I don't blame her

ALEXA'S POV. .

" Can we play the football now , l have eaten all the horrible vegetables mummy " , Just as we were done with the dinner , Ivan quickly ran to me and whined . ". No l told you , this is the reason why we shouldn't have brought them " , Before I could respond to him , out of the blue Mark intervened in a harsh voice .

". But dad " , Ivan muttered in a baby like tone . " No , this isn't a time to play Ivan , when you are the girls are done eating go and sit down on the couch and don't touch anything " , He still responded harshly to him . At his words l felt myself fuming. This is the reason why the kids were now hating him . He had no fatherly tone in his mouth .

It was even ridiculous , he was expecting the kids to sit down . At their age they can't just sit down and do nothing especially when they have just eaten . " Mark, kids can't just sit down and yet they have just eaten ", He shifted his hostile glare from the kids to me as soon as l murmured that.

" Don't be stupid too , whom do you expect to play with such kids " , He roared out and at that l felt hot tears burn in my eyes . ' he just said that my kids were ugly '. . " Have you heard me , tell the kids to go and sit down " , When l failed to reply to him , he added ." With due respect Mr Mark , Alexa already told him that he could play and I offered to play football with him " , Just before I could nod my head to Mark , out of the blue , Adrian cut in and at that instant l felt my all body freeze up . This is what I didn't want , his presence was now going to create me trouble .

"Ahh! Mr Adrian you here " , Mark said in a surprised voice . He was seriously a hypocrite , per now he had a huge smile and yet he was from yelling at the kids . " Yes , I promised your little man that l will play with him and Alexa already accepted " , He uttered out. When I heard Adrian say that , l finally looked at Mark but I only saw that he was already looking at me . In fact he was glaring at me with anger . Of course I knew it , he was going to ask me how the hell l came to know their new boss .

He glared at me with out saying any word and that made my stomach to go crazy with butterflies . It was like there was no other one in the room but us . " No Alexa is going to take them at home , it's past their bedtime anyway , aren't you tired too Alexa ? " , He asked and l opened and closed up my mouth in disbelief. He was seriously not going to allow the kids play .

" No please Daddy , I will be good , l promise I'm sorry about the paint , l didn't mean to spill it all over my face and dress " , Chrissy spoke while clinging to Eva's hand . At her words , l turned and looked at Adrian . He all had his gaze at me . I knew it , he could see how helpless we we're all and was pitying me .

" No we staying Mark , the kids are having fun , go and do whatever you supposed to do as we wait for you " , I lastly responded boldly but I had all my gaze at Adrian . I just wanted Adrian to see that l wasn't helpless but still I inwardly knew it that l will cry at night . " Fine " , Mark finally accepted before he marched away from us . At that , Ivan instantly ran to Ivan's side with a smile on his face . The girls were also happy but Jessica was the happiest . I think she liked the way l boldly responded to Mark .

After the girls walking away with Eva , l turned and looked at Mark who was far away from me . He was whispering something in Harriet's ear but she didn't look happy with whatever he was saying to her . She instead glared at me before she walked away from Mark.

ADRIAN'S POV .

I can't take off my eyes from Alexa . She looks even more beautiful than the last time l saw her . After seeing her today , l realized why she told me to make her feel like a woman . For months l spent my time looking for her but after seeing her ,l realized it that getting her again in my bed wasn't going to be something easy for me .

" That's the woman you slept with , isn't it " , Just as I was lost in my thoughts , Justin broke out distracting the train of my thoughts ." Is there any proof that shows ? " , I asked before placing the glass of wine on the counter . " Yes you haven't taken off your eyes from her ever since she walked in the room " , He replied with a mischievous smirk on his face . With that smirk , l wasn't surprised to see it . Justin evidently showed it that he didn't like Mark and perhaps he was now plotting some evil ideas .

" Yes , and now I don't blame her for what she did , did you hear the way he was speaking to her " , l murmured before taking a sip of the wine .
