29 Settling Down

"Are you anonymoushunter001?"

"No and how many times do I have to tell you I'm not."

Ayo said to her. He was trying his best not to get angry as something had already upset him before.

He couldn't tell exactly what was happening. But he was losing everything.

He had first thought that by going into gates, he would naturally regain his strength and skills. But it was all useless.

Right now, his stats were so low that he felt unfairly treated. Yet Phanes is saying nothing about it.

"I think you are lying, you definitely knew about the gate before it emerged, wasn't that why you saved me." Her annoying voice tugged his guts once again.

"Then you followed me into a gate and awakened. And thanks to your act of bravery you awakened."

"Yes, the government are looking to form a body that will manage all awakened humans. They also are looking for more people that will volunteer to clear the three disasters."

"The three disasters?"

"Wait, don't tell me you don't know! You've been so busy raiding so many gates that you don't know about the three disasters?!"

Funmi slammed Ayo's center table leaning towards him who was laying down on his sofa and watching the news to catch up on what has been happening.

"Whatever it is, I'm sure humanity has it under control."

'I'm so tired from raiding twenty gates in two days. I've also leveled up nice, my stats are already looking good. I'm not doing anything again.'

"Why are you so nonchalant about this? And I can't believe you live here."

Funmi stated, staring around in horror of how delivery food packages scattered around Ayo's table.

"The past two days have been hectic, I've not had the time to arrange."

"But you sure have had the time to eat a lot."

Her brows twitched as she tried to endure Ayo's dirty and lazy nature.

"It's fine, you can just leave if you don't like it."

He replied, looking at the TV.

"I don't even know why you are here in the first place..." He muttered the second statement.

"I heard you."

She glared at him but he didn't even glance at her side, his eyes were fixated on the TV channel in front of him.

"Ayo!!"

The door slammed open with his aunt running inside.

"Uh?! Aunty?"

He paused with his hand in his buttocks aiming to scratch a certain place quickly before Funmi's eyes reach him. But his aunt's sudden and uncalled entrance laid down a lot of misunderstanding.

"Eh? Ayo... you have a girl over."

"Is that your aunty?"

Funmi whispered over to him but he didn't respond and just slowly removed his hand.

"I see, I was worried for nothing, while the world was facing crisis you seem to be enjoying yourself."

She said with a grin that unsettled Ayo.

"No, this is not what you think it is."

"Huh? What is going on?" Dara's figure trudged to the front of the door. Immediately the same grin also appeared on her face.

'I can't believe this bastard.'

"Ah shit."

"It's fine. Its fine, we all are one big family, I'm not against you having a girlfriend. Although I must scold you, you are quite insensitive of time..."

"Girlfriend? No way, I think you are misunderstanding something ma'am."

"Uh?"

A puzzled expression sank into her face.

"Ayo saved me when one of those gates was at our school? And I awakened along with him we were able to clear the gate of the twin tailed wolf."

She described with a vibrant expression on her face.

"Oh, so Ayo you are awakened too?"

"It seems so." He replied with a disinterested voice.

"Well, your cousin and I awakened too."

There was a gate in our place to days ago. In the very front of our house. It sucked us right into it along with several other neighbors. We were able to deal with the green monsters, the message that appears in front of your eyes called it goblin."

"Goblins huh?"

Ayo muttered with the same uninterested voice and expression.

"You sound like you have encountered them?"

Dara glared at him.

"He might have considered how he was been raiding–

Pow

He kicked her mouth before she could finish.

"So you guys are here because your house probably got destroyed."

"That is there but I was worried about you all the time that I was in the gate."

"You were in there for two days?"

Funmi asked abruptly as she recovered from the kick not minding that she was kicked.

She had after all had a first hand experience of what he was capable of in the twin-tailed wolf gate, that would explain why she suddenly became clingy.

The scene between the two was odd to watch from Dara and her mother's vantage point.

"A lot has happened in just two days. The world has changed."

"And it will continue to change... which is why humanity must change alongside it."

'Although I am by far amazed that this world is able to adapt with things so fast, they just go ahead and name everything. The only person that bothers me is this Anonymoushunter001, whoever this guy is, I am sure he knew about the gates... seeing how I knew there's a probability that one of the gods might be behind this.'

[You are right]

[But I don't think the gods would be directly involved in this]

'A lot is unknown... and it bothers me'

"Anyways. Let's clean all this up."

"Mom, you can do that... I have to step out–

"You are not going anywhere Dara, if we will be staying with Ayo for a while, then we all must–

She paused as she glanced over to where Ayo was seated but he wasn't there anymore.

"I will help you ma'am!"

Funmi was already with a vacuum cleaner ready to begin the clenaing spree.
