Ring

"I finally caught you." The attacker muttered with a sweet voice I am so familiar with. I hold up my breath. I opened my eyes to confirm my guess.

I knew it. it's him.

Dohyung is looking at me with an annoyed face. "That's dangerous! What if it's not me?"

My heart jumps to my throat. I tried my best to gulp it back down.

"I'm sorry, I-" Dohyung put his index finger on to my lips and it interrupted my words.

"It's ok. Earlier, I really need your help looking for my wedding ring. I lost it while I was drunk that time... And Yohan said you are the last person I am with."

"Huh?" I am dumbfounded. So is that WHY he is looking for me? I thought it was about his wife and me. I thought he knew it and wanted to talk about it.

"I guess you don't. But that's not important anymore. Why are you avoiding me? I am so sorry I can't remember what I did that time. Did I do something bad? Did I hurt you?"

Ah no nothing that bad happened. You just told me your jealousy... For your wife... Because of me. That's all, nothing serious, Right... Oh gosh well it's better than tarnishing your image since you are an actor!

And crap I can't say it! All I can do I stare at him.

I felt his hand tremble. "I actually did something... I'm sorry."

I snapped back to reality. He didn't do anything!

"Ah no, it's nothing serious. You just crawled on your way home. I just help you on your way." While scratching the back of my head.

He gave me a doubtful look and signed. "I hope thats all. Anyway, what are you doing here? I thought you are avoiding me."

"Hahaha, good question. That's also what I want to ask myself."

"Then since you are here, can you help me trace back the route where I crawled? I really can't remember anything."

I nodded to agree.

First, we looked inside their house. It feels more empty than before.

"Where's Ji-Ha and Jeremy." My curiosity strikes me.

"Oh yeah, Papa, I mean, Ji-Ha's dad died 2 weeks ago and they gave the mansion to us. This morning they are busy packing up. And now Ji-Ha just texted me they will stay there to rest. I also plan to stay there later."

"Mansion!?" I am shocked by this new information. Ji-Ha was actually rich. That's why she spends like that.

"Didn't she tell you both her parents are well-known doctors?"

"I know, but I didn't expect that rich."

"Hahaha well, they have a lot of stuff there. Like antiques, heirlooms, books, and such. Now that I think about it. It's really a big house I should help the maids from time to time."

"Hey, you already have a lot of projects on your plate."

"Hahaha my bad, my bad. Im just like doing chores. It's somewhat therapeutic."

I chuckled at his statement. "Hahaha, we are the opposite. I am so lazy doing chores. My room is always messy"

"You shouldn't let Ji-Ha see your room. She hates it. Hahaha. One time Jeremy left the living room in a mess that morning. She saw it and she took a sick leave and shut in our room for the whole day. She's so grumpy."

"Noted, she's lucky she has you."

"No, I am grateful to her. Because of her, I manage to get my dream as an actor and do my hobbies from time to time. She... also gave me the sweetest child."

I put back the remaining boxes I moved and rummage. I am disappointed cause I still can't find a ring. "Negative... How about you?"

"I can't find it here either. Let's go backtrack."

"Yeah let me lead the way."

After a short walk, we stopped by the park. I remember this is where we took a break. I didn't notice it was actually a bit closer to their house. I literally just dragged him around that time.

"Let's look for it right there." I pointed to the specific bench where we pounder. I hope it's still there though.

I immediately looked below the trash and dig through dirt and dust. At the backside, I saw a glimmer and reached for it. It's a silver ring with a small diamond in the middle. Inside the ring, there's writing 'Ji-ha Sung'

"Ah, I found it!"

He immediately runs beside me to take a look. He's too close!

"That's it! Thank you very much!" Without me knowing, he already holding my that holds ring with his 2 hands. His warm hands surround me, till it reaches my cheeks. He really looks happy.

I let go of the ring so he can take it. Then he grabbed my shoulders and pulled me closer for a tight hug.

It's so comforting... I hugged back.

"How can I repay you? I can treat you in some restaurant. Just... Don't avoid me anymore. Ok?"

"Hahaha yeah. Of course."

We took a seat at the bench we searched at.

"I can't believe I will be back here again..."

I turned my head to look at him. He's just looking afar. "Oh, do you have memories of this place?"

"This is where I ask her to marry me. And in this exact bench"

"What are the chances!" For him to go back here and find his ring.

"Hahaha, I actually can't believe she will accept it. She is a person who is too focused on her career. To the point, she doesn't want to have a family."

His face darkened. "... But I'm wrong..."

I am confused. And he finally looked at me. Then his bright self is back.

He stood up and stretched a bit. "Let me take you home. After pulling that stunt, I can't trust you anymore."

"Harsh, but thanks" I reached out for his hand but pulled back. I have to check myself if I am being too comfortable around him.

I am shocked that he grabbed my hand.

"Don't worry" then smiled at me. It sends a fluttering feeling in my chest. He shouldn't be this sweet, especially for me! After what I have done to him...

I'm finally home and say goodbye to Dohyung. My landlady is waiting for me Infront of my door.

"I have made a mistake. I'm so sorry"

"What's wrong?"

"Well, the new tenant wants your apartment and wanted you to move out immediately... IM SO SORRY"

"HUH!?"
