1 WEAR IT ON YOUR WEDDING DAY...

The house of Mendoza had been in a chaotic mode.

It was the birthday of the twins and also the fourth anniversary of Mr and Mrs. Mendoza.

The day could not get any more special than that.

Mrs. Mendoza had been occupied with the preparations since the morning. Her husband left at that very moment for an important broad meeting, promising her that he would be back soon but it had already been more than two hours.

And with the twins running around

the house, she already felt exhausted.

"Fanny and Melanie! Could you just stop running around?"

The twins ran past their mother without giving any head to her. The nanny looked at Mrs. Mendoza with an apologetic face, for not being able to control them.

"Sara is that my wedding gown?"

Mrs. Mendoza could not believe her eyes when she saw one of the twins holding the simple white pleated dress and running across the living room.

"Ma'am, I did not know..."

The gown was too ordinary and plain to pass out for a wedding dress and no wonder why Sara could not pinpoint it out.

Mrs. Mendoza had always been right with the little girls rummaging through her closet and playing with her dresses.

The girls liked to wear their mother's clothes and mimic her, pretending to be the grown-ups and Mr. and Mrs. Mendoza would have the time of their day laughing out about it.

But the way Mrs. Mendoza freaked out watching the girls run around with that simple white gown, even Sara could tell that it was invaluable to her.

"Fanny wait!!! Do not go out!!

Sara get them!"

She yelled as soon as she saw the girls were making their way out of the house. She did not want the dress to get dirty.

The nanny who had paused for a brief moment, got into action the moment Mrs. Mendoza stood up and followed after her.

It was Tiffany, the older one running away holding the white gown, and behind her was Melanie, the younger one trying to snatch the dress out of her sister's hold.

The entire staff decorating the living room for the event in the evening came to a halt as they stopped by to watch the scene of two adults running after the twins.

Before they could step out, Tiffany collided with a figure stopping her and all the others came to a pause.

Mrs. Mendoza took a breather as it was her husband at the entrance. Sara closed her eyes in relief too.

"Gimme this!"

"No! This is mine."

Tiffany did not let go of the dress as Melanie tried to snatch it out of her hold.

It was nothing new for Mr. Mendoza to be welcomed in his house that way ever since the twins were born. He smiled at his wife, looking at her.

"What is it?"

He asked when she saw her distressed face.

"That is my wedding gown, George."

She could not fathom the fact that her husband did not recognize it.

"Take it off of them."

She ordered her husband and before the twins could tell, their father snatched it away from their holds.

Both looked up at the father and Tiffany was about to break down. She was the most stubborn one.

"Give it back, daddy!"

"It's your mother's wedding gown, Tiffy."

He tried to reason with his three-year-old daughter. Melanie stepped closer to her mother and hugged her legs.

"I need it, Daddy!"

"But why?"

Tiffy stomped her feet on the ground as she looked up at her father. He never denied her anything. And that was going to be difficult right then as everyone could see in that moment.

"Tiffy...I will get you another... the same ok?"

George said, trying to console his daughter, glancing at his wife, who could see that she had lent her husband a difficult position.

Sara picked up Melanie and walked inside. She was the most obedient one than Tiffany.

"I only need this Daddy!"

"Fanny, this dress is Mommy's. And Mommy loves this dress."

Her mother let out, kneeling, and patting her back, trying to ease up the situation.

"But if you be a good girl...mommy will let you wear this on your wedding day...when you get married..."

Ana tried to bargain with her daughter. It got the little one into thinking about the ordeal.

And right then, the Herringtons show up with their two boys. The Mendoza's and they were friends.

"Did we get too early?"

Mrs. Herrington intervened, analyzing the situation standing by the entrance with her two boys.

Tiffany got distracted looking at Adam and Steven. Ana stood up taking away the dress from her husband's hand.

"Nope. Just in the right time."

She smiled. It played well with getting her little daughter's attention diverted. And all Tiffany wanted at that moment was to go out and play with the boys.

"Mama?"

"Yes, Fanny?"

Ana looked down at her.

"I wear this on my wedding day with Adam ok?"

The adults looked at each other's faces. Mrs. Herrington could not control her laughter. She was a jolly person and Ana could not help but nod her head in a yes, even though Mr. Mendoza was not happy about it.

Ana shared a look with her husband, knowing exactly why he was annoyed. But it was perfect to end the drama and that was it, Tiffy ran with Adam to play out.

"Go join them...do not be awkward."

Mrs. Herrington pushed her youngest, Steven to join them. He was the silent one.

The adults watched them run past them to the front yard as they walked inside.

"Twenty years and that day is so close isn't it?"

Fiona looked at George, putting the cup of tea down on the table. He parted his eyes from the newspaper to see her.

"What do you mean?"

"Dad!!! It is here!!"

Tiffany came running down from upstairs, her sister following behind screaming all the way.

Fiona knew what it was as she could not hold the smile. George was clueless.

"The dress...it is here!!

I can't believe it is finally mine."

Tiffany was overjoyed as the butler bought the box inside. They all gathered in the hall.

"Easy you restless girl."

Fiona chuckled as Tiffany started to unpack the box in a hurry as if she had no time in the world.

"It is mine now!!"

She declared excitedly pulling the white gown out, proudly, overjoyed. Her sister and Fiona were happy for her. Although delighted, George could not help but look past his daughter and to the huge wall portrait of his wife.

Two decades ago, that dress used to be his wife's...
