New Project

Dohyung's pov

"Good morning everyone. Today's meeting agenda will be an introduction, character distribution, and cold reading to help you prepare. By the way, I am Na-Woon Kwok your director. I know you met me at the audition but this is for formality. It's a pleasure to meet you all." Ms. Kwok, I have worked with her many time in some movies. And she's very passionate in her directing. And gotta admit I have a hard time when we first started but she was very patient with me. I am thankful to her for that.

"Hi, I think you have also seen me in the audition. I'm Ga-In Ah the writer and scriptwriter of this drama. It's nice to meet you all again. Please let's work hard to make this a success." I don't know much about her but some of my coworkers told me about her boy's love genre novels.

They finally distributed the script and started to scan it. Ms. Ah stood up.

"So for the summary, it started with Theo meeting Minjae at the airport. Minjae becomes Theo's guide around Korea and their relationship blooms... There were some spicy scenes I hope you are ready for it" she smirks when she said the last statement.

"Thank you for the summary, Ms. Ah. Now for the characters. This is the decision of both of us. So congratulations. First Theo will be played by Dohyung Kang."

I-I didn't expect I will get the leading role! My manager told me to try to audition for him at that time and just do my best. I mean I already have roles that require very spicy scenes but I am not sure if I can pull it off now. Especially since I haven't touched Ji-Ha for months now... I can't remember when the last time we have a sweet night was. I try to ask her if I got a chance...

"... Next for the role of Minjae, it's Ryon In-Su. Then for Minjae's best friend, it will be Yohan Park. Then for the manager...."

Oh, I thought Yohan will get another leading role, especially since he is so excited about this project. I looked where he was sitting. His head was lowered and just too focused on looking at the script.

Everything went fast and we started the cold reading. It runs smoothly at first. Since Ryon and I already worked together in some dramas and shows already.

But we got a hard time when we got to Yohan's part. Yohan keeps messing up his lines and misreading the script.

"Hey, Mr. Park, are you okay?" The director looked concerned at him because he is not himself today.

"I'm so sorry ma'am I don't feel good today... Sorry for the trouble."

"Ok well please take a rest. I'll let this off the hook for now. But I will be stricter when we started shooting."

"Yes ma'am"

"Ok, that's all for now. I hope you got a grasp of the script and start practicing. Let's do our best at the shooting." And everyone went on their own.

And I started to pick up my things but I am too concerned about my friend...

I know I promise my family to join them soon but... I really should check my friend.

"Hey, Dohyung. It's nice to work with you again." Ryon greeted me outside the room.

"Hey Ryon, me too. You did great there."

"Hahaha, I still need to learn how to be submissive and practice my bottom role. Anyway, what happened to Yohan? He's not himself today."

He was with us at the company anniversary since Eun invited him. But after drinking myself out I can't remember anything... Did I do something to him while I am dead drunk? I hope not!

"Did you see where he went?" I ask Ryon.

"You didn't notice him. He's just there still inside. I can't talk to him cause he's just staring into the void. I'm hoping ya snap the sense out of him."

"Oh ok," I scratched the back of my head and looked inside. Yohan is still sitting at the corner of the table looking far away. I looked back at Ryon, to invite him to join. "You want to join me?"

"Yeah, I'm worried."

We walked behind him and tapped his shoulder. No response. I sit beside him, looked close to his face, and shake him.

"Hey, Yohan you good?"

"Wah! Too close!" He almost falls from the chair. Then he coughs to find his composure.

"Ehem sorry for that do you need me for something?"

"We want to ask what happened to you. Do you have a problem or something? We can help." Ryon asked.

"Ah well..." He looks at us for too long. We just patiently wait for him to answer till I said. "Well if you don't want to say something we'll respect that."

Then he signed and looked down. It looks like he already gave up. "You are right I need help. One of the paparazzi discovered my apartment... And I have been bombed with unknown gifts and letters now..."

This is bad. He is a popular actor. And unfiltered gifts from management will cause trouble for him... Also, people that invade privacy or worse could hurt him.

"Ah, I see then we'll help you to a new flat then," I suggested.

Yohan's face lits up. "Really? Then let's go now I don't have work today."

"But I can't, I have to join my family this lunch..." I checked my watch for the time. It's already time for lunch. "Oh no! Gotta go. I am sorry Yohan. What if Ryon helps you for now? I'll help you tomorrow." I picked up my bag in a hurry.

"Oh ok... It's ok don't bother yourself, family first"

"Don't worry I'll protect him from any paparazzi and find a flat today! Enjoy your family bonding." Ryon added.

I wave at them to say goodbye and run for the train.

"Am I late?"

I saw Ji-Ha sitting on the bench. She just finished a phone call from someone. "You barely made it. But I know it's just your meeting took longer. By the way-.."

"Papa you made it!" Jeremy hugged my waist. Then I lifted him.

"Did you have fun today?"

"Yup I made new friends" he pointed at the kids playing. They wave back. "But papa... I'm hungry..."

"Same, papa is hungry too. Let's go find something to eat. Where do you want to eat?"

At the restaurant. We ordered and ate.

"Did you have fun Ji-Ha? I'm really sorry I couldn't join you."

"It's okay. I'm fine. It's relaxing"

"Well, at least you enjoy it. Oh right, you about to tell me something earlier right?"

She bit her lips and then said, "So dad's lawyer called me earlier."

"Hmm why." Ji-Ha's family are big shots of doctors. And somehow my dad was very close to his dad since we are still not born yet. And that's how Ji-Ha and I meet and become close too. I actually can't believe we will end up together since she is from a classy rich family while I live a pretty normal life. Even their family help us with my studies abroad when I was in high school.

"According to the lawyer and his will, he's giving the mansion to us…"
