16 Chapter 3 - Breaking the Limit (6)

That book was the magic book that held Zenovis' special magic circuits. I walked over to the skeleton and glanced at the magic book.

For several seconds, I looked at the magic book and the skeleton in turns. Then, without warning, I put the two into the Item Box.

"I'm done here. Time to go home, then I will bury the skeleton, and after that, I will return to Earth. I can hunt monsters for household appliances another time," I murmured before exiting the cave.

After arriving at the House, I immediately buried Zenovis' skeleton in the backyard.

I also put up a tombstone that reads: "Here lies the man known by the world as the Sage, a mysterious, powerful, and legendary figure, the owner of this House and the legacy that I, Yuuya Tenjou, humbly inherited."

"Short and simple is the best," I said to myself with satisfaction as I examined the tombstone.

By the time I finished with the Zenovis' grave, it was time for lunch. I took off my Bloody Ogre Armor Set and put them in the Item Box, after which I picked up vegetables from the garden before returning to Earth.

Once I came to Earth, I immediately started cooking venison and vegetables for my lunch.

Once I finished lunch, I decided to laze around in the living room and surf the internet with my smartphone. I wanted to find out the quality of anime, manga, and light novels in this version of Earth.

After surfing on the internet for a while, I found that some famous series from my past life also exist in this world, but that those works have different titles and characters with different names. Well, the storyline is more or less the same anyway.

And so, I spent my time idly while enjoying some hidden treasures among the garbage I could find on the internet.

Let's change the focus of this story to someone other than our protagonist. And the target of our current focus is one of the female leads, Kaori Honjou.

Kaori was called by her father to his office in their home to discuss their finding about her savior. An extraordinary young man named Yuuya Tenjou left a lasting impression in her mind.

Several days have passed since the day Yuuya helped Kaori. For some reason, Kaori couldn't erase Yuuya's appearance from her mind.

The more she thought about her handsome and dashing savior, she felt weird. The unknown feelings she felt whenever she thought of Yuuya confused her, but she didn't know what it was.

But, it wasn't the right time to discuss Kaori's feelings. This was about Tsukasa's summon that Kaori received.

"Daughter, before I share what our connections have gathered about Tenjou Yuuya-kun. I have one question for you," Tsukasa said to his daughter after she entered the office.

"What is it?"

Asking that, Kaori looked at her father who sat on the chair across the table in confusion.

Tsukasa put a photo on the table. Kaori glanced at the photo and saw a picture of her savior yawning outside of his house, and at that moment, she felt her heart beat faster.

'Wow! Yuuya-san looks adorable in that photo! Will Otou-san mind if I take it with me?'

That thought crossed Kaori's mind, but before she could realize the inappropriate thought she was having, her father's voice snapped her out of her thoughts.

"Is this what Tenjou Yuuya-kun looks like?"

"Yes. That is him, Otou-san."

Kaori answered her father's question.

"I see…" Tsukasa sighed deeply, seemingly upset about something.

"What's the matter, Otou-san?" Kaori asked her father dubiously.

"I want you to prepare yourself before you start reading the information about him I gathered," Tsukasa told Kaori after putting a file on the table.

Kaori couldn't help but feel anxious after hearing her father's ominous words. "What do you mean, Otou-san?" She asked her father.

"You will understand if you read that report," Tsukasa answered as he leaned his back on the backrest.

Kaori looked at her father with an uncertain look. Still, she took the file, opened it, and began reading the content. What she found upset her so much.

To put it bluntly, her savior's life was miserable. He suffered so much since he was so young.

He was neglected by his prejudiced parents because he was ugly, and he was mistreated by everyone at his age, even his younger twin siblings.

On top of that, the adults around him ignored his sufferings because of his ugly appearance, and the teachers never stopped the mistreatment and even blamed the boy for what was not his fault.

There was even a report of how the boy was seen washing his clothes using a park drinking fountain when he was so young.

Kaori gasped and covered her mouth in disbelief with one hand as she continued reading the report. For a sheltered Ojou-sama with a kind heart like her, it was too much!

She could not believe that someone could live so miserable despite having a family that could support him.

Fortunately, there were a small number of people who treated him well, the chief among them being his grandfather, even though his grandfather had died.

However, there was something that confused Kaori. Yuuya's recent appearance was different from his old ugly appearance…

'It's as if he's transformed from an ugly duckling to a gorgeous swan overnight,' was how Kaori judged after comparing Yuuya's old and new looks.

Kaori finally finished reading the report and placed it on the table. Her mind was chaotic, filled with all kinds of things.

However, the main thing in her mind was the desire to make Yuuya happy after living such a miserable life.

She was also very angry. She was angry at those people who mistreated Yuuya cruelly.

"What do you think?" Tsukasa asked, taking Kaori's attention from her festering anger.

"It is unbelievable," said Kaori. "How come they mistreated someone badly just because he was different?"

"That's how humans are, my daughter. You don't have to think too much about it. Just stay as you are. You've grown up into an amazing girl I'm proud of anyway."

"I see…" Kaori nodded at her father with a sweet smile, "I understand, and thank you for your praise, Otou-san!"

"Anyway, after reading that report, what do you think?" Tsukasa changed the topic.

Kaori put on a pensive face for a few moments. Then, she said: "Can we do something to help him?"

"Well, I thought the same thing and decided to give him a full scholarship to our school. I think that is good for his future. "Teaching someone how to fish is better than giving them fish," as the saying goes. There is more than a week until the new school academic year starts, and he has a suitable disposition to join our school. What do you think of this, my daughter?"

After listening to her father's proposal, Kaori couldn't help but imagine going to school and spending time together with Yuuya. When she imagined that, she felt elated and blushed cutely.

She did not know why she felt like that. She mistook it as her elation for attending school together with her savior, and hopefully, her new real friend.

Tsukasa did not miss his daughter's reaction. It was then that he realized that his daughter had her first crush, but he kept it to himself.

Even though he realized his daughter's feelings for her savior, he wouldn't tell her because she needed to understand it herself for her development as a person. In the end, Tsukasa only smiled fondly at her daughter.

'Youth, huh? How precious…'

Tsukasa thought that as he looked at his blushing and daydreaming daughter. He also recalled his youth when he was dating Kaori's mother, and how he missed his wife because she was overseas with their youngest daughter, who was also Kaori's little sister.

When the father and daughter pair were busy with their respective thoughts, Yuuya, who was the topic of their previous discussion, was living his life as usual, meaning that he spent his time going back and forth between Earth and Argena.
