Everyone listened intently to Izuku's words, their excitement gradually subsiding. After the impressive display of large and wide flames, silence engulfed the crowd. Surprisingly, the flames did not harm anyone, as usual. Observing this spectacle, a certain hero remarked, "Hump, Shoto, with him in there, you have to prove that our flames are stronger!"
Following the momentary shock, Midnight announced, "Now then, get ready! It's time for the preliminaries, and the first event is an Obstacle Race! You'll race around the stadium!"
With the starting line allowing no specific order, everyone found their spots, and those who reached first took positions at the front. Unperturbed by the commotion, Izuku calmly walked to the last place, waiting for the start signal.
"3...2...1... GO!"
As expected, all the students sprinted towards the tunnel, utilizing their quirks creatively to gain an advantage. However, murmurs spread through the crowd as the announcer observed the starting line and said, "Oh? It seems something is wrong. Competitor Izuku Midoriya is sitting on the ground."
Sitting cross-legged on the ground, Izuku rested his head on his right hand's knuckles, observing the race alongside the crowd.
During the race, Bakugo and Shoto emerged as the main competitors, but Denki Kaminari surprised everyone with his impressive performance. The commentator voice hero became ecstatic as he exclaimed, "Oh, look! Denki Kaminari has taken down all the robots in his way. His lightning strikes are precise and accurate! Oh, and now the robots are flying away - courtesy of Ochaco Uraraka!"
As the students progressed and reached the canyon, they had to traverse it using a single rope. Shoto, Bakugo, and Denki effortlessly flew above the canyon, ignoring the rope entirely.
Upon encountering the third obstacle, the minefield, the announcer shouted, "OH LOOK! Izuku Midoriya is getting up, hUUUH, he's stretching!"
Rising from his position, Izuku decided to have some fun. Blue lines started appearing all around his legs - a manifestation of mana. Though the concept of mana existed in the world of MHA, no one knew how to use it. However, given that he was in the body of Muramasa, who was borrowing the body of Emiya Shirou, a mage known for enhancement magic, using mana was relatively easy. Moreover, Izuku possessed exceptional magic aptitude, allowing him to wield a substantial amount of mana. Combined with the flames of Muramasa, he became an extraordinary force. But that wasn't all; Izuku had yet another secret to enhance his speed even further.
As the race approached its final stage, both Katsuki and Shoto fiercely competed for the top spot. However, just as they entered the tunnel, a shocking incident unfolded.
A deafening explosion rocked the area where Izuku was seated, followed by a massive red flash that rippled throughout the stadium. The large robots exploded, the rope connecting the canyon was incinerated, and a line of mines detonated simultaneously as the red flash passed through. In a matter of seconds since its initiation, the red flash emerged from the other end of the tunnel, leaving everyone astonished.
The stadium fell into stunned silence as they witnessed the figure who was on the opposite side just moments ago now standing before them. With a confident smile, the figure addressed Midnight, saying, "Well? What are you waiting for? Announce my victory."
At that moment, both Katsuki and Shoto appeared, realizing that the one they thought they had finally surpassed had once again outdone them.
"Uh, yeah, AND THE WINNER IS IZUKU MIDORIYA!"
A roar of thunderous cheers erupted from the crowd as they finally understood. "IZUKU! IZUKU! IZUKU! IZUKU!"
Satisfied with the response, Izuku acknowledged the support. "That's more like it. Now, let's wait for the other contestants to come out."
…
All For One gazed at the screen, letting out a maniacal laugh. "HAHAHAHAHA! I WANT IT, I want YOU, Izuku Midoriya!"
…
Izuku's mother bounced excitedly on her couch, cheering for her son. Her heart had been in pain from the start of the race; she believed he was too scared to participate. It was his first opportunity to showcase his quirk, and she worried for him. However, to her pleasant surprise, not only did her little boy win the entire race in style, but her question about his quirk remained unanswered.
"What in the world is my son's Quirk?"
The Number two hero, who also happened to be the worst dad/hero in the world, observed the race with great anger. He was furious that his son never used his flames during the race. What irritated him even more was the fact that some brat efficiently used flames to boost his speed, perhaps even better than him. Nonetheless, Endeavor pushed away the thought, believing no one could use flames better than he could.
Though Izuku appeared calm after the race, his thoughts were racing inside his head. "Wow, it worked! Scáthach, it was a risk, but I partially summoned Achilles' Legs, and I got to choose it too!"
("Yes, indeed. That was very impressive. Maybe with this, you can develop a way to summon the heroes you need without the randomness. It seems the mystic code is a success as well," Scáthach responded.
Medea joined in the conversation, saying, "Indeed, but make sure to tell him not to overload it; we haven't perfected it yet."
Izuku nodded in agreement and said, "Yeah, sure. Now, let's see what Midnight has to say. If I remember correctly, I'm going to be a wanted man for the next couple of minutes.")
In a random corner of Izuku's mind, someone sat, feeling displaced. "What is happening? They are all taking my place! I'm the supporting character here, damn it!"
("Stay silent, Cu!" shouted a certain Shishou.
