2 Chapter 2: The First Hours

Chapter 2 The first Hours

It turned out the first few hours were baby steps for what was happening, but now the apocalypse was written clearly in the air.

'So far, I am the only survival in the supermarket store.'

Just after the mutated men murdered most of everyone, Eri recieved a reward for viewing the global announcement till the end.

A knife which he used to defend himself killing the two barely.

After a few seconds the other humans began to change hereby biting the others that were not infected and he had too kill them all making him the last survival.

Or so he thought.

Eri already knew what this creatures were, Zombies. Although they were nothing like the movies.

They were strong, filled with instincts and hard to kill.

*Gruck*

Eri peeked past the shelf he was sitting by to see a zombie woman sniffing around the place in search of him.

He could see the multiple stabs he made all over her body, none getting close to the head.

This woman was not like the other zombies, she was faster and evaded attacks.

'And they say Zombies are dumb.'

Eri narrowed his eyes in search for a way to win, it was very slim. The only hope he got was where the zombie was heading... Outside.

The automatic door opened for the zombie to go out and it did, leaving the premises.

This was the third time a stunt like that happened, but this time he wasn't taking any chances.

As soon as Eri found the coast to be clear, he walked over to the power supply to the building and turned it off.

The general power had already been cut off so this was the backup generator. Now the doors could only be opened manually.

"Man, what happened to the world."

Eri thought returning to the main store and picking out some chips and milk to make up for breakfast.

His first thought to this was rapture, maybe when the rain fell all the saints were akem and the rest were left to die in this cursed world.

However that was no, he made a call to his pastor a while back and got a decent reply.

'That confirmed it, if pastor is still here then it ain't rapture.'

Secondly he thought it was some political attempt to kill half the country's population so as to decrease food consumption, but this was happening worldwide.

And that brought him to the conclusion of supernatural forces. According to this global message it mentioned universe..... This meant other planets were also experiencing this apocalypse.

Eri spat a sigh, 'man I am freaking going to die here.' the store was heavily guarded by numbers of Zombies and Mutated humans.

The zombies could be outran, but the Mutated humans were on another page. Having deformed body parts, strong enough to kick cars into the air like balls, fast and intelligent.

The moment he steps a foot out there, his skeleton would come crashing in an instant.

Not a favourable option.

And now Eri noticed it was getting dark, the sun was at the brink of setting, meaning things were sure to get worse.

'Who knows how my sister is doing?' Eri wondered since his parents died and left just a sister who was about finishing highschool to his care.

Aside from him who lived a quiet Life and worked hard for all their fees, his sister Kate lived loudly, owning popularity and friends. Spending senselessly the money he gave her.

'I better not catch her sleeping at a boy's place in this new world!' Eri growled squeezing his fist in hate.

*Slam*

'What..... That.' Eri immediately kowtowed close to the shelf he stood before in fear. It took him a minute of pondering before he decided to peak at the origin of the noise.

A sound that large could only come from...

'The shelf and the door is opened.'

The shelf Eri had put there had collapsed and the door was shifted open, but by what?

Could it be that a mutation has come for me?

His hand found it's way to the hilt of his knife as he peeked helter skelter for the being trying his best to be unoticed.

Eventually his eyes caught the sight of it and terror struck into Eri's heart.

Standing in the distance, with a knife in it's hand and red eyes gleaming everywhere was a childlike human doll. Looked exactly from the comic books.

'Child's play! AHHHHHHHH!' Eri broke into tears seeing a replica of one of his childhood fears..... He hated horror and with the darkness of night, pose and eyes of this character, this made him quiver.

"Ok!"

Ehn did that thing just speak? Another fear filled thought to menace on.

"If you won't come out Eri, then I will come then."
