68 Biting the tongue

Ariana once again opened the door and was surprised to see Fret standing in front of her.

"Sorry for the inconvenience Miss Ariana. There will be a little delay for the dinner" Fret said anxiously as he watched Ariana with a little wide eyes.

"But the maid said the dinner was ready and I asked her to get the food to my room," Ariana asked confusingly. 

Fret lips twitched as he tried to fight the nervousness he was feeling while facing Ariana. He could see the suspicion surging up in her eyes as she keenly watched him.

"It was the wrong message she conveyed Miss Ariana, but rest assured the food will be served to you soon" Fret was trying to sound genuine as he didn't want Ariana to ponder on his words too much.

Ariana watched Fret for a few more seconds finding his words a little hard to digest when suddenly she heard the sound of Lucian's car and all her thought got drifted to his arrival.
