24 Someday he would return

"Now I regret being your friend" Ignoring his overbearing gaze, Drake walked and sat on the couch with his one leg crossed over the other while his arms spread out on the edge of the soft headrest while his head slowly leaned back.

"I can't believe for the first time in my life I failed to finish a task" Heaving out a sigh, Drake pulled his head up and looked at Lucian who smirked at his remark.

"At least you now know that you have to work hard to make her spill the names" Lucian's remark made him twitch his lips in annoyance.

Drake informed Lucian about Julianna declining his negotiation and instead choose to accept the punishment. Just like him even Lucian wondered why wasn't she telling the name of the students who bullied her but then he remembered Ariana who also kept declining the same.

The moment her thoughts struck his mind Lucian's face turned gloomy. Recalling the smile she flashed at that boy named Griffin boiled his blood.

"Woah... why do I suddenly feel cold" Drake purposely teased Lucian when he noticed the gloominess surrounding his aura. He wondered what was going on in his mind that it didn't take him long to go from teasing to aloof face.

Lucian glared at Drake before he got up from his seat and turned to leave but before he could take another step ahead Drake stopped him.

"Wait! What's that on your t-shirt" Drake noticed a spot on his cloth and quickly marched toward Lucian and faced him.

It was then he realized it wasn't just a spot but was rather a blood spot. Gaping at Lucian in shock Drake asked," You are bleeding"

Lucian pursed his lips into a thin line as he failed to inform Drake about the attack he faced last night when a hunter decided to intrude on the property.

Drake cocked his brow when he noticed the hesitation on Lucian's face and before he could question the door of his cabin flung open with Klaus entering with a potion in his hand.

Drake frowned when he noticed the medicine and then looked back at Lucian in shock. "Is it silver blade?" he asked quickly composing his appearance and watched him bob his head.

"I think I came at the wrong time" Klaus who sensed the tension between the two felt like he ruined something.

Guilt crept into Drake's heart and he looked away avoiding meeting Lucian's gentle eyes. He knew everything that happened to him was his fault.

"I am sorry, my one reckless move landed our entire pack into trouble" Drake apologized with looking back. The shine in his eyes dimmed when he recalled the day he went berserk killing everyone who came in front of him.

"You know I never blamed you" came Lucian's reply and it made him finally turn to face him. The remorse in his eyes made Lucian feel bad for him and he quickly put on a smile.

"But see I am alive and nothing happened to me." giving Klaus a look Lucian walked back and sat on the couch as he removed his t-shirt and the wound came into their view.

Drake's eyes darkened when he looked at the cut. It went from his belly button to the side of his waist. Luckily it wasn't as deep as he thought it to be and that made him calm a little.

Taking the potion from Klaus, Drake sat next to Lucian and started to apply it to his wound, and in no time, the blood stopped and the mark disappeared without leaving any trace.

"How didn't you find out about the attack?" Turning his eyes from Lucian, Drake then glared at Klaus.

Klaus was the informer of the pack and hurt Drake to know even though he didn't tell him about this attack.

Klaus gasped when he noticed his gawk-like eyes shoot daggers at him and he quickly came to his defense. "I learned it from Caspian who asked me to give this potion to Alpha"

"That old man, why can't he be vocal with us? Why does he have to be this secretive?" Drake sneered and passed the remaining potion back to Klaus.

"We can't blame him, his practice made him secretive" Klaus state

Once Lucian got dressed back the trio sat on their respective seats wondering how much knowledge the hunters had regarding the werewolf that they even went on discovering their weakness.

"We need to be extra cautious with the people around us. It was just one hunter who track us down what if there are more who are planning on eliminating our existence" Klaus said catching both Lucian's and Drake's attention.

Glancing at one another they both looked back at Klaus and bobbed their head in agreement.

Lucian discussed a few things with Klaus before he left leaving the two alone. Silence once again engulf the room as both Lucian and Drake were busy thinking about their respective thoughts.

Drake wanted to find a way to make Julianna drop her adamant and tell him the truth while Lucian he was busy thinking of what he heard after he walked out of the classroom.

'Did she agree on hanging out with that Griffin boy' Lucian who was able to listen to her answer wondered what they talked about further.

He was annoyed by Griffin's presence around Ariana and now he wanted to know what she replied.

Slamming his palm on the couch, Lucian stood up and turned to leave. "Where are you going now?" Drake snapped out of his thoughts when he watched Lucian leave.

He was now worried about his safety. The trouble he brought for his alpha already filled him with remorse and now he didn't want him to face any problems ahead.

"Why, are you worried about me" Lucian was too quick to read his tone asked with amusement and it didn't take him time to understand what was going on in his beta's mind.

Though Drake had freed himself from being his beta, Lucian never accepted it. For him, he only had one beta and no one could take his place and that was Drake and he know someday, he would return to his side.

Drake's face crumpled when he noticed Lucian tease him and he quickly snapped," In your dreams" smiling wholeheartedly at his reaction, Lucian turned and walked out of the cabin.
