New Life

 " Hey honey, I don't feel good, and I was hoping that you could grab some dinner on your way home from work?" My wife called me and asked just as I was clocking out for the night. It was the middle of the night and only the streetlights illuminated the parking lot.

"Of course, babe, everything ok?" I answered as I fumbled my keys out of my pocket and click to unlock my car.

"Yea I'm fine, just have a headache and I'm feeling a little dizzy. But I was thinking maybe grabbing something quick from a drive-thru or something like that. It's up to you what sounds good." I felt bad she didn't feel good but then again, she's the kind of person that doesn't eat unless someone reminds her so this wasn't a rare occurrence.

I said I would and that most likely it'd just be something I find on the drive home. After a quick love you, bye, I hung up and started the hour-long drive home… Well now hour and some change since I've got an extra stop to make.
