10 I won't change my decision

Sensing the pissed look on his face Klaus dropped his playfulness and answered," Caspian asked me to monitor the new girl"

"Why does that old man seem so interested in her? Is it because his favorite Lucian asked him for a favor?" Drake chuckled and turned around towards the class and watched the students quickly look away.

"By the way, why don't I see him anywhere? Doesn't he have any class for today" Drake asked looking at the distant cabin.

"No, he doesn't have one" answered Klaus as he looked away from the classroom and joined Drake as they started to walk away ignoring his student's sneaky eyes.

"I thought Lucian was engaged to Veronica then how come he is inclined to this girl? Don't tell me he is serious about going against his father's will" The duo stopped in front of the staff room with Klaus facing Drake when he asked.

"It's not as simple as it seems Drake. You won't know about the bond until you too find the one for yourself" Klaus stated only to watch Drake roll his eyes.

"Whatever" came Drake's plain reply.

Klaus could only shake his head knowing how ignorant Drake had been about this sacred bond. He didn't believe in all this but who knows just like Lucian one day he comes to find his other half and his perception towards mate bond changes.

Lucian's car stopped in front of the Donovan dynasty after he received a call from his father who summoned him urgently.

Everyone bowed down when they saw their alpha making his way toward the main door. It had been so long since their Alpha step his foot inside the mansion and everyone was delighted with his sudden appearance.

Responding to them with a nod Lucian made his way into the house.

Entering, Lucian was welcomed by a pair of furious eyes and he sensed the trouble. His father and the former Alpha of Willow Forest Pack, Apollo Donovan sneered the second he watched his son make his way toward them.

Keeping the same icy look Lucian then turned his eyes from his father towards the other two people who had also shown their presence along with him. Veronica and Jerel Sterling, her father, and the former general.

The moment his eyes met Veronica's mocking one, Lucian felt disgusted. He wasn't like that before but when one day she tried to force herself on him after their engagement, Lucian started to hate her.

He was always disgusted by her touch, so after that day, he decided to maintain his distance from her.

Stopping in front of his father, Lucian greeted him before he took his seat on the couch opposite them.

The moment Lucian made himself comfortable in his seat, he heard Apollo say," Is this true that you've brought that girl into your house?"

Lucian cocked his brow and turned his attention to Veronica who quickly averted his piercing gaze. It wasn't a surprise for Apollo getting to know everything as he had already expected Veronica to tell him everything about Ariana.

"Yes. Is there any problem with that? Didn't I already inform you once I find her there is no way I will leave her alone" Lucian wasn't intimidated by Apollo's serious words as he inherited most of his father's qualities.

Apollo's lips twitch at Lucian's boldness. ' Was there any way he could make his son obey him'

Jerel who was listening to Lucian snapped," How can you bring that filthy human into your house when you are still engaged with my daughter" His outburst caught everyone's attention, including Veronica who looked at her father in disbelief.

"Dad, please..." she quickly tried to calm him but it was all her plan.

Veronica had always presented herself as a kind and calculative woman who only wanted peace. Even now she was pulling an act of being a considerate daughter in front of everyone.

Jerel who was also involved with her tried to show his disappointment. He knew he had no right to raise his voice at their Alpha, but he knew with Apollo by his side to defend them, he could openly show his displeasure.

Veronica had always liked Lucian whereas Jerel only wanted to maintain his position in the welfare of the clan, so when Apollo made Lucian the new Alpha, he too introduced his daughter Veronica as the new general.

Her skillful ways of tackling every fight impressed Apollo and when Jerel proposed the alliance, he immediately agreed to it. But who would've thought, Lucian who had always obeyed his father would go against his words just a few days after the engagement ceremony.

"How dare you call her fifthly" Both Jerel and Veronica flinched at the sound of Lucian's cold voice and the second they turn to meet his sharp glare, their blood ran dry.

His emotionless blue eyes warned them sending chills down their spine.

Jerel who had been acting all brave lost his voice when Lucian suddenly got up from his seat.

Veronica who had witnessed his rage last night flinch gripping Jerel's hand in fear.

They thought within Apollo's presence, Lucian would never cross his boundaries but it was all their imagination. Everything changed in the blink of an eye when Lucian marched towards Jerel and lifted him by his collar, throwing him in the air as his body crashed on the wall before falling to the ground.

Both Veronica and Apollo were shocked by Lucian's outburst. No one thought, Lucian would lose his temper and harm Jerel one of their loyal subordinates.

"Dad" Rushing towards Jerel, Veronica helped her father stand on his feet.

Jerel was an old werewolf and his strength wasn't anything in comparison to Lucian. The moment he collided with the wall, he saw his entire world coming to an end.

Standing on his feet Jerel coughed out blood. His eyes widen at the outcome of Lucian's anger and he shivered.

Veronica who noticed her father trembling under Lucian's fierce gaze, couldn't contain her anger and roared. "Lucian... how can you do this. My dad has served the clan all his life without caring about himself. This is how you pay his loyalty back"

She purposely stretched the last words and turned to look at Apollo. She wanted to make him feel guilty for his son's actions and take a stand for them.

She could only rely on Apollo if they had to spare their life from Lucian's animosity.

Lucian on the other hand balled his fist tightly and was about to dash toward them but was stopped by Apollo's stern voice. His anger had reached its limit when Jerel bad-mouthed his mate.

He had been respecting this father-and-daughter duo because of his father, but not anymore.

"That's enough!" Lucian's steps halted midway as his expression turned grim before he shot a glare at his father.

His chest heaved up and down as he tried to calm himself. "ARGH!.." Lucian dropped his hand in defeat when Apollo gave him a stern look.

Gulping down the lump in his throat Lucian turned away facing his back on them. His entire body was trembling with rage as he kept gnashing his teeth in fury trying to calm his nerves.

Veronica smirked at the sight and looked at Jerel who too felt relief. His life was spared all thanks to his daughter's acting skills.

Apollo glanced at Lucian as he turned his eye on the father and daughter duo. He was feeling bad for whatever happened to them and opened his mouth to apologize when suddenly Jerel mumbled.

"I shouldn't have proposed the alliance if this was going to happen with my daughter in the future" Jerel started playing his cards. He knew Apollo was an emotional fool whom he had been good at manipulating all this time.

"I always thought for the betterment of the clan but I was wrong and ended up ruining my daughter's life" he further commented making Apollo feel more guilty.

Apollo Donovan was a man who never back on his words. He had assured Jerel that Veronica would become the next Luna but Lucian's sudden retreat from the alliance, indirectly led to breaking his promise.

"Then why don't you explain your daughter the same?" Lucian spoke as he turned back his attention towards them.

His eyes were still icy cold as he further continued," I had made myself clear then why can't your daughter respect my decision" Lucian was back to his normal self.

Jerel's lips twitched as he tried to maintain his act. Lucian wasn't going to agree with them and it was crystal clear with his words.

Veronica clutched her palm as she eyed Lucian blankly. She was tired of his rejection and couldn't handle it anymore.

"You think anyone will want me after we broke off the engagement?" Veronica spat out of nowhere catching everyone's attention on her.

Lucian's gloomy face turned grimmer as he watched her smirk at him. She was again playing her cards.

Lucian had long learned about Veronica's intention of marrying him but it was his father's blind trust in Jerel that ruined everything.

"Then let it be because I won't change my decision and that's final!.." Lucian declared and turned around as he walked out of the house leaving everyone speechless.
