31 Chapter 31 - Infinite Gauntlets

By the time the sun was setting, Jason got tired of dealing with the orcs. He was killing a bunch of them, but not fast enough for their numbers to truly decrease.

"I guess I will wait until I master the hammer… depending on the weapon that I will get, I will make my choice," Jason thought.

(You Mastered the Infinite Hammer. Power + 03. You can now use the Iron Storm with any weapon as long as it is a variation of the Infinite Hammer)

(You can now access the Infinite Gauntlets)

Infinite Gauntlets (Legendary)

A weapon that can evolve the more you use it in combat.

Skill: Tiger Stance. While fighting against the same enemy, your gauntlets make them suffer internal damage over time. Each hit will increase the damage by five points, and that will last for five seconds as well.)

Mastery: 0/350 TP

Reward upon mastery: Constitution + 03

At the end of each fist, the gauntlets showed a series of small, sharp points resembling menacing fangs. These points served multiple purposes. Firstly, they enhance the gauntlets' offensive capabilities by concentrating the wearer's force into concentrated piercing strikes. The sharp points act as extensions of the wearer's own hands, turning punches into potentially devastating attacks.

Jason was surprised… he didn't expect to see the infinite weapons turning into something like that. Splitting into two was something that he never expected. The designs of the gauntlets were also pretty cool, and their ability was useful since it didn't consume mana or stamina. Basically, each hit would cause twenty-five points of damage no matter what…

"I only had fist fights when I was a kid, but… this will do," Jason thought and then tried to recall the basics of boxing. He tried some martial arts once, but the instructors that he got would always knock him down out of jealousy because of his girlfriend.

"The basics of boxing are the stance, guard, footwork, and punches," Jason thought. "I know the basics, and I watched over two hundred episodes of boxing anime, so I should be able to fight for the world title. Piece of cake."

Putting Jason's jokes aside, he checked his knowledge. For stance, a boxer adopts a specific stance that allows for balance, mobility, and defensive capabilities. The most common stance is the orthodox stance, where the left foot is forward for a right-handed boxer.

The guard is the defensive position where a boxer keeps their hands up to protect their face and body. The lead hand is held in front of the face, and the rear hand is held slightly lower to guard the body.

Proper footwork was essential for maintaining balance, generating power, and moving around the ring effectively. Boxers use various footwork techniques, such as stepping, sliding, pivoting, and circling, to control distance and create angles.

Boxing has four basic punches: Jab, cross, Hook, and Uppercut. They were relatively easy to use, but hard to master since they needed to be used well and at some moments. Jason tried to practice them; he wished that he could master counters since they were cool, but one needed too much experience and relative talent to pull it off.

"Jabs will be easier to use, and against the big swings of those guys, they will be more effective since the damage will slow down the enemies and decrease their power and speed… Still, against large numbers, I need to get rid of them as fast as possible," Jason thought.

At night, the orcs didn't leave their base, so getting some training against them wasn't possible. Jason wanted to test some tactics, but it looked like he wouldn't have the chance to do that. Instead of it, Jason run around testing the new strength of his body. First of all, he tried to check how much he could reach with a single jump, and he was surprised to see that he could easily reach ten meters in height.

Jason also could run better than before. He could reach fifty kilometers per hour with his body coordination. Still, when he tried to jump horizontally, he could cross longer distances faster… the longest jump reached thirty meters of distance… with a single push of his leg.

"It seems that I can do this thanks to my current dexterity," Jason thought while leaping around with a single leg and alternating between them. "Crossing thirty meters per second is way above the current world record."

Running at crazy speed seemed cooler, but Jason was fine with that since he could match the speed of the orcs. Moreover, with the effect of Speed Boost (E), he would be able to be even faster.

"... Anyway, focus on the goal… I also need to let them hit me a few times," Jason thought. "Even if I am awakening masochism, it is fine since this is for science. I also can't forget to use Speed Boost whenever possible."

In the end, Jason approached the enemy's camp through the darkness of the night, and thanks to their preparations, they were able to see him even when he was one hundred meters away. Word began to spread quickly among the orcs that someone or something was approaching their camp, and eventually, they confirmed that a single human had arrived… Jason approached and stopped when he was fifty meters beyond their walls and then began to fire Mana Arrows at them.
