1 Chapter 1: The Start

Wow that ended terribly I guess it could've been worse "*sigh* getting rejected and jumped on the same day...that's just crazy. I look around to see if anybody is home but I hear nothing it's just quiet 'is nobody home?'. Instead of checking if anybody was home I started heading towards my room.

*CLICK CLICK*

'Holy hell this door is so damn loud'. Sitting on my bed I pull my phone out of my pocket to check if anything is interesting on todays news "huh what the hell is this?" as im checking the news I see reporters talking about holes or something. 'What is that a corpse?....a corpse!?' I keep scrolling down but I see one thing that completely catches my eye.

[EMERGENCY MUST READ....THERE HAVE BEEN HOLES APPEARING OUT OF THE GROUND IN RANDOM PLACES AND PEOPLE HAVE SAID WALKING CORPSES HAVE BEEN COMING OUT OF THEM WE ADVISE YOU NOT TO GO OUTSIDE BY YOURSELF AND STAY IN GROUPS WHEN GOING OUT]

'Oh wow this seems believable but corpses coming out of the ground that's crazy'. As I continued to scroll all I see is people talking about holes and stuff coming out of the ground "man their crazy". But when I started to really immerse in what there were talking about I hear something from downstairs.

*THUD*

Yeah I know the the stories people were telling on the news were fake but "damn why am I so paranoid" I grabbed my pocket knife off my desk and slowly open my door. I tried to peek but I still couldn't see anything 'fuck it lets just go down there and see what it is'. Trying to calm myself down I take a deep breath and exhale slowly 'it's probably just Lisa' as I slowly walk down the stairs I see a shadow 'mom?'. I quickly go downstairs head to the living room but what I see wasn't something alive "what happened!?" it was my mom, dad and my sister but they didn't look as if they were alive. Their skin was falling off and it also looked like they just got home because they're grocery bags on the floor."ho- how did this happen I thought it was fake....but they said nothing about a spreading disease!?".

When I said that they all turned my way and their eyes glowed like they had been starving and finally found food then they suddenly charged at me "wait what are you guys doing!?". I hurriedly ran to the kitchen to get a little space from them "please stop!" the first one to reach me was my sister Lisa. She charged at me with her mouth wide open I subconsciously thrust my left hand to her stomach "huh?" I looked to see what I just did and the knife i had in my hand was now in my sister's gut. I looked her in the eye "I'm so sorry" as much as I don't want to hurt my family she's going through a lot of pain so I twist the knife that's in her gut then remove it.

But then I remembered 'mom and dad' I gently lay my now deceased sister on the ground and look up to see my parents crawling their way to me. After I killed my sister tears have been coming out of my eyes non-stop and I feel like throwing up but I have to end it so they can stop suffering.

(One Month Later)

For the past month all I have been doing is looking at the news and sleeping it's confirmed that zombie like things are coming out of the holes in the ground they also said bullets don't effect HZ's (hole zombies) and when you get to close to the holes you get effected and turn into one of them. And people have been saying after they killed one that came out of a hole a game like screen popped up in their face. They say they get to see their stats or something like that. I planned to go see if it's true by going out in killing one myself but im not going to risk it. But about my family I buried them in the backyard and I haven't said a word since that day. I walked downstairs into my kitchen to see how much food I had left 'Its only enough to last a couple of weeks...I know eventually I will have to go out there and scavenge.

(another month later)

It's been too long since I've been outside...well two months to be exact. 'But for the second month I didn't just sit there on my ass all day and night I did push ups until I couldn't no more I did sit ups unti-...basically I worked my ass off this whole month'. And my my hair grew to shoulder length and my skin became pale because I spent my time in the dark 24/7 and barely ate any food I overestimated how long the food was going to last. Fuck I hoped this day wouldn't come but it was inevitable but I prepared myself I have three kitchen knives hooked on my waste with a belt with all black clothes and a black hoodie covering the knives just in case even humans try to attack.
