( Haru Pov )

I actually fought without using magic.

Pok! Thud!

I'm currently at a high school.

The killing of zombies and the wind guided me here.

As cliché as it was, the wind had guided me here.

I was on the soccer field killing any zombies that got in my way.

[ Infection: 24m ]

I had 24 minutes left because of the other bites from the infected.

Pok! Pokk!

I hit two more zombies, causing them to stagger backward.

Using the staff to trip them, I stabbed the staff into their eyes and throat.

I looked ahead to see no zombies as I walked towards the school.

" Hello, there."

I froze as I looked at the small rabbit in a tuxedo with a tophat.

" Uhh....hello?" Inreplied hesitantly.

" No need to be alarmed, my dear friend." The rabbit walked closer as he circled around me before jumping on my shoulder.

" I am a harmless little rabbit who is looking to do some trading." The rabbit showed a token before jumping off.

" My name is Ruze. Ruze rabbiton." The rabbit introduced himself.

" I'm Haru."

" Mhm. Then young Haru, fo either to do some trading?" He asked, rubbing his two forelegs.

[ Ding! You've encouraged a merchant! Do you wish to do some trading? Y/N ]

I blinked my eyes before answering.

' Yes.'

[ Ding! ]

The system showed a panel in front of me as I looked at the items in display.

The currency that was used in this trade was zombie flesh.

" Zombie flesh?" I blurted as I looked at the rabbit.

The rabbit nodded.

" Yup! These rotten flesh, terrible smell as they are have a mysterious essence inside that could be used for crafting." The rabbit replied.

" And if you don't have any, I could take other items." He finished.

I nodded in understanding as I looked at the panel again.

I don't know if this rabbit is connected to this dungeon or the system, but I didn't want to upset the merchant.

Before scrolling on the panel, I looked at the amount of zombie flesh I had.

[ Zombie Flesh: 124 ]

That was a lot since I had lost count on how many zombies I killed.

I scrolled through the panel as I spotted a few manuals.

A few crafting manuals and upgrade manuals.

" I'll get this one." I pointed at the item as I looked at the rabbit.

" Certainly!" He replied.

[ Ding! You have bought an improvised healing salve manual. ]

I actually ran out of bandages that I found before, and they healed a portion of my health after getting bitten.

I felt a small price in my head before setting my bag down.

I pulled out my last bandage and alcohol solution as well as an herb that was dropped by a random zombie.

I sat down as I started making the healing salve.

Mixing the alcohol solution and herb together and putting it on the bandage, I took off my bracer that had bite marks on.

I took off my old bandage as blood dripped from the wound.

' It gotten worse....' I winced as wrapped the new bandage over my arm.

[ + 24/s ]

I have 15 seconds before the healing effects wear off.

I stood up and grabbed my fear along with my staff.

" Good luck." The rabbit smiled.

I nodded as I took out the treasure map.

" So, you think this here as well?" I received an answer by the wind nudging down the hall.

I jogged towards the direction as I looked around to find no zombies.

' That's strange... usually, a school would've been filled with students.' I thought as I was led to the teachers lounge.

I slowly opened the sliding door and peeked inside to see no zombies.

I frowned before entering the dungeon.

I looked around the lounge before finding a safe.

" Is this it?" I muttered to myself as I pulled the safe out from under the desk.

' A lock, sigh.' I sighed a I searched for the keys.

" Nothing." I was a little ticked off.

I looked at my time.

[ Infection: 21m ]

" Don't have time. I'll have to fight the boss." I ran out the room and down the hallway.

" Now, if I was a Boss zombie, where would I be?" I thought before finding the answer.

" The gym." I concluded as I searched for the gym.

A minute later, I stood outside the gym.

I approached the doors, and the sense of danger was carried through the wind.

I took a dep breath and readied my magic with my left hand.

I could hear a growl vibrating through the doors.

I slowly opened the door and stepped inside.

