Kollin's frustration was obvious. He wasn't a close-combat expert, but he definitely wasn't the sort of man that anyone could toy with, not at level 150. In the fact of their elusive but restrictive attack, he seemed all but powerless.

As confused as Kollin was, Vol felt much the same. He'd given the order, demanding that they kill the man, but he hadn't expected for them to do it with such ease. They were different men to the ones that he'd trained with. He could feel his Command loosely empowering them, but he was quite sure it wasn't strong enough to bring out the changes that he was seeing. They were fighting more like level 100s than level 70s or 60s.

The Chief Strategist swung at Northy's hands on his reins. Northy dodged back with the reflexes of a cat, not even willing to let the slightest cut land on him. It was almost as if he was afraid, but what empowered him was a more powerful emotion than fear. It was a will to live.
