Chapter 12

The morning breakfast was usual except for Benjamin and Kendall joining us and Zaden who seems to be in a very happy mood. It was like he knows his crush is in love with him. As usual, I and Zaden went to school.

When I was walking towards my locker after fifth class, I was roughly pulled into an empty classroom by my collar. I turned around and saw Arianna and her cronies.

"Aubri, stay away from him," she threatened me. But I was confused whom she was referring to.

"Arin, she didn't understand you," one of her cronies said, seeing my confused face.

"I'm talking about Zaden. Stay away or else..." She took a step towards me and slapped me on my right cheek. "This is just a warning. Let's go, girls," she said and went away with her cronies following behind. The whole of the sixth period, I spent in the empty classroom.

During the last class, everyone was looking at me especially my cheek. I ignored all of their looks and concentrate on my work.

Soon the bell rang signalling the end of last class. I went towards my locker and there was Jaxon leaning beside my locker. On seeing my face he clenched his jaw and asked, " What happened to your cheek, Aub?"

"Nothing."

"Aubri, please say what happened? " When I didn't say anything he added, "Ok, don't tell me but let's go to the nurse."

"No need."

"Aubri quit being stubborn and come with me please, " I looked at him for some time and went towards the parking lot.

"Aubri, please listen to me, " he said while coming beside me.

"No, go away Jax, " I said.

"I'll go if you come with me to the infirmary."

"Can't you understand I don't want to go to the infirmary and don't want to talk to you. So, please leave me alone, for God sake, " I said to him in a breath and went away from there.

On reaching the parking lot, I find Zaden's car and sat in the backseat.

"Thank God you came, I thought someone has kidnapped you and was about to inform the police, " he said mockingly while scrolling through his phone.

"Zaden let's go."

"Oka... What happened to your cheek?"

"Nothing let's hob, " I said urgently. He got out of the car and opened the door of the backseat and then sat beside me.

"Aubri, the red mark didn't say 'nothing'. Yell me what happened?" He said and touched my cheek. I hissed in pain at the contact. He clenched his jaw.

"Aubri, I'm asking you politely for the last time. Tell me or else see what I do, " he warned. I told him everything how Arianna warned me to stay away from him and how I got the red cheek.

"Wait for me I'm coming, " he said after I finished telling him everything. He went towards the school building.

After 10 minutes or so he came looking very very angry. He sat in the driver seat and turned to me.

"From now on Arianna would not trouble you, " he said.

"What did you do?"

"Nothing except for giving her a piece of mind, " he said. "Anyway, let's go, it's already late." He started the engine and we went towards home.