This was my only chance to get that cure.

[ Ding encounter a level 12 Boss ]

[ Ding! Defeat the Boss! ]

[ Rewards: 950 Exp, The Key, New equipment. ]

Guuurraaaaa!!!

A large lump of meat with arms sticking out of its body rushed towards me.

I froze in place before jumping out of the way.

Boom

The boss it the wall behind me as I quickly shot a wind blade down its back.

[ - 24 ]

[ Boss ]

[ Hp: 1,026/1,050 ]

I gritted my teeth and rolled out of the way to dodge a large arm hitting the floor.

I jabbed its elbow, or I think it's an elbow with my staff.

[ - 5 ]

But it barely had an effect as the large lumps of meat protected it.

" Shit!" I cursed as I stepped back to dodge its arm swing.

I shot another wind blade at its neck.

[ - 26 ]

A cut appeared at its collarbone and neck.

Graaaa!!

A deep growl escaped its mouths as I ran around it.

I felt the wind nudge me behind.

I ducked to dodged a zombies grasp as I quickly turned around and hit the zombies knee before killing it with a blow to the head.

[ + 15 exp ]

I felt my legs becoming lighter and more energized as I quickly ran away from the boss monster to kill other zombies that were summoned by the monsters roar.

In a few minutes, I killed the rest before attacking the boss monster with better speed.

A blow to its sides, legs, and stomach.

And as the battle continued, the more ferocious Tha monster became as more zombies showed.

In the heat of the moment, I had become desperate, and I ignored the zombies, only killing them for a speed boost.

I soley focused on the boss monster alone.

Death was inching closer, it's grip tightening around my neck.

The boss managed to grow more arms as around its body.

I gritted my teeth as I barely managed to dodge a swipe.

Pok!

I swung my staff behind me, killing a zombie before lowering myself and rushing towards the boss.

Its arm swinging around hitting zombies without a care as it tried to hit me.

I couldn't find its eyes, I began to realize it was only using its ears that covered its body.

I shot a wind slap towards it knee and hit it with the staff making the boss monster lose its balance before using wing gust to push it.

Graaaa!!

The monster lost its balance as it tried to use its many arms to hold itself.

I hit the arms and as it fell to its back I jumped on its large body and hit its head, neck, collar bone and chest.

I felt my stamina I rapidly depleting for every hit.

[ Critical hit ] [ Critical Hit ] [ Critical Hit ]

[ Critical Hit ]

I tossed the staff and brought out my pocket knife.

I flciedl it opened as I dodged another swip from its arm.

I stabbed the knife into its shoulder and repeatedly stabbed the monster.

I was scared, desperate and most of all mad.

[ Ding! Boss monster slained! ]

I huffed as I fell to the ground and the boss monster turned to ashes.

I looked around desperately but I did not find a cure.

" Haaa.... haa. Haha! Hahaha!!" I laughed at myself and tears started pouring out as I didn't find nothing except my rewards.

[ Ding! Level 10 reached! ]

[ Congratulations! You have been awarded [ Gamers Mind ] and [ Gamers Body ] ]

I looked at the screen before ignoring it.

[ Infection: 15sec ]

My mouth was dry, and my muscle devlided of strength.

I sat in silence as I looked the zombies around me closing in.

Their rotten flesh ruining my mood more.

' Rotten flesh... didn't the rabbit say they have some mysterious essence?' I asked myself as I looked at the zombie.

' That boss monster before... it must've grown stronger by eating zombies.' I thought as I looked at the zombies around me.

I looked at my pocket knife before jumping to the nearest zombie.

I stabbed my knife into its skull before taking a bite from its shoulder.

It tasted gross but as time went by it become tastier.

I let the zombie fall to the ground as I wiped my blood and looked at the other zombies.

I grinned as I rushed towards the rest of the zombies.

I was consumed by an unknown madness that I couldn't control as let myself go.
