Lisa shirked, closing her eyes. Silence swept in the room for a while. She could only hear her rapidly beating heartbeat. Slowly she opened her eyes and looked up at Carl Black who was shielding her with his body. She asked in a shaky voice “Are you alright?”

He answered, “Yes, my love.”

Just then, they heard a thud sound. They both turned to look only to see Daniel Brooke lying on the floor. Blood was dripping down from his belly. He took the bullet that was for Lisa. Albert was lying behind him, dead. Derek shot two bullets directly on his head.

“Daniel…” Lisa shouted and rushed to him. She sat down on the floor beside him and kept his head on her lap. “Why did you do that?”

Tears streamed down uncontrollably. Carl Black came there and squatted beside him. Daniel Brooke stretched his bloody hand and wiped her tears. He tried to smile a little and said, “For you, I can do anything, sweetheart.”
