Ash pat her shoulder, "It's okay Misty, I have a
small case of claustrophobia myself. Riding on
anything smaller than a bus makes me queasy."
Duplica, "Man, that sucks!"
Zoey rubbed his chin, "I am a little terrified of
ghost types. Of course Professor Oak's Gengar is
really cool but.... you know."
Leaf, "We get it, it's like Misty's fear of bug
types."
Zoey nodded, "I hope I will be able to get over it."
Gary gave a wary smile, "At least you guys know
what you fear and are working on it. I know I'm
scared of letting my Grandpa down. Aside from
that I'm not sure."
Green gave a chuckle, "I think we are all afraid of
disappointing our parents."
Duplica, "Can't argue against that."
Misty laughed, "No, we can't!"
The next two days of the summer camp passed by
without any more incidents or children going
missing. The older Pokemon that belonged to the
Professor and the assistants made sure to help
with that particular endeavor.. The night before it
was time to leave they had a camp party together
and shared contact information with the new
friends they had made with promises to either
write or call each other.
The rest of the month passed by slowly after the
summer camp ended. The most exciting thing to
do was care about the Pokemon eggs they had
found in the wild during camp. At one point the
eggs had started to glow getting them excited
only for the boys to sigh in disappointment when
it turned out to be a false alarm. The Professor
had laughed heartily and told them the egg was
very healthy and getting ready to hatch. The
Professor had also given one egg each to the four
boys to care for. Gary and Ash had been a little
reluctant to part with the eggs but understood
that taking care of poke eggs and a newborn
Pokemon would be a little too much
responsibility for someone who has never taken
care of Pokemon before. Apart from having a
Pokemon egg to care about Ash had taken the
time to write down the story.
During a sleepover at the end of the first summer
month Ash poked Gary, "Hey Gary?"
Gary who was playing a video game answered,
"What's up Ashy?"
Ash was a bit disgruntled by that nickname but
did not make a fuss, "Do you remember the story
I said I was thinking about writing?"
Gary paused his game, "Yeah! What about it? You
are not going to give up on it, are you?"
Ash shook his head, "No, no, nothing like that.
Actually I finished writing it two days ago and I
wanted to know if you still want to read it?"
Gary placed the controller down, "Of course I do.
It sounded so interesting when you told us about
it before. I want to read it."
Ash smiled, "Alright then, but you have to be
honest about what you think about it okay?"
Gary grinned, "Okay Ashy, no problem!"
eggs belonging to him and Gary placed
on top of it. The Professor had told them one of
the best way to hatch the eggs was to carry it with
them everywhere and to keep them in a close
distance so they could feel their presence. Ash
pulled open one of the drawers of the table and
took out the file that he used to hold the papers
containing the story together.
Ash held it out to Gary, "Here it is. I hope you like
it."
Gary took the papers from Ash and started to read
it quietly. Ash fidgeted for a while as Gary read
the story, before getting up and going downstairs
to get something to eat as a snack. Mr Mime
noticed him and called him over handing him a
tray holding cookies and two glasses filled with
vanilla and chocolate milkshakes.
Ash smiled at the older Pokemon, "Thank you
very much Mr Mime."
Mr Mime watched the young human return to his
room. He remembers when he first met Delia, he
was minding his own business that day when all
of a sudden a turf war started out of nowhere. He had gotten caught in the crossfire and gotten hurt but luckily he had managed to escape from there and avoided getting seriously injured. He had walked for quite a bit before he ran into a female human who took one look at him before holding out an Oran berry and a Pecha berry for him to take. The human had smiled kindly at him before leaving him and he had followed her out of curiosity
Then there had been the curious meeting with the
young child that he remembered very vividly.
When he first saw the child, Ash, the little human
cub had stared at him unblinkingly making him
feel a little unnerved at the stare. Delia had
chuckled and commented that he would have
been the first Pokemon that little Ash saw.
