the..."

"The kid's good."

"He didn't even move from his original spot."

Seeing his attacks not hitting the target, Magna compressed the fireball before throwing it toward Asta like a baseball pitcher.

'Well, it's a rather decent attack. But still...' Asta clenched his fist and punched the ball, changing his direction. It flew towards a tree and burned it.

"He did that... with his bare hands."

"Oh my god!"

"Child's Play!" Alex said as he moved towards Magna. "Your attacks are just child's play."

He unsheathed his sword and slashed toward the forest, destroying over two dozen trees. "This is what you call an attack!"

"Alright, alright, don't scare the kids," Yami said with a laugh.

After that, he received his robe. Then Magna showed him his room. He wrote a letter to the church before going to sleep...

The next day a messenger owl delivered two letters to the church in Hage village.

Lily received the letters and was surprised to find that the letters were from Alex and Yuno.

"What did the letters say?" Father Orsi couldn't control his excitement and asked.

Sister Lily replied with a smile. "They both made it to the Magic Knight Squads."

"Really? Haha... They both are our pride." Father Orsi wiped the tears of happiness.

"Yuno's cool!"

"Asta is amazing!"

Father Orsi picked up his flying broom and said, "I've to share this happy news with everyone."

Lily looked at the sky and said, "Asta, Yuno, congratulations!"

'Eehh! I knew it. Hehe... how can Asta be not selected? But now I have to wait until he comes back... I miss him so much already~'

"I should work hard too if I want to be like them someday," Nash said and went to train himself.

"Asta, so here you are."

Alex was training in the woods, exercising when a voice interrupted him. He turned around and saw Magna approaching him.

"You're early," Magna said with a smile. "You're in luck, my man. I'll personally show you around our base."

"Okay," Ales stood up and followed Magna.

"This is the cafeteria!" Magna shouted in amazement as he showed him a huge hall.

"What do you think? It's stupidly huge!"

Alex nodded his head.

Then he took him to baths and shouted again. "And this here is our bath."

Alex said, "Tell me the schedule for guys and ladies later so I don't disturb the girls."

Magna then showed him around the other places too but the funniest part was the toilet. That idiot opened it when Yami was inside it.

Magna got the life scared out of him.

When they were walking around, the duo stumbled upon a girl with big purple eyes and long silver hair.

"Ah, so here you are. Asta, she is the other one who is admitted this year." Magna said. "Hey newbie, what was your name again? And why the hell aren't you wearing your rob?"

"Who gave you permission to talk to me?" Noelle said smugly and arrogantly. "I'm Noelle Silva, a royal. How dare you, a peasant talk to me like that?"

This pissed off Magna and he started arguing with Noelle which caused the latter to shoot a water attack at the former. But as her aim was amiss, her attack turned towards Alex.

Alex sighed and tilted his body to the side, avoiding it with ease.

"Hmph, I want nothing to do with this order," Noella said angrily and left the place, throwing away her robes.

"Hey, where the hell do you think you're going? Get back here!" Magna shouted.

"Just let her alone for some time." Alex patted Magna's shoulder and said.

Magna nodded and went to do his things as he was in a bad mood.

After Magna left, Alex followed Noelle to her training place.

Noelle didn't seem to feel someone following her and continued her target practice.

But even after a dozen attempts, she didn't succeed.

"Why? Why?... Why can't I land a single hit?" Noelle murmured as she tried to catch her breath. She was exhausted from using too much magic.

She thought about her painful childhood memories and all the insults, causing her magic to get out of control and swallow her inside.

A huge ball of water with a bunch of tentacles rose in the air.

Everyone was surprised by the sudden change and came out to check it out.

"If we tried to suppress it by force then the girl might die." Yami looked at the huge water ball and thought about away. "We need someone to nullify the magic but..."

"Just leave it to me."

Suddenly a figure landed beside him.

Yami glanced at the person and nodded his head.

Alex turned around and jumped straight at the ball, passing through it.

When he emerged from the other side, he was carrying Noelle in his left hand while his right hand held the demon slayer.

"What the... How the hell did he do that?" Finral rubbed his eyes to make sure he didn't see wrong.

"That's... amazing!" Vanessa couldn't help exclaiming. 'He is not only handsome but so strong too.'

"But what about this huge water ball?"

Yami took a puff of a cigarette and said. "He had already taken care of it."

*What?!*

With five large exclamations, an explosion occurred and the huge water ball split into six pieces before vanishing.

"Just when did he?..." Magna's jaw fell to the floor, nobody even realized when Alex pulled that sword.

"Hmm... he had improved since we met. With his skills and that anti-magic ability, he can easily go toe-to-toe with any captain!" Yami stared at the sword with interest.

'Anti-magic, huh! Well, the sword is quite good.'
