1 why is suddenly transferring here?

On a sunny Monday morning , the third-floor office of the police headquarters was filled with loud noise almost like the famous Saturday market. The detectives that day were about to be stunned by the news they would receive that morning.

"Quiet" the chief superintendent shouted from his desk, the room suddenly became silent almost as if they had all disappeared into thin air. The chief superintendent cleared his throat with a sharp cough as he gained the attention of his fellow officers.

"As I said earlier, detective Barbara Wood is going to be joining the homicide and violence department to help solve the ongoing high profile murder cases that you bunch of morons have not been able to solve!"

"Sir, are you talking about the Barbara Wood that we are all expecting. I heard that she was an undercover detective, but I thought it was just a rumour. How did she really become a detective"? detective William curiously asked.

"Why is she suddenly coming to the capital when she has been hiding all these years working as an undercover. How would we know if she is not the person that have been murdering the victims? Moreover, what if the public finds out about this. The daughter of the famously serial killers is working in the police headquarters. The public will outrage" Sharon bluntly shouted out from across the room.

The detectives in room started to nod their heads to agreement with what Sharon said.

Sharon Smith was the chief superintendent's daughter. Therefore, she was not scared of him, so she decided to say her views instead of hiding it like the other people in the room.

"Sharon, did I give you the right to speak" the chief superintendent said angrily. Sharon frowned her face when she heard what the chief superintendent said

"Sir, can I speak freely?" Muttered the voice from the corner of the room. Suddenly all heads turned around the direction of the voice. How could they have forgot that he was in the room? He sat there quietly waiting for the chief superintendent to respond him. "Of course, Bismarck. You have all the right to speak" The chief superintendent replied.

Bismarck Moore was the head detective of homicide and violence department. He was someone that all the members of the homicide and violence department highly respected and knew that he was the chief superintendent's favourite. This is because he is 28 years old but the amount of cases, he had solved are more than most the detectives who have done the job for 40 years.

"To be honest, why are we having this meeting when we have a psycho who is likely to have abducted more than one girl and we have less than 2 hours to get evidence to officially arrest him else we have to let him go. Therefore, if this new detective can help us then why are we wasting time on agreeing if she is allowed to work in this department" Bismarck explained to them.

There was an absolute silence and heads down because they knew he was right, and the lives of the missing girls was much more important than the debate of whether the new detective should be allowed on the squad.

"Then sir, I think this meeting is over. My team need to go and find out evidence against this psycho because he might be hiding more victims" Bismarck said. He started to leave the room with the rest of the homicide and violence department members.

As he opened the door, he came face to face with a young lady who was standing on the other side of the door. The two of them stared at each other intensively for a few seconds.

"Good morning, I am detective Barbara Wood and you must be detective Bismarck Moore" Barbara said with a smile on her face.

Bismarck was about to respond when his phone started to ring. "Sorry, I have to take this important phone call "Bismarck replied with a softness in his voice as he walked away to take the call.

"Detective Wood "shouted the chief superintendent from across the room. Suddenly all head turn with a swift movement in the direction of Barbara.

"How long have you been standing there" The chief superintendent asked with excitement in his voice.

Barbara revealed that she has been waiting for a while, but they were having a meeting, so she decided to wait for them to finish. "Let's go to my office, Miss wood"

Barbara smiled to the members of the H&V Department and followed the chief. Her smile brought chills to some of the detectives as somewhere still in shock that they were looking at her almost as if she was a fictional character that had been made up.

"Do you think she heard us?" detective Lucia whispered under her breath, "Obviously" muttered Chanel and Charline who were standing next to her on either side.

"that is so creepy. How can she stand there and smile at us if she heard us? I am really sacred, detective Sharon. Please do something about this" detective William muttered in worried voice.

"What do you mean? If detective Bismarck did not say anything then what can I do." Sharon replied back. "Then please try and convince detective Bismarck to stop her from joining our team" William said.

"That crazy girl, how can she come here without telling me" Sharon said. "Who are you talking about? "William asked.

Sharon ignored him when she heard what he said.

"Guys, detective Bismarck, just sent me a text that if we are not in the office in five minutes time then we will be in trouble" Detective Selina shouted.

Everyone began to gather their documentation as they ran towards the door. They knew that Bismarck should never be kept waiting.

All the detectives in the homicide and violence department knew that one of the things that Bismarck hated the most is time wasting. He always tells them that when it comes to time, every seconds and minutes are important.

As they entered the office Bismarck was still on the phone. As he hung up the phone, he became extremely silent for a while. You could literally hear a pin drop in the middle of the room. As Bismarck looked up to address the room he said with a heavy heart.

"The forensics evidence has come back , the finger prints that we sent off does not match that psycho and none of the evidence found on the girl's body can be linked back to him" Bismarck revealed to them.

"Then what are we supposed to do, if we release him, he will kill more innocent girls'' detective James replied". "Well, we do not know if he is keeping more girls" Muttered detective Lucia.

The door of the meeting room suddenly opened, and the chief superintendent and Barbara entered. The chief superintendent revealed to them that Barbara had decided to interrogate the Murderer. Bismarck looked at his watch and knew that there was not enough time until his release, so he agreed.

However, his decision was frowned upon by his entire department, but they could not voice out their opinion.
