i love this novel so much its not even funny. One of the best novels among this platform. The characters are fleshed completely, the experiences are on a realistic level and it is clear the author has done their research on Chinese culture, that, out they did very well in representing their culture in this novel. I appreciate the author and the translator very much for taking the time out of their days to create this beautiful story.

A story about a man on a mission to save his parents. While the system upgrades his Haunted House, gives him ghosts, and even some supernatural abilities, it is ultimately guiding him with clues towards the mystery behind his parents' whereabouts. The first parts of the novel are very good at keeping a scary ambiance, but as the main character becomes stronger and gains more powerful ghosts, the story becomes more thriller/adventure with hints of horror instead. Still, it's an excellent novel, and I highly suggest it for anyone who likes this kind of stuff!
This book has kept me at the edge of my seat. While most books, and certainly the vast majority of horror books, are shallow with very few surprises However, just when you think you have this one figured out, new surprises happen! The translation isn’t bad and chapters are updated regularly. I’m happy to support this creative author!
This novel is gold and worth reading for those who want ~ ============================================ Comedy ~ yeah maybe to calm you heart on some parts. Cuteness ~ cute ....but still deadly~ More Comedy? ~ well? maybe to calm some readers again? Mystery ~ flawless scenarios say no more. Thrills ~ bruh? who would do something like that? like wtf? mc? well it's horror so~ ============================================ And nope it's not scary at all~ I swear~ I'm not even scared reading it. .. .... ..... maybe uhh~ just don't read this when you're alone in the dark or in the bathroom at night. But if you really love to experience the horror "like me /lies/" do it.
This is one of the most thought out and well written novels on webnovel. Hands down. If there was a way to get more than 1 chapter a week... I'd do just about anything for it. The characters are enthralling and have depth that isn't common on most books released on the site. If you are needing an editor i will happily work for free just to see more chapters released!
This novel is basically like “Gourmet of Another World” and “Black Tech Internet Cafe System” with horror elements thrown in. Instead of a restaurant/cafe you have a huanted house, instead of cooking/gaming you have scaring customers, and instead of looking for new ingredients/games you are looking for new ghosts to add to the haunted house. As of right now I have read up to at least 500 chapters. The horror element is actually pretty good and at the very least will give you goosebumps. In terms of fighting against the supernatural, you might want to lower your expectations. The mc is not gonna be like Alexander Anderson from Hellsing, shoving bibles up ghost butts. Nor is he gonna like Danny Fenton from Danny Phantom, blasting ghost rays. At the very best the mc is like season 1 episode 1, Dean and Sam, from the show “Supernatural” in terms of physical and combat prowess but without all the cool weaponry. But he does have a good trump card up his sleeves which is his pokemons, which I think is kind of lame. That’s right, he sends his pokemons/ghosts he collected to fight other pokemon/ghosts in the wild or other pokemon trainers. Which is not bad per say but more of a personal perference. There is also the fact the mc does not prepare enough when going ghost hunting. If you know ghosts are real and you go ghost hunting, I expect you to be armed to the teeth with supernatural knowledge and weaponry and be wearing you ghost repellent undergarments. But this dude goes in with a hammer and his pokemons. Do I even have to say how boned a Pokemon trainer without any Pokemons is, in a Pokemon world? But besides that, this is a pretty great novel, definitely recommend a read.

Looking back over the time I have spent I have no regrets. This is the best online(and maybe overall) story that I have ever read. The thing about this story is it is not just a shallow story or cheap scares like in a trashy horror film. This story uses the mood, atmosphere, and timing perfectly to put you in the shoes of the character and make you scared. The plot of the novel, where we have arcs all interconnected flows so smoothly it does not seem to be divided up. Not to mention his abilities/connections are not overpowered but just strong enough where using reasoning can help him get out of a situation. The character is so likable, yet so menacing at times that you can tell, he is no single sided character but a person who you can grow to like and love.(No homo) In this story, unlike a lot of other ones, he is not fearless, but brave. The other people are also described in depth, where they have multiple levels that this story slowly peals away to create an amazing read. Though sometimes its not the people who are my favorite characters. The world is well thought out, and the story uses this well thought out world to give reason to the progressively increasing level of difficulty unlike some novels that just seem illogical. And don't get me started on how often it is updates, cause it comes out like clockwork as if its a machine, but the translations are too good for that. P.S. I don't know how far you, my review reader is, so I will just say that I ship the person who follows Chen Ge the most in the story with him.
This little wimp, after reading the earlier chapters was so scared she had to continue reading while listening to worship songs. However she wanted to continue what she started and the novel that used to make her break into a cold sweat, now became her daily awaited boost. The story was amazing and despite being a horror genre, it didn't cross my bottomline. Eventually her fear threshold evolved and at two o'clock in the friggin morning, she continues to read the story with high spirits. Now this story became one of her current favorites and she had decided to abandon her top spot in a vote ranking of a novel for the sake of this masterpiece. Hey to the 0.1% of the people reading this, you should give this novel a try despite yourself being a scaredy-cat like me.
